How should I put it? This is a story about a dumb protagonist who transmigrates to another world, gains superpowers, and then lives a lazy life, interspersed with a bunch of weird things that pop u...
Two huge crashes, one after the other, reached everyone's ears.
The former was Li Wenjia—unable to control his own inertia—who crashed headfirst into the buildings across the street, causing considerable damage. The resulting dust covered the sky and obscured everyone's vision.
A few seconds later, another sound was heard: the sound of the building collapsing. The giant suddenly accelerated the nearly 100-pound metal spear to a speed exceeding Mach 2. The irregular surface of the spear, heated by the friction with the air, even ignited, producing a strange flame reaction.
The spear had pierced through roughly six walls and two floors, most of its mass now inactive, fused with the reinforced concrete building blocks. But a small portion escaped Earth's gravity and headed further, reaching into the clouds.
Broken Star stared intently into the distance, hoping that the rarely seen large drone would appear within his range. However, he waited and waited, and even after the smoke and dust cleared, he still didn't see the drone reappear.
He put down his longbow and rubbed his sore eyes.
The remaining drones, after completing their formation changes, stopped moving. They remained in a cubic space, their reaction speed to their surroundings significantly reduced.
What Changgu said was indeed true; hunters didn't have that level of adaptability. Granted, they were quite adept at learning. But their learning was based on their own foundation. In other words, they didn't learn to change themselves; their adaptability had its limits.
They will stop taking off and landing during storms and hide in some nooks and crannies, but they will not try to modify themselves to allow them to travel in bad weather.
They will use standard patterns to gradually explore unknown targets, using massive amounts of redundant equipment to crush their opponents. However, they do not consider what the standard pattern is, and will only evolve some irrational behaviors within that framework.
They are very rational and will not take any action if the calculated probability does not meet a certain standard. However, they are too focused on cost-effectiveness, so their vision is very short-sighted, and victory will always occur only locally.
War always belongs to mankind. War is a war between mankind, not a war of weapons.
A cry echoed from the sky. The pterosaur, which had been circling for several times, had finally returned. Those annoying little bugs had been trying to attack its wounds. It had initially considered leaving, but the bugs suddenly quieted down. Curiosity piqued its interest, so it turned back to investigate.
What a coincidence, those little bugs actually gathered together!
The Pteranodon grew increasingly ferocious, its ferocious essence once again gathering within its brain. Within its body, an unknown organ suddenly activated, generating a large amount of electrical voltage.
A ball of blue-purple electric sparks appeared on its feathers, and the arc produced by the discharge at the tip pierced the humid air. Some atmospheric components were also changed as a result, and a large amount of acidic clouds condensed behind its path.
It aimed at the drone swarm again, gathered its wings, and began to dive. It had learned the fighter jet's energy tactics without any instruction, and the drones had no time to execute emergency avoidance procedures.
This pterosaur was very experienced and its prediction was very accurate. The moment it collided with the drone swarm, the voltage in its body reached its highest point.
Golden lightning streaked across the sky, destroying all electronic components in its path.
This was practically a short, high-intensity electromagnetic pulse, a devastating blow to the drones. The swarm was completely wiped out, leaving not a single one standing.
When everyone heard the loud thunder, metal raindrops the size of air conditioner cases began to fall from the sky, creating dents of varying sizes on the ground.
Several people, stunned, stepped over the rubble and ran out of the toilet. If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they would never have believed it. They had heard that the pterosaurs could thunder, but they had never imagined it would be done in such a magical way.
The shock was indescribable, and for a moment they even wanted to kneel down and pray.
The pterosaur circled around again and again, and then, as if confirming that there were no more drones here, it finally flapped its wings a few times and flew away to the east.
It was not until then that the three heard a faint sound coming from the nearby ruins.
"Hey~ Can someone give me a hand? And bring me my clothes~"
After a while, Li Wenjia endured the swaying feeling in his crotch and caught up with the three people who had already set off from behind. He had now returned to his original appearance, and his head had grown hair again.
Changgu just nodded at him and then led the way slowly in front.
It seemed that exercise brought relaxation and pleasure, and a small amount of dopamine quickly allowed everyone to recover from their previous tension.
They jumped over several frozen streams and passed through a small forest of mushrooms, and finally returned to the city that Li Wenjia saw two days ago.
The journey was smooth and there were no accidents.
"There's a large supermarket over here. Do you want to go in and change into your underwear?"
"Ah? There's actually a building here that hasn't been destroyed?"
The building was very lucky. It was well protected by the surrounding high-rise buildings and terrain, and its low height also allowed it to survive the shock wave.
Li Wenjia followed Changgu into the supermarket through the main gate, leaving the other two to stand guard outside.
Predictably, the supermarket looked much like any other place. The food and hobby sections were a complete mess. Besides the organized looting by the military, there were undoubtedly also many survivors who frequented these places. Furthermore, the beasts might occasionally come in for a bite. They weren't picky, eating snacks when they were available and devouring people when they were around.
