Infinite Instance, I Farm in the Wasteland

Xia Chuohe played games day and night until she died of exhaustion. The bad news: she didn't die completely and transmigrated into the monster-slaying game she was playing before her death – ...

Chapter 168 Zone 1 Pass (End)

"To Ms. Li Yue's Zone One Pass:"

In recognition of your outstanding performance in the nursing home, this certificate is hereby issued. With this certificate, you can exchange it for a work permit for the manager of the food store in Zone 1 at the director's office.

If you relinquish your pass, you can leave the nursing home after receiving your wages.

Li Yue blankly read the contents of the paper, completely unaware of its value. At that moment, her mind was merging a unique memory—the memory of the older Li Yue.

She is both the caregiver and the elderly person.

Spending two days in the same time period from different perspectives gave Li Yue the feeling that time had been stretched out.

Others were in similar situations to her.

Li Qiusheng was the most carefree one. She quickly transformed her fear of almost killing herself into a sense of pride that "luckily I listened to the boss."

Li Qiusheng pointed to her zone pass: "My job is a cleaner, what are you?"

The other four people displayed their passes—

Xia Chuhe and Lu Danggui are waiters, while Bu Yi and Wang Yan are chefs.

Xia Chuhe lowered his eyes and pondered: "The position is probably related to our contribution in the dungeon? Sister Li conveyed the most crucial information, so she became the shop manager."

Li Qiusheng retorted, "But I also found a crucial clue that the caregiver and the elderly person are the same person!"

Xia Chuhe glanced at her: "Oh, if we hadn't stopped him, someone would have turned on himself yesterday, just like those three evolved humans, right?"

Li Qiusheng said awkwardly, "But you guys are there to cover for us, aren't you?"

She had to reflect on herself; lately she had become too dependent on her boss and Sister Lu, too lazy to use her brain, and only wanted to disagree. She used to put in more effort to think things through.

Xia Chuhe laughed at her: "Alright, in a way, you and Sister Li are the same. Your positions are unique, and you might get access to even more unique clues."

Lu Dangui said, "Go to the dean's office as soon as possible. Today is the sixth day, and Bao'er and Maomao must be getting impatient."

They spent a day in the Peach Blossom Village instance, another five days in the nursing home, and Zone 1 seems to be a separate instance... If things don't go smoothly, they might have to stay in the instance for another seven days.

After finally clearing the second area, not a single person asked to collect their wages and leave. But after staying for more than ten days straight, people outside were genuinely worried that they might have died in the dungeon.

Bu Yi mustered his courage: "You guys go first, I want to... go and remind... you."

Xia Chuhe realized that Bu Yi was referring to Zhao Huan, the only remaining evolved member of the four-person group, and said, "I'll go with you."

Zhao Huan was nowhere to be found, so Xia Chuhe and Bu Yi searched and asked around the nursing home.

Bu Yi said in a low voice, "I didn't mean to meddle, it's just that I remembered the mushroom-growing dungeon. If you hadn't pulled me out, I would have died in there, so..."

Xia Chuhe laughed and said, "It's nothing, I should thank you for reminding me!"

Bu Yi did not understand.

Xia Chuhe didn't explain to her that saving someone in a desperate situation would immediately grant them a higher level of loyalty, which might be an opportunity to increase one's superpowers.

The two searched most of the nursing home before finally finding Zhao Huan curled up on his bed in the dormitory, with an elderly person whom Zhao Huan was responsible for taking care of sitting by the bed.

Xia Chuhe told Zhao Huan about the relationship between the caregiver and the elderly man, and explained how to obtain the pass.

Zhao Huan received the pass and immediately asked, "What about my teammates...?"

“I don’t know their situation,” Xia Chuhe said.

Zhao Huan murmured, "Thank you..."

Xia Chuhe glanced at Zhao Huan's pass; his job title was chef.

However, Zhao Huan said, "I don't want to do any more dungeons. I want to collect my wages and leave. Thank you for telling me the truth."

Xia Chuhe nodded and left with Bu Yi.

Zhao Huan followed behind the two like a little chick.

When they arrived at the dean's office, Sister Ye was sitting behind her desk, looking very unhappy.

"Your work is substandard! Utterly substandard! And I actually let you pass! Die! Die! You all deserve to die! A complete waste of resources! Utter garbage that can't create anything!"

Zhao Huan was so frightened that he dared not speak.

Xia Chuhe gave Zhao Huan a push, and Zhao Huan stammered, "I...I'm here to collect...collect my salary."

Sister Ye's expression improved slightly. She casually reached under the table and pulled out a large package, about half her height: "Take it and get lost."

Zhao Huan grabbed the package and disappeared on the spot.

Li Yue whispered to Xia Chuhe, "It should be food. I see many colors."

Xia Chuhe nodded and placed the pass on the desk: "Change to a work pass."

Sister Ye's face darkened again, and her lips moved rapidly.

Xia Chuhe vaguely heard words like "food," "garbage," and "eat you up."

No matter how unwilling Sister Ye was, Xia Chuhe and the others still managed to get their work permits.

Sister Ye said fiercely, "Get out of the nursing home. Someone will come and take you away."

Xia Chuhe retorted, "Sooner or later, you will become one of the elderly. How you treat the elderly today will be how you are treated when you are old."

Sister Ye slammed her hand on the table: "Get out!"

Enraged, she tore the passes into pieces and threw them at Xia Chuhe and the others.

Shredded paper was scattered all over the office.

Sister Ye roared, "Xiao Liu! Come and clean up!"

A head peeked in through the doorway and said quickly, "Sister Ye, the door is broken again. Xiao Liu went to fix it."

Before Sister Ye could lose her temper again, Xia Chuhe and the others slipped out of the office as quickly as they could.

As Xia Chuhe walked out of the nursing home, he saw Xiao Liu standing on a ladder repairing the gate. He had nailed a wooden board to the plaque above the gate and was now nailing a second one.
