Chapter 17 Meeting

When the others saw Daryl and More walking towards the camp arm in arm, they were stunned for a moment, then looked at each other helplessly.

Their eyes were full of helplessness, and the corners of their mouths were slightly turned down, as if they were somewhat accustomed to the two people's self-willed style of doing things, but they could do nothing about it.

Xu Mo also raised his head at this time, and his eyes swept over Sean, Rick, Glenn, Dale and others in turn, and said seriously:

"Sean, Glenn, and Dale, please gather the rest of the camp. I have something important to tell you."

His voice was steady and powerful, with an unquestionable tone that made people feel the urgency of the matter.

When Sean, Rick, Dale, Glenn and others heard this, they all looked puzzled.

They frowned slightly, their eyes full of confusion, and they were secretly wondering what Xu Mo was up to.

Although they were a little confused, they did not ask why. They just exchanged glances with each other and turned around to gather other people in the camp.

Their movements were quite efficient. After all, in this apocalypse, no one dared to ignore important unknown things.

Soon, everyone else in the camp was gathered in a large open space in the middle.

Everyone looked at each other, their eyes filled with curiosity and a little uneasiness, not knowing what they were about to face.

"Xu Mo, what important matter is it that has brought us all here?" Sean looked at Xu Mo and spoke first.

There was a scrutiny in his eyes, and he tilted his head slightly, as if trying to find some clues from Xu Mo's expression.

As Sean finished speaking, everyone else in the camp turned their gazes to Xu Mo, their eyes filled with a complex mixture of expectation and confusion.

"It's a major matter concerning the safety of the team." Xu Mo replied.

His expression was solemn and he looked at everyone firmly, trying to make them realize the seriousness of the matter.

A major matter concerning the safety of the team?

Xu Mo's words instantly caused a huge stir in the crowd. The other people around him suddenly became a little uneasy and began to whisper and talk among themselves.

Their faces showed nervous expressions, their brows were furrowed, their eyes were full of worry, and they were all wondering what kind of safety issue it was.

"Is Xu Mo serious? Is it really such a serious matter?" Glenn looked at Xu Mo with some suspicion. As he spoke, he leaned forward slightly, with a look of doubt in his eyes.

He wondered if Xu Mo was being too cautious, after all, the camp had been relatively safe during this period.

Xu Mo nodded, then said slowly:

"After my observation of our camp, I found that the security of our camp is too low. There is no wall, no one patrolling during the day, and no one guarding at night."

As he spoke, he pointed around the camp, asking everyone to look at the unprotected environment, his eyes full of worry.

"You all know what happened just now, right? There are already zombies appearing near the camp."

His eyes swept across everyone's faces one by one, hoping that everyone could recall the thrilling scene.

"Although there is only one, it is enough to make us alert."

He raised his tone a little, trying to arouse everyone's sense of crisis.

"When I was surviving in the city, I saw many zombies leaving the city and going to the wild countryside."

He raised his head slightly, as if he saw the terrifying scene in the city again, and a trace of fear flashed in his eyes.

"Just imagine what would happen if dozens or even hundreds of zombies attacked our camp right now?"

Xu Mo's eyes became serious and deep. He looked at everyone, as if he wanted to convey that horrible imaginary scene to everyone's heart.

"Hiss—" Hearing what Xu Mo said, everyone present took a deep breath and their faces turned pale in an instant.

The horrifying scene of hordes of zombies pouring into the camp involuntarily emerged in their minds. They felt a surge of fear and realized that if such a thing really happened, they would be in great danger.

“Is this true?!”

"Are there really zombies here!?"

"It's hard to say, probably not..."

"What if zombies really come?!"

For a moment, everyone in the camp was talking at once, in a panic. Fear and anxiety were in everyone's eyes, and some even began to look around, as if zombies were about to appear.

Seeing the panicked looks of the others, Xu Mo also spoke at the right time: "So, we need a safe place to build a safe haven."

As he spoke, he calmly took out a map from his pocket, unfolded it with a steady hand, and gently placed it in front of everyone. He pointed to a circled area on it and repeated what he had said to Amy last night:

"There's a prison here. It has tall walls, sturdy buildings, and several tall watchtowers. Most importantly, there's open land within the walls that we can use for planting and breeding."

There was a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes, hoping that everyone would be attracted by this beautiful idea, and his tone became a little lighter, as if that was the place of hope for everyone's future.

"As long as we occupy this place, even though it's difficult to return to the situation before the disaster, it will at least be much better than living in the open air now."

He raised his head slightly and looked at everyone, trying to make everyone feel the superiority of that place compared to the current camp.
