Xia Chuohe played games day and night until she died of exhaustion. The bad news: she didn't die completely and transmigrated into the monster-slaying game she was playing before her death – ...
Have you noticed that the levels in the Land of Rules are very fragmented, like two sides are playing a game?
The evil side designs all sorts of rules, trying to kill us. The good side, on the other hand, tries its best to protect us within the rules, using everything available to do so.
The first level features a set of bronze chimes, where both sides use the chimes to strategize. Striking the wrong bell is dangerous, but hiding inside one of the bells allows you to avoid all damage and survive until the level ends.
The second level's Mirror Corridor features mirrors that act as obstacles and containers for monsters, but they also hold clues to the exit.
The silent stage in the third level is a prop that can directly harm us, but it is also the key to liberating the audience.
This applies not only to the checkpoints, but also to the entire Silent Valley.
Silent Valley has established various rules, and violating these rules will result in punishment, even death. However, the existence of the Confession Wall can mitigate the punishment and prevent death.
If there truly are forces of good and evil, have you ever considered whether the person lying in the coffin is good or evil?
Regardless of its nature, the power of rules is, at the very least, imperfect. Absorbing imperfect power of rules—no one knows what will happen.
This is why Xia Chuhe has been hesitant to take the energy ball.
Li Qiusheng and Dashan suddenly realized what was going on, but Li Qiusheng still didn't understand why Xia Chuhe had tied Dashan up.
Mo Yun accepted this situation well. Because Mo Yun needed Da Shan to translate, the two had a little more contact. He had long sensed that something was wrong with Da Shan, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Seeing Dashan tied up by Xia Chuhe, he actually felt a sense of relief.
"Why tie up the mountain?" Li Qiusheng asked.
[Do you remember the sisters in the Silent Theater? In this Land of Rules, the sisters' relationship is too special, and Da Shan repeatedly mentioned her sister in the first and second trials.] Xia Chuhe paused, [Perhaps I'm being too sensitive, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Controlling the unstable factors first will make it easier for us to find the second energy orb.]
"Look at that on the ground, isn't that it?" After typing, Li Qiusheng pointed to a small, sunken pit on the ground, in which lay a simple, unadorned little ball.
The ball was positioned not far from where the four people were standing, roughly where it was before the third level disappeared.
Xia Chuhe frowned. Judging by appearance alone, the small ball on the ground was somewhat similar to the energy ball. But its appearance was far too easy.
There's one more thing we haven't used yet—the confessional wall.
Xia Chuhe shook his head, signaling Li Qiusheng and Mo Yun not to retrieve the ball, but to keep an eye on Dashan first.
She walked alone toward the wall of repentance.
The contents of the confession wall have been changed.
In the third challenge, both Mo Yun and Xia Chuhe made sounds, so they wrote something on the confession wall.
Mo Yun's writings are incomprehensible and he has never repeated himself.
Xia Chuhe wrote about chasing the kitten four times in total.
There's nothing strange about that. What's strange is that there are five messages written by Da Shan on the wall, and all of them are related to his sister.
Xia Chuhe clearly remembered that Dashan had only written it four times before entering the third level. Moreover, Dashan did not violate the rule of remaining silent during the third level.
Why is there another image of Dashan's repentance on the wall?
When did she write it?
What happens when you repeatedly write the same thing?
Xia Chuhe thought for a moment, then raised his hand and wrote, "I repent. I chased the kitten all over the house, not to kiss it, but just to see its feet slip." This was the fifth time he had written it.
Then came the sixth time.
The seventh time...
As the last stroke was made, the confession wall shook violently, and the entire wall sank into the ground, revealing a secret chamber hidden behind it.
Inside the secret room, there was an identical coffin.
"Don't go in," Da Shan said.
She spoke, but was not punished.
Xia Chuhe gazed deeply at the mountains before stepping into the secret chamber.
The person lying in the coffin had the exact same face as the person in the coffin in the church.
The difference is that the corpse in this coffin is holding an unmailed letter in its hand.
Xia Chuhe took the letter and opened it—
The so-called rule of silence is nothing more than the devil's punishment for humanity's incessant chatter.
I firmly believe that when I was twelve, I used my sonic powers to shatter the wreckage of the car accident that was pressing down on my younger sister. In my memory, she stroked my face and said to me, "Sister's singing voice is so beautiful, it works better than painkillers."
When I was twenty-four, someone told me a long-forgotten story.
On the day I awakened my superpower, the sound waves shattered the overpass, causing several cars to fall off. My sister was in one of those cars.
The younger sister's dying words were: "Sister, don't cry, it's too noisy..."
I lost control.
When I regained consciousness, someone had become dead.
I know that an angel and a demon live inside me, and they are both protecting me.
The angel is my sister. She fabricated a beautiful memory for me, hoping that I would live happily forever.
The devil is me, she silenced all mouths that wanted to speak the truth, she demanded that everyone remain silent, and those who violated this rule had to pay with their lives.
I am a weak person, I run away.
I repent.
Repentance is the best medicine for maintaining inner peace.
This applies to me, and it applies to others as well.
The so-called rule of silence is nothing more than the devil's punishment for humanity's incessant chatter.
But if you can truly hear me, you'll know I've never stopped shouting.
As Xia Chuhe read, the words on the letter slowly disappeared. When she finished reading the last word, the letter spontaneously combusted without fire.
A radiant, energy-filled sphere was born from burning paper.
The small ball in the crevice floated up and slowly emitted a glow.
The light from the three small spheres shone brightly, gradually spreading and intertwining. The two coffins slowly became illusory, and a dark shadow floated out from the mountain.
The shadowy figure gave a bitter smile: "Just two more times. Just two more times, and she can forget that incident forever..."
The shadowy figure, enveloped in the light of the three small spheres, gradually dissipated.
In the instant it completely disappeared, the three small balls came together and merged into a simple, unadorned ball, which floated into Xia Chuhe's hand.
The three balls represent three personalities.
A ruthless hidden man, a cowardly imposter, and a kind-hearted escapee.
The three personalities represent a complete person.
A person who has made a mistake, is constantly blaming themselves, and keeps trying to make amends using the wrong methods.
Her obsession ran so deep that it became a rule, trapping everyone.
During his six months in the wasteland, Xia Chuhe experienced many things, far more bizarre than this.
She calmly turned the knob of her watch, absorbing the complete rules of the Valley of Silence, and the colored quicksand on the dial instantly filled more than half of it.
60%, still 40% short.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, only the energy of two Rule Lands is needed.
I hope it won't be like a loveless hell, where it can never be filled.
