Chapter 200 New Life

A piercing alarm sounded within the base.

The soldiers of the 358th Regiment had not heard the battle alarm for a long time.

Some soldiers, after being awakened by the alarm, rubbed their dry eyes and sat on their beds for a while before remembering that it was a combat alarm, and then slowly got out of bed.

Some soldiers even pulled up their blankets and continued to sleep with their heads covered, ignoring the alarm.

Lieutenant Hans, the deputy regimental commander, came down from the dormitory building in Block B, cursing and swearing as he fastened his belt.

"What the hell! Who sounded the air raid sirens in the middle of the night? Can't a person get any sleep?"

When Captain Hans walked to the garrison square, he sensed that something was wrong. Two fully armed squads of soldiers were lined up in the center of the square, their disciplined manners making them look nothing like soldiers of the 358th Regiment.

Between two fully armed soldiers, a beam of light shines in the very center of the square. Under the light is a chair, and a major in military uniform sits on the chair, his saber poking the ground.

Upon seeing this scene, Captain Hans's heart skipped a beat, because although the major in front of him was wearing a military uniform, it was obvious that there was bloodstains all over the uniform, and he could smell a strong stench of blood even before he got close.

The saber was planted on the ground, and the soil around it was stained red with blood flowing from the blade. Captain Hans's lips twitched involuntarily.

Is this human blood? No way! If so, how many people would have to be killed to leave such bloodstains?

"Sir, is this a surprise drill?" Captain Hans hurriedly straightened his uniform, walked up to Zhang Fan, and saluted.

Zhang Fan glanced at Captain Hans expressionlessly, then looked away, too lazy to pay him any attention.

"Uh..." Captain Hans felt like he had swallowed a toad, choking and uncomfortable, but seeing the new regimental commander's eyes, he didn't dare to ask any more questions and could only stand there.

Gradually, more and more people appeared in the square. Many soldiers who had been dawdling had already walked into the square. They were all stunned when they saw the fully armed soldiers in front of them. Then they saw the deputy commander, Captain Hans, standing there. They didn't understand the situation either, so they lined up around him.

Looking at the sparse queue, Zhang Fan noticed that many people were missing compared to the queue that had greeted him when he first arrived. In particular, the number of officers in the front row was less than a third.

"Lieutenant Yuna, how much time has passed?" Zhang Fan asked Yuna, who was standing beside him with her hands behind her back, as he rested his chin on his left hand.

“Reporting, sir.” Yuna glanced at her watch and replied, “Ten minutes have passed since the battalion’s battle alarm was sounded.”

“Captain Hans,” Zhang Fan suddenly looked up at Hans, “According to Ryan’s Soldier Regulations, how long should soldiers be within assembling at the designated location after a combat alarm sounds?”

"Hmm... five minutes." Hans didn't understand why the new commander was asking this.

The 358th Regiment's garrison hadn't sounded a combat alarm for who knows how many years. Even during routine combat drills, when the soldiers were informed in advance of the time to sound the combat alarm, it still took them half an hour to assemble.

Not to mention that many junior officers were on drugs tonight, or had been playing around in the logistics equipment warehouse. How could they possibly have the energy to get out of bed in the middle of the night?

"So the time has already passed." Zhang Fan nodded. "Maybe the alarm was too quiet and no one could hear it. We can't blame them."

Zhang Fan turned to look at Yuna: "Lieutenant Yuna, please give them a 'wake-up call'."

"yes!"

Yuna gave a military salute, then waved her hand, and two wheeled infantry fighting vehicles rumbled up from both sides of the square, stopping on either side of the formation. The turrets rotated 90 degrees, and the 30mm autocannons were pointed at the buildings in the AB dormitory area.

The soldiers stared wide-eyed.

"Sir, this is..." Hans was about to speak when his voice was drowned out by the sound of gunfire.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

The 30mm autocannons of the wheeled infantry fighting vehicles spewed flames as they indiscriminately swept the exterior walls of the AB dormitory buildings.

Dust billowed everywhere. The brick walls of the dormitory buildings could not withstand the bombardment of 30mm rounds. Fragments of concrete and brick flew everywhere. Within minutes, the outer walls of both dormitory buildings were riddled with holes.

Two female soldiers opened the cockpit door, climbed out, and saluted Zhang Fan, seemingly still wanting more.

If they hadn't run out of bullets, they would have kept firing. No wonder men love setting up cannons; it's so satisfying to shoot them.

That's good, those who can't get up probably never will.

"You, do you even know what you're doing!" Hans snapped out of his shock and stared at Zhang Fan in disbelief.

“Of course I know what I’m doing.” Zhang Fan stood up from his chair and said nonchalantly, “If it were on the front lines of Milan Star, and the alarms of the Fas Khan army had been sounding for 10 minutes before they got up to fight, the situation would be similar to what we are seeing now.”

"But you guys..." Zhang Fan walked around in front of the officers in the front row, "do you even know what you're doing?"

"Do you even know what you're doing in the 358th Regiment?!"

"Sir," Hans glanced furtively at the female soldiers around him, then looked at Zhang Fan and whispered, "Sir, you're new here, so you might not know, but they... they're just prostitutes..."

"Is that so?"

"Oh, I see." Zhang Fan glanced back at the other officers and asked, "Do you all think so too?"

The officers in the front row nodded in agreement, some even exchanging knowing smiles.

“Then you’re just like them.” Zhang Fan pointed his military knife at the logistics equipment warehouse not far away. “You died without cause.”

"What?" Captain Hans asked in horror. "You killed the people inside?"

“Yes.” Zhang Fan said casually, “I killed them all, leaving none alive.”

"Do you even know who they are?!" Captain Hans roared, his anger now clouding his judgment.

The 358th Regiment was a place he had managed for many years. He knew exactly who the people in the logistics and equipment warehouse were. If all the people inside were really killed, how could he report to the superior in the future?

"I don't know who they are, I only know that they violated my female soldiers, so they all deserve to die!"

"You! Fine, fine, hahaha!" Captain Hans laughed arrogantly. "Every single one of you here, officers and above, has ever taken advantage of your female soldiers. Do we all deserve to die? Huh?"

“Yes.” Zhang Fan looked at him coldly, “So you can all go die.”

"you!"

"madman!"

Do you even know your own limitations?

"You think you're the boss after only one day here?"

"Go ahead and kill us all if you dare!"

The officers around him began to curse angrily. This new regimental commander was too arrogant. Did he dare to slaughter the 358th Regiment's camp on his first day in office?

"Such a novel request, I've never heard of anything like it in my life." Zhang Fan pointed his military knife forward. "Then I'll grant your request."

Click!

Thirty fully armed female soldiers raised their guns in unison, pressed their faces against the laser gun sights, and pointed the guns at the people.

Captain Hans felt a chill rise from the soles of his feet. Judging from the women's posture, they were not joking at all; they were serious!

"Stop! I am the Marquis of Ferlinan..."

Captain Hans could only get halfway through his sentence before he was unable to finish. He slumped his head and saw a large hole burned into his chest by the energy bullet from the laser gun. He could almost smell the aroma of roasting meat. His eyes bulged out, and before he could feel any pain, his body collapsed onto the square.

"Damn it!"

The other officers wanted to resist, but how could unarmed men possibly defeat fully armed female soldiers?

Moreover, the female soldiers seemed like completely different people at this moment. Watching those beasts who usually humiliated them tremble and scream in agony under the gun barrels excited them to an extreme degree. Even after their opponents had fallen, they continued to fire at the corpses on the ground.

Looking at the corpses scattered all over the ground, the male soldiers standing behind them felt their legs go weak, and some of them were so frightened that they instinctively ran away.

They forgot that the female soldiers were in a state of extreme excitement, and any moving object would stimulate their nerves. The male soldiers who wanted to escape had not run far before they were riddled with holes by the laser beams.

Those soldiers who were a step too late and had their lives saved were terrified and ran away in panic.

"Enough! Stop firing!"

Zhang Fan knew that if he didn't give the order soon, none of the male soldiers here would survive.

Upon hearing Zhang Fan's order, the female soldiers reflexively stopped firing simultaneously, holstered their rifles, and stood at attention.

"You should all be ashamed of yourselves!" Zhang Fan coldly looked at the male soldiers who were still alive. "A bunch of cowards! Get out of here! Don't let me see you again!"

The male soldiers looked at each other, not daring to move, as if they were afraid they had misheard.

"Get lost before I change my mind!" Zhang Fan turned his back, drew his military knife, and said, "I'll only count to ten!"

1! 2! 3!

The male soldiers behind them felt as if they had been granted a pardon, and they scrambled to their feet, not wanting to stay there for even a moment longer.

"Sir," Yuna walked to Zhang Fan's side and said hesitantly, "Are we just going to let them go like this?"

“They won’t survive.” Zhang Fan looked at the group of disheveled drug addicts with disdain. “Someone doesn’t want the secrets here to be exposed.”

"I'd like to see just how capable Marquis Ferlinan really is."

"Let's not talk about this anymore." Zhang Fan turned around, a warm smile on his face, and grinned.

"Ladies, have you decided where we're going on vacation?"

silence.

The female soldiers looked at each other, then stared at Zhang Fan with shining eyes...

"W-what are you doing?" Zhang Fan was a little scared. Being stared at by one woman was fine, but being stared at by 30 women who were like she-wolves would make you scared too.

"Dry!"

A pack of she-wolves pounced on their commander, the little lamb...

A fire burned for three days and three nights, destroying the poppy fields behind the buildings, wiping out the 358th Regiment, but also giving birth to a new life for a group of women...
