Chapter 13 Breaking the Rules

One side of the training ground's wall collapsed, revealing a square passageway. Several transport trucks equipped with cranes filed into the passageway, carrying a large number of black panels. Workers, manipulating numerous engineering robots, climbed down from the trucks and began installing the panels.

Soon, the scrap metal was piled in one corner of the training ground, while the remaining area was completely covered with the plates. The control room's observation windows were also replaced, this time with thicker, multi-layered explosion-proof glass.

A convex-shaped device was transported to the center of the venue. Its upper structure was a long square tube that looked like some kind of laser weapon.

Near the far wall, a series of trusses made of white and brown ceramic blocks were installed. These blocks, processed into hexagonal shapes, were now tightly laid out on the trusses, forming a curved surface approximately 300 square meters. Behind the curved surface, there were piles of sandbags, and behind these sandbags, thick steel plates were assembled.

They spray-painted some cross-shaped positioning dots on the curved surface and then aimed the video camera at those marks.

Many tasks were performed by incredibly precise robots, so the installation process didn't take too long. A few hours later, another electromagnetic cannon was delivered.

"Is there anything I can do?" Jiang Ling was at a loss as she couldn't understand their intentions.

"If you can, please help load the shells later."

"Is this the only reason you kept me here?"

"Not entirely... Mainly, we wanted to see the comparison, that very special psychic ability of yours."

The man handed over a terminal that was currently in use. A middle-aged male voice, slightly hoarse and with a distorted pitch, came from the built-in speaker: "Hello, I'm Qin Huang. We've been checking your information. We apologize for the inconvenience."

"How much information?" Jiang Ling asked calmly.

"All of it. Including the part before the war."

"Okay, what do you want me to do?"

"We want to know your strength." He hesitated, then continued in a negotiating tone, "At least a portion of your strength. This is related to our subsequent plans. After all, you are an unstable factor. If you hadn't been silent for two consecutive years, we might have come to you earlier."

"I need a quieter environment." Jiang Ling replied.

"Okay, please come here!" The person next to him said first, and he took Jiang Ling to an unused bathroom.

Seeing that no one was around, Jiang Ling replied, "I won't hinder you. I'm not some villain. But I haven't figured out the structure of this site yet, so I can only demonstrate one percent of my strength now. How about that?"

The sound in the terminal became noisy. After a while, a modified voice came out: "I'm glad you can cooperate. This will save a lot of trouble. However, one percent... are you sure it's one percent?"

"No, I don't know. I've never tried to use my full strength, and most problems are solved in this state!"
