Chapter 125 The Blood Moon Returns

Tears welled up in Sam's eyes. He gritted his teeth, endured the pain and fear, and dared not make a sound.

Peter raised his head, took a deep breath, and tried to straighten his expression, making himself look as calm as possible. He slowly walked over to Nicholas.

"Why did you bring Sam here so late?" Nicholas frowned, his eyes full of confusion.

Peter forced a smile that looked strange in the dim light. He whispered, "Diana asked me to take your place on the night watch. As for Sam, I want to train his courage."

Nicholas was stunned: "Diana?" He was full of doubts. Diana did not inform him in advance about the change of shift.

"Yes, she was worried about something happening at night, so she asked me to take over." Pete lied in a flat tone, but his eyes flickered unconsciously.

Nicholas looked at Pete suspiciously for a few seconds, thinking quickly in his mind.

Peter had been one of the guards, and now that a distinguished guest had arrived at the camp, Diana's impromptu order seemed reasonable. Besides, Peter had no reason to lie to him and leave. Thinking of this, he dispelled his doubts.

"Okay, I'll leave it to you." Nicholas nodded, without thinking any further, put away his weapon, and prepared to leave.

However, the moment he turned around——

“Puff!”

With a flash of cold light, a sharp machete stabbed into his neck fiercely! Nicholas turned around in disbelief, staring at Pete with wide eyes, making vague sounds of struggle. Blood continued to flow from the wound, gathering into a dark red pool on the ground.

Pete drew his knife without hesitation and stabbed him again.

Nicholas' body twitched, and he finally collapsed to the ground, his eyes filled with resentment. He never imagined that Peter would suddenly and inexplicably do such a cruel thing to him.

Pete took a deep breath, picked up the assault rifle in Nicholas's hand, then walked to the gate of the community and slowly pulled the gate open with both hands.

Outside the community gate, there was a dead silence. Only a few scattered zombies were wandering around, their low roars sounding particularly terrifying in the silent night.

"Xu Mo...and that bitch, just wait for me..." Looking at the zombies outside the community gate, a crazy smile appeared on Pete's face.

He thought about it and realized that it would not be enough for him to kill Xu Mo and Jie Qian alone, even with a gun, so he had to rely on other forces to help him - such as zombies!

As long as he seduces the zombies and lets them break into the community, the couple will surely die.

However, before he could feel proud for long, the dark clouds in the sky suddenly parted. A crimson blood moon appeared in the sky, shrouding the entire community in an eerie red glow.

Pete's smile froze, a hint of panic in his eyes. "Damn it... Why is it a blood moon..." His face paled instantly, and his body began to tremble slightly. He had experienced a blood moon before, and knew that under a blood moon, the zombies would become extremely frantic and bloodthirsty. No one could remain unscathed on the night of a blood moon.

"Go!" He suddenly grabbed Sam and dragged him madly towards the community garage. The footsteps echoed in the silent night, as if it was a countdown to death.
