Xu Xianxian asks, "Have you ever seen a villain as pure and unpretentious as me?!"
Causing troubl...
The Southern Song Dynasty was one of the most humiliating periods in ancient China. The Song Dynasty lost half of its territory. Not only was the powerful Jin Dynasty eyeing it covetously, but there was also the gradually rising Black Dragon of the grassland. Facing the opponent destined by heaven, the Southern Song Dynasty was in danger of collapse at any time.
In later history, the Song Dynasty, known as the "Weak Song", became the most powerful opponent of the Mongol Empire that swept across Asia and Europe.
No doubt about it.
In the 13th century AD, the Mongols assembled an army of over 100,000 and launched the Second Westward Expedition. It took only a few years for them to reach Hungary in Europe and stop at the Danube River. They massacred cities and destroyed countries. This was called the "Yellow Peril" in European history, and people feared it as the "Scourge of God."
However, the grassland empire that swept across the world and swallowed up the eight wildernesses had already lost the powerful defense line of the Sixteen Prefectures of Youyun and a large number of northern cities when fighting against the "weak Song" of the same period. In the midst of peace and prosperity, the Southern Song Dynasty only had the Central Plains to defend.
However, it took nearly half a century, the loss of four khans, and a large amount of military and material resources to completely defeat the Southern Song Dynasty.
Official history records that in 1258 AD, Genghis Khan's grandson, Mongke Khan, who swept across Eastern Europe, and his brother Kublai Khan and his general Uriankhangtai led a three-pronged expedition against the Southern Song Dynasty.
In the seventh month of the lunar calendar, Mongke Khan led his main force to attack the Bashu region. He was invincible along the way, winning battle after battle, and rarely encountered any rivals. Until the spring of 1259, his offensive was blocked at Diaoyucheng in Hezhou. After several months of vain attempts to capture the city, he died suddenly outside the city on August 11 of the same year.
The Mongol Empire subsequently fractured, with Kublai Khan and Ariq Böke engaging in a five-year civil war for the Khan throne. This not only gave the Southern Song a respite but also spared distant Poland in Central Europe from the ravages of war. This indirectly demonstrates the extreme haste with which Mongke Khan died, leaving behind no will or edict appointing a successor.
In many historical versions, there are many different opinions about this process. Everyone thinks that he died of illness or was seriously injured, but no one knows the truth of that history.
Because those who could witness history have almost all turned into a layer of yellow earth, and as time passed, they were buried in the bottomless underground along with the real history.
So Fu Bei, the guardian of Luogong City, one of the two mysterious places, saw the body of Genghis Khan in this underground mausoleum from the Southern Song Dynasty.
Inside the crystal clear coffin, a slightly majestic middle-aged man, wearing a traditional Mongolian battle robe, lies quietly inside, lifelike as if he were a living creature.
"The Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, Mongke Borjigin, died in the first year of the Kaiqing reign of the Southern Song Dynasty."
Fu Bei stood beside the crystal coffin, carefully looking at the notes on the side, with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
As a person in the underworld, he looked a little disheveled at this time, with his hair disheveled and his clothes tattered.
The demon ruins contained a maze of crisscrossing connections, as well as numerous demons and traps. He had gone deeper into the ruins, encountered numerous dangers, and had lost many of his men. The few survivors had also gone their separate ways, and now he was the only one here.
"How is it possible... This mausoleum isn't high-end, below the level of a prince, and it's in the undisputed Southern Song Dynasty style, a far cry from the Mongolian state of the time. How could it be the burial place of a Mongol Khan?"
Fu Bei carefully looked at the corpse in the crystal coffin, and became more and more unbelievable.
Just like archaeology, before exploring any ancient ruins, no one would venture into such a dangerous place without first doing their homework on ancient texts. Fu Bei was naturally a Force user with a vast knowledge base, otherwise he wouldn't have ventured into the depths of the mausoleum.
But precisely because of this, he was extremely shocked.
"Something's wrong, very wrong! According to all known historical records, Genghis Khan should be buried in Qinian Valley in the Kent Mountains. That's the imperial mausoleum of the Yuan Dynasty, thousands of kilometers away from here."
In order to avoid other traps, Fu Bei did not reach out to touch the crystal coffin, but explored around it.
Thousands of kilometers, in the ancient era of underdeveloped transportation, was a vast distance. After all, it wasn't just the distance itself; it was also about the roads. There were no smooth, straight roads, and many places were inaccessible to horses. Even a single mountain range could mean a detour that would take months, several times or even dozens of times the distance of a straight-line journey.
"According to the old divisions, this is indeed the place where Mongke died, near Diaoyucheng in Hezhou. But even so, the grassland army at the time had not yet conquered the Southern Song Dynasty, and it would be impossible for them to leave the Khan's body lying in enemy territory."
In the demon tomb, lying there was actually the corpse of an ancient emperor, which gave Fu Bei a severe shock.
He glanced around the mausoleum and found no other clues, so he turned his attention to the crystal coffin. After hesitating for a moment, Fu Bei finally reached out, condensed the radioactive Force into a thread, and slowly touched the coffin.
As the Force emanated, his entire body began to tense up, ready for battle. In this demon tomb full of dangers, this strange and incredible-looking coffin must be hiding a terrible trap.
When the extended Force touched the crystal coffin, Fu Bei felt his whole body tremble, and then a roar like thunder came to his ears.
roar!!!
Above the crystal coffin, a tiny, five-clawed black dragon began to solidify gradually, roaring at Fu Bei with its fangs bared. The fierce power projected from its dragon eyes alone was enough to make this immortal ghost retreat more than ten steps until it slowly stopped at the edge of the tomb.
