Daily Update: Among his brother Luo Hong's childhood friends, Luo Yan disliked Zhou Weifang the most. Coincidentally, Zhou Weifang didn't like her either.

Chapter 179 Marriage in 179
In the final days leading up to the wedding, Luo Yan had more to do.
On Monday, the first thing she did at work was to take her marriage leave application to her supervisor for a signature. At the same time, she sincerely invited Director Zhang to her wedding banquet, using the words Zhou Weifang had taught her: "You can bring him along after you pick up your child, so you won't have to settle him in."
Ever since she started working, Director Zhang has relied on her in every way. After all, it's so rare to find a capable, smart, and hardworking person these days. Since he values her, he has to pay attention to every aspect of her life.
Zhang Chu said, "I will definitely go to your wedding, but I won't take the child. Let him stay at his maternal grandparents' house; he's too noisy there."
Luo Yan kept telling her, "It's okay, it's okay, weddings are supposed to be lively and festive," and then handed over the work she had been given last Friday.
Others could easily spend a week doing this kind of work.
Director Zhang thought to himself with a sigh, and after everyone left, he flipped open the invitation and said, "Oh, I really have to bring the kids. I've never had a banquet at a restaurant in Beijing before."
The reaction Luo Yan received when she handed out invitations in her office was similar. Wu Huiling, who was closest to her, exclaimed, "You must have spent a lot of money on this, right?"
Zhou Weifang handled all the details of the wedding banquet; Luo Yan only participated in deciding on the menu.
She told the truth: "I'm not quite sure, it was all decided by my boyfriend."
It's true that those who run their own businesses are thriving. Wu Huiling said, "Every day when I pass by the shop, there are crowds of people."
Zhou Weifang now frequents the Transportation Bureau, and after the New Year, he finally found a good location nearby to open a branch. The signboard was up in no time.
Luo Yan kept in mind that things were different at work and at school, and unlike her brother who loudly proclaimed this when he was driving, there are no secrets in the world, and soon everyone knew.
Since that's the case, Zhou Weifang doesn't shy away from the idea. He'll send over some seasonal fruits whenever possible so everyone can try them, as a way of doing favors for his girlfriend.
Sifang Fruit Shop is no small name; after all, it has ten branches of varying sizes. Therefore, everyone in the unit knows that Luo Yan from the Planning Department has a wealthy boyfriend.
But now it seems that it's more than just a little money.
Knowing there would be no shortage of discussion, Luo Yan thoughtfully left the office after sending the message, leaving everyone with space to talk.
She first went to the personnel department to get a letter of introduction for obtaining her marriage certificate, and then went to the logistics department to collect a red basin, which was a benefit given by the company to newlywed employees.
After finishing all that, she wrapped up her work, and the day was over.
Perhaps she had something to do, because she didn't notice anything happening on Tuesday and Wednesday, as if the days had passed in the blink of an eye.
Thursday was a big day; Luo Yan and Zhou Weifang were going to get their marriage certificate.
After they finished breakfast, they set off separately, checking their belongings at the entrance of the district government building before going inside.
The office on the first floor has more than a dozen windows, each responsible for different matters.
After filling out the form, Luo Yan looked around in the marriage registration line and said, "I hope I won't be too late."
Zhou Weifang had already calculated it: "My mother-in-law's train arrives at noon, it will only be later, not earlier."
Especially in the south, this is the rainy season, and the chances of stopping halfway are very high.
Luo Yan knew this too, and suddenly touched her chest: "I don't think I'm anxious, I'm nervous."
Zhou Weifang showed her his palms: "They're sweaty."
At the end of April, there was still a slight chill in the air.
Luo Yan felt perfectly fine wearing just a red collared long shirt today, but seeing him dressed in a suit and tie, she laughed and said, "You're wearing two layers, of course you're hot."
Before it was his turn, Zhou Weifang unbuttoned the top button and loosened his collar to let some fresh air out.
Luo Yan's gaze fell on his Adam's apple, but she felt embarrassed to look at it. She thought to herself: Maybe it's because his action looks too much like a hooligan, and I'm afraid of hooligans.
She said, "Why don't you take off your coat?"
Zhou Weifang declared righteously, "This is a complete set."
When has he ever cared so much about his clothes? Luo Yan: "I'm not taking any photos today."
They've already had their wedding photos taken at the photo studio, so we can just bring them over and use them.
Zhou Weifang whispered in her ear, "Don't you think we look good together? I need to let everyone see that we're a perfect match."
He rarely dressed so formally. Luo Yan was somewhat mesmerized by him when she tried him on, and he teased her for a long time. Now, glancing sideways at his watch, he said, "It takes five minutes to complete a pair, so we have ten minutes left."
There are still ten minutes left. Zhou Weifang has been hoping for a title for so many years, and now it will finally be protected by law. He feels that every second is like an eternity, and he mutters to himself, "Another hundred years."
Luo Yan knew him too well and said helplessly, "Your calculations are getting more and more outrageous!"
Is it exaggerated? Zhou Weifang didn't think so at all, and subconsciously took his girlfriend's hand.
The crackdown began last August and is only now gradually coming to an end.
But this window is for registering marriages, and there are quite a few couples getting intimate there, and nobody seems to care to say a word.
Luo Yan actually wanted to get closer to him at this moment and let him lead her.
The two of them took another step forward, and it was finally their turn to complete the formalities.
Whether it was a deliberate arrangement or not, the registration staff also had a cheerful, round face, and dimples would appear when they spoke, showing their complete passion for this job.
She first asked a few businesslike questions, and after verifying the photos and supporting documents, she smiled broadly and said, "I wish you a long and happy marriage, and that you will be forever united in heart."
Zhou Weifang was prepared and took out a bag of wedding candy, placing it down: "Thank you."
He carried a lot of things with him to deal with various situations, such as asking the uncle next to him to take a picture for them with a pack of cigarettes.
Luo Yan brought her camera with her today, and she was very generous with the film, saying, "Could you please take a few more pictures for us?"
She and Zhou Weifang held their marriage certificates in their hands, both of them grinning foolishly.
After laughing, Luo Yan said, "You keep it safe, don't let it get stolen at the train station later."
Zhou Weifang's coat had an inner pocket, which he carefully placed inside. Anyone who didn't know better would think he was hiding some precious treasure.
Luo Yan: "With that expression on your face, if I were a thief, I would definitely steal from you."
Zhou Weifang wasn't afraid: "We've already received it, it's all registered in the file, you are my wife."
After saying that, he leaned closer and asked, "Isn't that right, wife?"
Luo Yan couldn't change her mind as quickly as he did, so she bit her lip and said, "Let me think about it some more."
Zhou Weifang didn't urge her, only muttering, "I'll let you call."
Luo Yan didn't hear clearly, but when she glanced at him, his eyes were exceptionally clear.
Zhou Weifang pinched her cheek: "Let's go to the train station."
They each rode a motorcycle there because several of their elders were terribly carsick, and the distance from the train station to the hotel was quite a distance.
When Luo Yan arrived, she saw her brother's motorcycle, parked her car next to it, paid the fee, and got a wooden tag from the old man watching the motorcycle. The tags were a pair, and the old man would tie the other one to the handlebars. The tags had to match when she picked up the motorcycle.
Fearing the tag would also be lost, Luo Yan stuffed all her belongings into Zhou Weifang's hands, saying, "Watch out, thieves love stealing from me."
They clearly think she's easy to bully.
No matter how strong the crackdown is, train stations are still a hotbed for petty theft. Zhou Weifang put his things away and held out his hand: "Then we'd better hold hands tightly."
There were too many people at the train station, and it was easy to get separated if you didn't hold hands. Luo Yan was stepped on three times just as she reached the exit, and she hopped to her brother.
She asked, "Where are Mom and Dad?"
After having breakfast, Luo Hong stayed with his parents and said, "Dad can't stand anymore, so I'll ask Mom to find a place for him to sit down. It's only a few o'clock."
Seeing him start swinging his legs, Luo Yan said, "I don't think you can stand up anymore. Sit down with them for a while, we'll wait."
Luo Hong began reminiscing about the past: "When I went to work in the countryside in northern Shaanxi..."
Then her tone changed to: "It's been more than ten years already, time flies."
The educated youth boarded the train here back then. Luo Yan accompanied her parents to see her brother off. Afraid that he would feel bad, she gritted her teeth and didn't shed a single tear. On the way home, she started to cry loudly.
After her brother left, she felt that the train station was the most annoying place in the world, and she would rather take a detour than pass by it.
Looking back now, kids were so much fun.
Luo Yan said, "I advise you to stop mentioning that you're almost thirty lately."
Luo Hong shook his head: "Even the way your dad looked at me this morning was strange."
What do you mean by "your dad"? Luo Yan: "It's like he's not your dad."
Luo Hong couldn't say for sure: "It looks like I'll be kicked out of the house soon. You promised I could stay in your study anytime."
Accommodation was not a problem, but Zhou Weifang felt that if he dared to come during the first three months of their marriage, she would definitely kick him out, giving him a "kind" smile: "You are welcome anytime."
Luo Hong saw through everything, punched his childhood friend, glanced at the clock tower and said, "There's still half an hour left, I'll go ask if this train is on time."
He went to ask, and half an hour had passed by the time he returned.
The parents reappeared at the exit, craning their necks to examine their daughter's marriage certificate.
Luo Hong didn't dare ask what was so interesting about this thing, he only said, "We're almost there, listen carefully."
With all this noise, who can hear what the broadcast is saying?
The harder Luo Yan tried, the less she could tell. She pressed down on Zhou Weifang's shoulder, stood on tiptoe, and strained to hear him.
Luo Hong laughed at her: "I've only ever heard of standing tall so you can see far, but I've never heard of being tall so you can hear far."
Luo Yan snorted: "That's right, you two big idiots just stood there and didn't hear anything."
No, how can there be a crime of collective punishment?
But considering that some of his childhood friends might also suffer, Zhou Weifang didn't dare to refute and even took a step back.
Luo Hong said of him, "He's a good-for-nothing."
Zhou Weifang said matter-of-factly, "Aren't you afraid of messing with her?"
That doesn't make sense, does it, Luo Yan? "Am I that fierce or scary?"
Zhou Weifang: "She is very cute, gentle, and kind."
My God, even Luo Hong dared not listen to this, and he rubbed the goosebumps on his arms and moved away.
Luo Yan was a little embarrassed and pinched Zhou Weifang's arm: "Speak properly."
Zhou Weifang also complained: "Now people aren't even allowed to speak the truth anymore."
Luo Yan couldn't help but laugh, giving him a coquettish glance: "Be serious, Mother-in-law will be here soon."
Half an hour passed after she said that, and finally some familiar figures appeared in her sight.
Liu Yinfeng excitedly tried to walk forward, but was stopped by the staff and could only wave her hand vigorously.
We finally bumped into each other, and it was all in a local dialect that none of us could understand.
Only his eldest and third cousins, who had accompanied him, spoke Mandarin and told Luo Hong about the journey.
But this wasn't a good place to catch up, so the group took motorcycles and taxis and went their separate ways to the Beijing Hotel.
Luo Yan carried her aunt, whom she had only met a few times, with the aunt holding her tightly around the waist, slowing her pace further and further until they finally arrived, moving even slower than a tortoise.
Luo Hong was already leading the others to check in. After getting out of the car, his aunt grabbed her niece's hand tightly and asked in broken Mandarin, "Stay here? How much will it cost?"
There were nine of them in total, and their home was definitely not enough to accommodate them. Although there was a guesthouse at the entrance of the alley, the conditions were really basic.
Luo Hong figured that since the wedding banquet was going to be held here anyway, and it was only a little over a kilometer from his home, he might as well book his accommodation here as well.
It's expensive, definitely expensive.
But this money is only meant to be spent once in a lifetime. He explained to his two uncles, who came with him in broken dialect, that the elders were saying things like "just sleep on the floor."
No matter how eloquent Luo Hong and Zhou Weifang were, they couldn't communicate due to the language barrier, so they had to rely on their two cousins.
After a lot of trouble, we finally got the check-in done and everyone sat down for lunch.
At lunch, Luo Yan sat next to her mother-in-law, who kept nagging and giving her a lot of instructions.
Luo Yan didn't understand a word, but she still obediently nodded in agreement and had food and shrimp peeled for her, which made the relatives laugh.
She blinked blankly, and Liu Yinfeng explained to her daughter, "Your mother-in-law said it's good to have five or six children, and you agreed, you silly girl."
Some people were already laughing, but now everyone is laughing.
But Zhou Weifang was the only one glared at, and thought to himself: Fine, I'm the only one here who's involved in this, I admit it.
Luo Yan knew that her elders were just holding onto outdated ideas, and suddenly remembered that she had a camera in her bag. She said, "Let's take a picture."
We should take some good photos of this, since this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Beijing.
In the afternoon, all the men went to prepare for the wedding, while only Liu Yinfeng and her daughter accompanied the relatives to take photos at various scenic spots.
After using up five rolls of film in a day and a half, Luo Yan finally ushered in her big day.
Saturday morning, just as dawn was breaking.
Luo Yan woke up early, touched the edge of her bed in a daze, took a deep breath and opened the door.
Her parents had gotten up even earlier than her and were checking their daughter's dowry for any problems. When they saw her come out, they said, "Why didn't you sleep a little longer? There's so much to do today."
Luo Yan yawned: "I can't sleep."
Luo Hong could sleep well, but this wasn't the time to stay in bed.
He came in from the yard, rubbing his face, and said, "It's definitely going to be a nice day today."
Luo Yan didn't expect to be the last one. After washing up, she ate steamed buns while listening to her mother give her instructions.
Liu Yinfeng: "These red envelopes in your bag are for the children when serving tea; don't mix them with the ones you received. Keep a close eye on these gold coins you're wearing, and have Yingying and Huifang keep an eye on them for you. Make sure you count them correctly when you take them off. This dress is for Sanfang's maternal grandmother, and..."
Fortunately, Luo Yan has a good memory, otherwise she would have been completely disoriented.
She wrote everything down in her mind, her indescribable emotions filled with worldly concerns.
When the relatives came, it was even more spectacular, because the uncles all got their niece a gold ring.
Northern Anhui is poor, and the Liu family only has one wealthy relative. They received a lot of help in the past, and now that their lives are a bit better, they can't be careless about such an important matter.
Liu Yinfeng knew what kind of family she came from, so she kept pushing and shoving.
Luo Yan couldn't stay out of it, yet she couldn't get involved either, when suddenly a red envelope was slipped into her hand. She blinked and realized it was from her mother-in-law, exchanged a knowing look with the old woman, and then put it away.
Finally, her left hand was still covered in rings. Afraid of losing them, she clenched her fist and dared not make any big movements. She went back to her room and changed into her cheongsam first.
Wu Huifang was eager to have her eyebrows done, so she arrived early. Upon seeing the room full of people, she greeted them and followed her friend into the room, saying, "This is the first time I've seen so many people at your house."
To be honest, Luo Yan whispered, "This is my first time too."
As the two were talking, Chen Yingying arrived.
They were all girls of similar age. Although they had never met before, they were able to start talking to each other quickly because someone acted as a bridge between them.
After drawing her eyebrows, Luo Yan tied her hair up, and the braids hung obediently on her shoulders.
She added a small red hair clip, applied lipstick, and looked at herself in the mirror with satisfaction, but then felt a little nervous when her eyes glanced at her watch.
Wu Huifang noticed and asked, "What time will you be coming to pick up the bride?"
Luo Yan: "Around nine o'clock."
While he still remembered, he asked, "Do you want to come along, or ride your bikes?"
Both girls said, "We'll ride our bikes, otherwise we'll have to come to your house for dinner again."
Luo Yan guessed that was true, and said, "It's apartment 202, Unit 3, Post and Telecommunications Family Compound, the one with the 'double happiness' character on the door. We still need to walk around the street a bit more, so if you arrive early, please wait a bit."
The two girls nodded in unison, indicating that she had guests.
It was Li Jianhong and Zheng Sanmei who came; they came specifically to give her a gift.
There was no reason to refuse on such a day, so Luo Yan accepted it all. After chatting with the others for a few minutes, she suddenly heard the sound of firecrackers and asked nervously, "Is it here?"
Outside, people were shouting that they were coming. Li Jianhong reacted the fastest, closing the door to the room: "The three parties definitely won't be stingy with red envelopes today."
It's harmless to join in the festive atmosphere and celebrate.
Luo Yan could see Zhou Weifang handing out red envelopes to everyone he met through the crack in the window. She said, "Don't you think he's being silly?"
Li Jianhong knew them both well and said, "Indeed, you could see their teeth when they smiled."
Zhou Weifang was more than happy; he was so excited he wanted to burst into song as soon as he got up. But when he entered the living room, he said with a slightly serious expression, "Big Brother."
The group of childhood friends who came to pick up the bride all teased, "Just calling him 'Big Brother' isn't sincere enough."
Zhou Weifang immediately took out a red envelope, but Luo Hong stopped him with his hand. He wanted to say a few words but couldn't. He patted the groom's shoulder and turned his face to let him in.
The last hurdle was getting to the bedroom door. Zhou Weifang pleaded with her and gave her a generous red envelope before he finally got to see the bride.
When he first saw Luo Yan in a cheongsam, he was stunned for a moment and was teased: "You're completely mesmerized."
Luo Yan also called him a fool and stretched out her hand for him to hold.
Zhou Weifang reacted quickly at this moment, but unconsciously tightened his grip, and the two stood side by side in front of the woman's elders.
According to custom, the groom should also offer tea, address the bride by name, and receive a red envelope.
Zhou Weifang first offered a toast to her mother-in-law, who just smiled and didn't say anything. Then she offered a toast to her father-in-law and mother-in-law.
Liu Yinfeng choked up as soon as she opened her mouth: "Okay, you two are both doing well."
At just this one sentence, Luo Yan couldn't hold back anymore, and tears streamed down her face.
She knew this would happen, and covered her eyes with a handkerchief.
Zhou Weifang hurriedly comforted her: "It's okay, it's okay, we'll come back tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and the day after that, we'll come back every day, okay?"
With so many people around, Luo Yan simply nudged him and said, "You can toast as you please."
At this point, Zhou Weifang could only follow the proper procedures and promise his parents-in-law, "I will definitely not let Yanyan suffer any injustice."
Luo Xinmin was afraid that his daughter would cry even harder, so he swallowed back any words of advice he might have, and gently patted his wife twice to comfort her.
In the end, it was still Luo Hong who was honored.
He finished his tea without saying a word, then half-squatted down to gesture for his sister to come up.
Because of the differences between boys and girls, Luo Yan could hardly remember the last time she had clung to her brother's back; her tears had almost soaked his shoulder.
Luo Hong teased her, "These clothes of mine don't need to be washed."
He added, "I see you've gained weight recently."
Luo Yan sobbed and retorted, "No, I didn't."
She couldn't help but want to look back at her parents, but Luo Hong seemed to sense it and said, "Don't look. Come back tomorrow. This is still your home."
Zhou Weifang quickly agreed, "If you want, we can come back every day."
Luo Yan knew this, but she always felt that something was different, and finally couldn't help but look back while sitting in the wedding car.
The convoy only stopped at the entrance of the alley. According to the rules, the parents could only sit at home. From her angle, all she could see was her brother's increasingly smaller figure.
Zhou Weifang didn't even care that there was a driver present, and he ran out saying all sorts of nice things, handing her the red envelope he had just received: "Count it."
Luo Yan loved counting red envelopes and smiled genuinely. But then she realized there were still people around, and a feeling of embarrassment took over. She stopped, sobbing.
Fortunately, the wedding car would take half an hour to drive around the city. When she arrived at the bridal chamber, her eyes were still red. She saw her two friends standing in the carport waiting and smiled broadly, gesturing for them to follow her upstairs.
Wu Huifang and Chen Yingying had expected to see many of the groom's relatives there, so they were quite surprised to find the place empty. They asked in a low voice, "Don't you need to serve tea?"
Luo Yan: "A toast will be offered before the banquet begins tonight."
Originally, she was supposed to go to her in-laws' house after the wedding, but Zhou Weifang didn't have a room there. The only place he could temporarily vacate for her was a small space. He didn't think that was a home, and he didn't want Luo Yan to sit there all day. Regardless of whether her parents agreed or not, he made the arrangement.
Luo Yan was naturally comfortable with this arrangement.
She poured tea for her friends while calling out to the people who were helping to carry the dowry.
The group that came were all childhood friends from the alley, and everyone spoke to each other without any formalities.
Li Jianjun said, "We're here to get things done today, so we'll have plenty of good wine, good food, and good cigarettes from all three sides."
Luo Yan didn't stand on ceremony with them and just took good care of her friends.
The three girls huddled together, seemingly having something to say but not quite. Seeing this, Zhou Weifang felt relieved and said, "Yanyan, I'll see them off and then go back to the alley; I have a few relatives there."
Luo Yan looked up at him: "Don't I need to go back?"
Zhou Weifang smiled slyly: "The bride cannot leave the room before the banquet begins."
So he had already planned it all out. Luo Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Then take it easy."
Zhou Wei was very considerate and apologized to the guests: "I've been so busy today that I haven't been able to take good care of you. The fruit, drinks, and snacks are all here. Please sit with Yan Yan for a while. I'll treat you two to a meal another day."
He added, "I'll bring lunch over later, it might be a little late. Yan Yan, there's food in the fridge, have some if you're hungry."
He was in a hurry to leave, and after giving these instructions, he ran off in a flash.
With only three people left in the room, Wu Huifang was a little unsure: "Yanyan, are you really sure you can stay away?"
They are all the closest people to me. Luo Yan spoke frankly: "His parents are not very satisfied with me now. If I go there, who knows what will happen."
Dissatisfied? Wu Huifang and Chen Yingying both objected: "Why should we?"
If you asked Luo Yan to figure it out herself, she probably wouldn't be able to.
But she had many wise people who advised her, saying, "After we got engaged, Zhou Weifang would come home with me three times a week for meals. His relationship with his parents has always been so-so; they can't even sit down for two meals a year. There are a lot of rumors going around in the alley, which makes his parents unhappy. But their son is their own, so it can only be my fault."
This last sentence is too common. Chen Yingying: "My mother always says that my sister-in-law instigated it, but I don't think my brother is a good person either."
Everyone would think that way. Luo Yan said, "Two months ago, when his maternal grandmother celebrated her birthday, we went together. His aunt kept saying things like daughters-in-law should be filial, and that they used to fetch water for their mothers-in-law to wash their feet, and never talk back even when they were beaten or scolded. Zhou Weifang almost overturned the table at that time, and he was quite unhappy."
Despite the commotion, Wu Huifang said, "Luckily, he's on your side."
Luo Yan nodded and said, "I'm actually fine, but he's not happy. He always feels that I never get upset at home, but only suffer at Lao Zhou's house."
She laughed after saying that: "No wonder everyone in my office says that after getting married, they start talking badly about their in-laws."
How can this be considered bad talk? Wu Huifang said, "Your family is small, and every family has these kinds of problems. We are a family of scholars, but even a family of scholars has a basket of rotten fruit."
Despite not being able to laugh, Luo Yan couldn't help herself and continued chatting about everyday matters, from before lunch until the start of the meal.
Lunch was brought back by Zhou Weifang, and the four of them ate together.
After dinner, he went out again and picked up three people at four o'clock to go to the hotel.
All of Lao Zhou's relatives, both by name and surname, were present. Luo Yan offered tea to each of them and addressed them respectfully, and also gave red envelopes to the children.
Tiger Head from Zhou Yuyao's family has met his aunt the most times and always clings to her, wanting to be held without any hesitation.
Luo Yan couldn't do anything while wearing this cheongsam today, so she could only pat his head and ask, "How about next time?"
Tiger Head immediately tried to cheat, but his mother grabbed him and dragged him away.
Zhou Yuyao: "Don't you dare get yourself beaten up, I'm telling you."
Luo Yan, who interacted most with the sisters, asked, "Is your brother-in-law on duty today?"
This protracted crackdown has exhausted the police officers at each station, keeping them working day and night.
Zhou Yuyao explained, "I told him to come over right after get off work, because he really couldn't get time off."
After exchanging a few words, the two headed to the entrance to greet the guests.
The two families held their banquets together. When Luo Yan saw her family, she ran towards them. Zhou Weifang was afraid she would fall, so he carefully protected her from the side, saying, "Slow down, slow down, you can't take a big step."
Luo Yan ran along, stumbling, and said to her mother, "It looks nice, but I won't wear it next time."
Regarding this child, Liu Yinfeng said, "This was originally meant for a wedding."
Saying "next time" isn't quite appropriate, Luo Yan covered her mouth, her eyes darting around.
Luo Hong breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that his younger sister had calmed down, but he teased her, "Oh, you're all better now, you little crybaby?"
Luo Yan has always been outspoken, tilting her head back and saying, "I just love to cry!"
Luo Hong was speechless. He turned to his childhood friend and said helplessly, "Look at the kind of life I lived for the first twenty-odd years of my life."
Zhou Weifang said firmly, "Good days."
"I shouldn't have said that to him," Luo Hong was about to roll his eyes when he noticed someone he knew and reminded him, "Dad, Uncle Liu is here."
Starting at five o'clock, the guests began to arrive one after another.
Luo Yan greeted him with a smile, and maintained this expression for almost the entire night, even when Zhou Weifang was drunk, it didn't change her expression at all.
Towards the end, her face was completely frozen; after seeing the guests off, she patted her own face.
Zhou Weifang leaned on his wife, half drunk and half coquettish, but judging from the fact that he could still stand, it seemed more like an act.
Luo Hong shielded his childhood friend from a lot of trouble, and was so drunk that he was dragged along by his two cousins, one on each side.
Seeing her daughter's worried expression, Liu Yinfeng said, "We're fine, how are you going to get back?"
Luo Yan: "Zhou Weifang booked a car for the whole day today, and the driver is still waiting downstairs."
He patted the person next to him and said, "Stop pretending."
Zhou Weifang had been avoiding alcohol all night, but as soon as everyone left, he perked up and said, "Mom, I'm not drunk."
That "Mom" was called out with such force and conviction.
Liu Yinfeng: "Okay, then take your time."
Luo Yan waved goodbye to her family and went downstairs to go home hand in hand with Zhou Weifang.
She had seen too many people all day, and now the world seemed so quiet. When she got home, she sat on the sofa without moving, feeling a little too tired.
Zhou Weifang, seemingly full of energy, asked her, "Want to try a water heater?"
The mere mention of taking a bath makes Luo Yan feel like she's covered in the smell of smoke and alcohol.
She went into her room to get her clothes, and only when she was taking a shower did she realize that it was her wedding night, so she dawdled.
Zhou Weifang knew she was a clean person. As she watched the clock tick by, she felt extremely uncomfortable on the sofa, so he turned on the TV to distract herself.
Luo Yan scrubbed herself until she was practically skinned alive before coming out to say, while drying her hair, "You, you go wash up."
Zhou Weifang was walking with his arms and legs moving in unison, but he forced himself to remain calm: "Okay, you can blow-dry your hair and watch some TV."
Luo Yan herself was also distracted and didn't notice at all.
The more she thought about what was going to happen, the more nervous she became. She quickly dried her hair and ran into her room.
But sitting on the bed, she felt even stranger, so she decided to go to the living room instead, and kept going back and forth between those two places.
When Zhou Weifang came out after taking a shower, he saw her sitting on the sofa watching TV, unaware that she had just made several trips.
He washed his hair, but it dried quickly with a few blow-dryers. He turned around and stared at people intently, then turned off the TV and the living room lights.
Using the sliver of light filtering through the curtains, Luo Yan noticed him leaning closer and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
Zhou Weifang carried her into the room, gently placed her on the bed, stroked her hair, and called her name.
Luo Yan couldn't see anything clearly, only vaguely sensing his outline, and couldn't help but want to get closer to him.
A small flame seemed to rise in her chest, and her breathing quickened involuntarily. She called out in a coquettish tone, "Zhou Weifang."
Zhou Weifang didn't want to scare her, but upon hearing her voice, his rationality completely collapsed, and his hands were led by his emotions as he coaxed her, "I'll be gentler."
Why did she say "lighter"? Luo Yan was actually completely unaware of everything. She instinctively gripped the sheets, but quickly had no time to think about it.
She was overwhelmed with emotions she had never known before, calling out Zhou Weifang's name haphazardly, as if she knew he could fulfill all her desires.
Even the last vestiges of Zhou Weifang's reason were almost completely extinguished by these murmurs. All the dreams he had had came true tonight, to the point that he couldn't stop himself from having them.
