Chapter 194 Regiment

Zhang Fan felt like he was sitting on pins and needles, his body stiff. Before he understood what kind of place the 358th Regiment was, he dared not make any rash moves. He might as well just stay tough, otherwise he would die like the former regimental commander without even knowing how he died.

"Is the officer carsick?" The long-haired female soldier smiled and then pulled the curtain on the car window, creating a light-blocking curtain that separated the back seat from the front seat.

Zhang Fan's eyelids twitched. What was going to happen?

The long-haired female soldier tossed her wavy hair, lifted her buttocks, and sat on Zhang Fan's lap, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"The journey has been long, and your body must be stiff from sitting in the car for so long, sir?" The long-haired female soldier twisted her body, her breath sweet as orchids, her long legs rubbing against the human flesh cushion below. "Why don't you let Yuna help you relax, sir?"

This isn't just an implication, it's a direct statement. This female soldier named Yuna certainly has the looks to incite crime.

Yuna's appearance wasn't stunningly beautiful, but rather delicate and pleasing to the eye. She was wearing a female soldier's uniform that was clearly a size too small, and the two buttons on the collar were merely decorative, as they were stretched open by her ample breasts and could not be fastened at all. Her delicate face paired with the uniform gave her an impression of both innocence and allure, and her seductive charm absolutely earned her the title of a rare beauty.

"oh?"

Zhang Fan had gradually figured out a bit of the trick. He grabbed the long-haired female soldier's hand, and with his other hand he rubbed the inside of her thigh, a smile on his face.

How to relax?

"Hmm..." Yuna's body went limp, and she looked up at Zhang Fan in his arms, her eyes seemingly overflowing with tears. "Yuna, Yuna will be the commander's personal secretary from now on."

"From now on, if the commander has anything to do, he'll leave it to Yuna; if not, well..."

"Really?" Zhang Fan smiled, gently stroking Yuna's palm with his fingers. "Let me guess..."

“This kind of callus, you usually use a .38 caliber miniature silenced pistol, right?” Zhang Fan said, while pinching Yuna’s inner thigh with his other hand.

"Isn't it usually hidden in this spot? Why didn't you bring it today?"

"How can an assassin forget his weapon?"

Yuna stiffened for a moment, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes, but she quickly regained her composure and smiled faintly, "Weapons are for fighting enemies, not for fighting superiors..."

Yuna said this...

"But I don't like it." Zhang Fan picked up Yuna and placed her on the seat next to him.

"I don't like having people watching."

"Watching?" Yuna paused for a moment, then glanced at the driver's seat and chuckled. "Lina won't peek, and..."

Yuna laughed rather boldly: "Lina is a female soldier who can also fight! It all depends on how the commander commands her..."

“She won’t watch, but they will.” Zhang Fan said with a smile, as he reached into the central air conditioning vent and pulled out a small pinhole camera with a battery.

Yuna stood frozen in her seat, staring at Zhang Fan in disbelief, unsure of what to say.

"Your name is Yuna? You'll be my secretary from now on, right?" Zhang Fan removed the camera battery and placed it in Yuna's hand, continuing, "To be my secretary, first, go change into a uniform a size too big. How are you going to work if you keep swaying around like this?"

“The 358th Regiment wouldn’t be so poor that they would skimp on even this little bit of fabric, would they?” Zhang Fan pulled back the middle curtain, and the carriage was instantly lit up.

The short-haired female soldier named Lina in the front seat noticed the curtains had been drawn and quickly looked away from the rearview mirror. Yuna leaned against the door armrest, staring at Zhang Fan for a long time before slowly fastening her seatbelt and settling into her seat.

"Sir, Yuna was just joking with you, please don't mind." Yuna had now put on a cold and aloof expression.

A woman's mood can change faster than the weather.

Throughout the journey, Yuna remained silent, and Lina didn't even glance at the rearview mirror again, focusing solely on driving as if nothing had happened inside the car.

Zhang Fan was puzzled. "I've even removed the camera, why aren't you seducing me anymore? Maybe if you try one more time, I'll give in? Young man, don't give up so easily!"

It got dark outside the car window, as if we had entered a tunnel, then it lit up again and the car stopped.

"Sir, we've arrived." Yuna's tone had changed.

Zhang Fan got out of the car, somewhat annoyed.

"Good morning, sir!"

A neat and loud shout woke Zhang Fan up. He looked up and found himself standing in the middle of a square.

The 358th Regiment's base was located in the center of a small meteorite crater. The crater was surrounded by insurmountable cliffs, with only one gap connecting it to the outside world. A tunnel was built there, which served as the base's entrance.

In front of Zhang Fan stood three rows of nearly a hundred officers, whose ranks should be those of commanders of the 358th Regiment at the rank of lieutenant or above. Behind them were ten rows of soldiers, numbering nearly a thousand.

All the soldiers stood at attention, saluting and watching him silently.

Zhang Fan's gaze swept across the soldiers.

The soldiers looked tired, their gazes unfocused, and their spirits low.

But it's not bad. At least they don't look like delicate young masters. In a place like the Chaotic Lands, where there is frequent turmoil and scarce resources, it's normal for their mental state to be a little poor.

Zhang Fan walked to the front of the line and returned the salute with a standard military posture.

"The ceremony is complete!"

With a whoosh, nearly a thousand soldiers lowered their arms in unison, and a captain in the front ranks stepped forward, ran quickly to Zhang Fan, and saluted.

"Hans, deputy commander of the 358th Regiment, reports to his superior! The 358th Regiment was expected to have 1,008 personnel, and the actual number of personnel present is 1,008!"

"Report complete! Requesting instructions!"

Nearly a thousand soldiers stood quietly in place, motionless.

Zhang Fan nodded, quite satisfied.

It seems the 358th Regiment isn't as bad as Reinhardt made it out to be. At least the officers here seem to have trained the soldiers quite well, and they seem to be able to obey orders without question.

"My name is Zhang Fan, and I'm your regimental commander! I don't know what your previous regimental commander was like! I don't want to know! And I have no interest in knowing!"

Zhang Fan directly quoted Wang Desheng's first speech at the F training camp.

"From now on, you will be my soldiers!"

Let's fight together!

"Take them back to their respective battalions! Disband!"

The entire area fell silent. The soldiers looked at him with strange eyes, making Zhang Fan feel uncomfortable. He hadn't said anything wrong, had he?

The soldiers remained standing in place, which puzzled Zhang Fan. Hadn't they heard his loud order to disperse?

Zhang Fan glanced at the deputy regimental commander, Captain Hans, who immediately turned around and said, "Take them back to their respective battalions! Dismissed!"

Upon hearing this, apart from the officers in the front row who stayed behind, the other soldiers immediately left the square in an orderly manner. Many soldiers gave Zhang Fan strange looks as they left.

The remaining officers stepped forward one by one to introduce themselves; they were all officers of the 358th Regiment, at the rank of lieutenant or above.

The 358th Regiment has 985 soldiers, including 100 officers of the rank of lieutenant or above. It is divided into five battalions, each with about 200 soldiers. One of the battalions is the smallest, with only 30 soldiers including the battalion commander, so it does not have company or platoon units.

The battalion commander of the female soldiers' battalion was Yuna.

Deputy Regiment Commander Hans enthusiastically introduced the battalion commanders to Zhang Fan. After the introductions were completed, it was getting late.

"Yuna, take the officer to his room."

"Yes, sir, this way please."

Zhang Fan followed and walked to Yuna's side.

After saying this, Deputy Regiment Commander Hans saluted and left. As soon as he left, the other officers followed him and left without even glancing at Zhang Fan.

Zhang Fan felt something was off, but couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

"Sir, this way please!" Yuna repeated herself before Zhang Fan finally snapped out of his daze.

Let's go.

Yuna walked ahead and led the way without saying a word, a stark contrast to her charming demeanor in the car, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Zhang Fan rubbed his fingers together a few times, then looked at the long, fair legs crossing in front of him. Was this really the thigh he had just touched?

"Huh? Where's Lina? I haven't seen her." To ease the awkward atmosphere, Zhang Fan deliberately made conversation.

"Why does the officer want to see Lina?" Yuna asked as she walked.

"It's nothing, I was just asking." Zhang Fan scratched his head sheepishly. "I just think it's rare to see female soldiers with short hair. Lina looks so heroic and beautiful."

"Oh? The commander likes girls like Lina?" Yuna turned her head and looked at Zhang Fan with some curiosity.

"It's not that I like her." Zhang Fan simply asked because Lina hadn't said a word in the car. He said politely, "I just think Lina is kind of cute and a little silly."

"Oh!" Yuna nodded thoughtfully.

"I see."
