This story encompasses themes of apocalypse, a system, the world of The Walking Dead, rectifying past regrets, and features a non-single female lead (reader discretion advised).
Xu Mo transmi...
Department store.
The sunlight gently fell on Xu Mo's face. He slowly opened his eyes, which were still hazy from just waking up.
He stretched his body, stretched his muscles, then exerted force with his legs, jumped down like an agile cheetah, and landed steadily on the rooftop.
He walked to the parapet, put his hands on the edge of the wall, and leaned over to look down.
Most of the zombies that were active last night had fallen into dormancy again. Only a few scattered zombies were left wandering aimlessly on the streets.
"It's time to get to work." He whispered to himself, a look of determination in his eyes.
He took out water and bread from the system space and had breakfast casually.
Then, he gripped the machete tightly in his hand and walked towards the alley outside the department store with steady steps.
As expected, many zombies appeared in the alley where he killed all the zombies yesterday.
Xu Mo wasn't worried about not meeting Rick, Glenn, and the others. In his mind, according to the original storyline, the abandoned quarry and Rick would definitely end up in this department store. Unless, of course, this wasn't the world of The Walking Dead.
But he firmly believed that this was the place, because if this were the world of The Walking Dead, Rick would come to Atlanta and shoot, and the sound of gunfire would definitely cause quite a stir. At that time, as long as he heard the gunshot, he would immediately return to the department store.
at the same time
Abandoned quarry camp.
On an open flat ground, Sean gathered with other people from the quarry.
Sean's eyes slowly swept over everyone in the camp, his expression serious. He then spoke, "Everyone, our camp is running low on daily necessities. Someone has to go to the city to collect some necessities."
"Ed, Daryl, Jim, and I went there last time."
"This time, it's just Maul, Morales, T-boy, and Glenn. The four of you will go. Is that okay?"
"No." Glenn, T-boy, and Morales responded almost in unison.
Sean then looked at the silent More and asked, "More, what about you?"
Moore said with a nonchalant look on his face, "As you say, officer."
"Then let's set off immediately." Sean gave the order.
"Wait, we two are willing to go too." As soon as Sean finished speaking, Andrea and Jacqui stood up, with determination in their eyes.
Sean looked them both up and down and said seriously, "It's very dangerous in the city. You must be aware of the risks."
"If something happens to you, we may not be able to rush to rescue you in time."
Andrea and Jacqui looked at each other, then looked at Sean and said firmly, "We are all mentally prepared. There is nothing for us to do here. We might as well go out and find supplies and make more contributions."
Seeing that the two were determined, Sean stopped trying to stop them and said, "Then you two, just follow them."
In his opinion, the more people go out to look for supplies, the greater the help to the camp will be, and this is what he hopes to see.
Soon, two cars slowly drove away from the abandoned quarry.
The other side
Kings County Police Department.
Rick looked at the Morgans with a hint of expectation in his eyes and asked, "You really won't come with me?"
Morgan touched his head with his hand, thought for a moment, and said, "Let's talk about it later. When Dwayne learns how to shoot, I can cheer up again."
After hearing this, Rick stopped trying to persuade Morgan. He turned around, took a radio from the police car, and handed it to Morgan.
After saying a few simple goodbyes to Morgan, Rick got into the police car and drove towards Atlanta.
About half an hour later
Morales parked his car in an uninhabited lot outside Atlanta.
More, who was following closely behind Morales, also quickly stopped his car.
Moore angrily got out of the car and immediately demanded, "Hey, Morales, what did you stop the car for!?"
Morales explained slowly, "If we go any further, we might alert the zombies in the city."
"If we alert the zombies, not only will we not be able to loot any supplies, we might even lose our lives here."
"Of course, Moore, if you don't think it's a big deal, you can drive directly into the city."
After hearing what seemed reasonable from Morales, Moore spread his hands and said, "OK, OK, you make sense, so be it."
Moore had no objection, and naturally no one else had any objection either.
Morales looked at Glenn and said, "Glenn, you used to be a delivery boy in Atlanta. You know the way around here. You can lead the way."
"This..." Glenn looked around and found that everyone's eyes were focused on him.
After hesitating for a moment, he nodded and said, "Okay."
Soon, led by Glenn, the group headed towards downtown Atlanta.
"Everyone, look!" As soon as Glenn turned from a deserted street into an alley, he shouted to others with a look of shock on his face.
"Glenn, what happened?" Andrea and Morales were the first to rush to Glenn's side.
But when they saw the scene in the alley, they also showed shocked expressions on their faces.
"What happened that made you look like that?" Moore and others also walked over with curiosity.
Then they saw a shocking scene.
