Chapter 62 Going to the prison, arriving at the prison

"Let's go?" Xu Mo looked at the others outside the RV, slightly startled, a look of surprise on his face. "Have you all packed your belongings and luggage?" He glanced at everyone, trying to find the answer from their expressions.

"We were ready last night, just waiting for your order." Carol stepped forward and said firmly. Her eyes were full of loyalty and trust, as if Xu Mo's order was the direction to move forward.

Xu Mo's gaze lingered on Carol for a moment as he heard this. He narrowed his eyes slightly, and the image of Carol from the original novel emerged in his mind.

In the original series, Carol experienced the deaths of Ed and Sophia before finally transforming into the later female killer and winning the title of "Carol".

There is a saying that goes, in the early stage, people cry when Ka Ma dies, and in the later stage, people die when Ka Ma cries.

He just didn't know if Carol could transform into the female killer she would become later, even though he had changed the ending of Sophia's death. He pondered in his heart, a hint of curiosity flashing in his eyes.

After thinking for half a second, Xu Mo withdrew his gaze from Carol and looked at the other people in the camp. He said with a firm look:

"Since everyone is ready, let's set off immediately. The sooner we capture the prison, the sooner we can move in." His voice was loud and powerful, as if conveying the belief that he would win to everyone.

"Yes!" With Xu Mo's command, everyone's spirits lifted and they began to move. Their eyes were filled with fighting spirit, as if they were about to rush into a glorious battle.

Soon, vehicles drove away from the farm one after another, and the roar of their engines intertwined, as if playing a marching melody.

———

A few hours later.

Outside the prison gate.

To the right of the prison gate stood a stone pillar inscribed with "West Georgia Correctional Institution." Everyone's gaze was drawn to it, their eyes filled with curiosity and anticipation.

Looking at the prison before them, everyone became excited, their faces filled with joyful smiles, as if they saw hope for the future.

Outside the prison were three barbed wire fences, each with a towering guard tower at each corner. Xu Mo looked up, his eyes scrutinizing, as if assessing the strength of these defensive measures. Inside the barbed wire fences was a lawn, and within that lawn were reinforced concrete walls and guard towers, and further inside were the prison's various buildings and facilities.

As long as they captured this place, zombies and the like would no longer be something they feared! Everyone's eyes were filled with longing, as if they had already seen a safe haven.

Looking at the prison in front of him, Rick took a deep breath, an excited look on his face, and said something inspiring:

"Look, most of the zombies here are wearing guard and prisoner uniforms, which means that this prison fell a long time ago. There is a cafeteria and infirmary in the prison, which means that there are still a lot of food and medicine stored in this prison." His eyes flashed with excitement, as if he had seen the rich reserves of supplies.

"Is there an armory?" Daryl asked, frowning, his eyes filled with anxiety. There was a hint of anticipation in his voice, as if he hoped to find powerful weapons here.

"The armory is usually built outside the prison, but not too far away," Rick replied. His eyes shone with confidence, as if he knew the prison's layout.

"The warden's office should have the location of the armory. We can try our luck there," Sean added. His eyes gleamed with anticipation, as if he saw hope of finding the armory.

"Weapons, food, medicine, and a solid wall—this place is truly a perfect shelter," More said with some emotion. His eyes were filled with admiration, as if he was extremely satisfied with the conditions of the prison.

Hearing Rick and the others' conversation, the other members of the team became even more excited. Their eyes sparkled with excitement, as if they were about to have everything they needed.

Weapons, food, medicine, and a sturdy barbed wire fence were all beckoning them. Now their only obstacle was the zombies inside, dressed in prison guard uniforms and prisoner uniforms. A trace of worry flashed in everyone's eyes, but it was quickly replaced by determination.

Judging from the number, there were no fewer than a hundred zombies, but the good news was that they were all scattered. Xu Mo narrowed his eyes slightly, observing the movements in the prison, secretly calculating a countermeasure in his mind.

"Xu Mo, how are we going to take this prison? We're running low on bullets." Hershel walked over to Xu Mo, his eyes filled with worry as he looked at the nearby prison. Seeing the prison, he felt even more strongly that accepting Xu Mo's invitation had been a wise decision. But now, his eyes were filled with worry, as taking this prison remained a difficult problem.

Rick, Sean, Daryl, Glenn and others also looked at Xu Mo. Their eyes were full of expectation, as if Xu Mo was the one who could lead them out of the predicament.

The blood moon the night before had essentially depleted their ammunition reserves. Now, facing so many zombies in the prison, they might be out of ammunition before even half of them are gone. Their eyes were filled with helplessness and worry, as if they were trapped in a desperate situation.
