Chapter 39 Zhenzhen, Don't Be Afraid

Gu Yushu remained noncommittal and casually entered the bathroom.

Soon the sound of rushing water filled the air. Shen Zhen was unable to concentrate on writing the plot she wanted, her mind constantly flashing with images of Yu Shu's beautiful figure.

"Zhenzhen, bring me my nightgown." Yu Shu's voice came indistinctly from the bathroom.

Shen Zhen grabbed a handful of her hair. She must have done it on purpose! This person is so awful!

Shen Zhen got up and picked up the silk pajamas that were placed to the side. The silk felt smooth and cool, and it carried the fragrance of Yu Shu. Shen Zhen couldn't help but rub it against the tip of her nose.

"Zhenzhen, have you found it?" Yu Shu's voice rang out again.

"Coming...coming!"

Shen Zhen clutched her pajamas and slowly moved towards the bathroom. She carefully opened a corner of the bathroom door, squinting her eyes, afraid to go in, lest she see the images in her mind and get a nosebleed.

Gu Yushu looked at the snow-white arm that reached in, his dark eyes darkening. He pulled Shen Zhen into the bathroom. His long, straight, snow-white legs immediately pinned her down, and his slender fingers slipped inside Shen Zhen's pajamas, gently caressing her.

Before Shen Zhen could react, Yu Shu's kisses fell softly upon her. "What happened to the bathtub? Why did you finish bathing so quickly? Hmm?"

Shen Zhen's body trembled slightly as Yu Shu pinned her to the sink, preventing her from making any suggestive sounds.

Yu Shu chuckled lightly, "If I can't bring the bathtub, I can at least bring it to the bathroom, right?"

Shen Zhen felt a chill run through her body; her pajamas were gone, and behind her was her warm body, while in front of her was a cold mirror. She was so ashamed that she didn't even dare to open her eyes to see the scene. Her toes curled slightly, and her body went limp, so she could only lean against Yu Shu.

Soon, suppressed blushing and pounding heartbeats echoed from the bathroom, signaling another sleepless night.

The next day, as soon as Chu Chu went downstairs, she saw Shen Zhen and Yu Shu having breakfast at the dining table.

Yu Shu glanced at her indifferently, "Chu Chu, come and have breakfast."

Chu Chu paused for a moment, then regained her composure, swaggered over, patted Shen Zhen on the back, and said with a grin, "Shen Xiaozhen, I had a fever last night and treated you as my ex-girlfriend. Did I scare you?"

Shen Zhen was startled by Chu Chu, and patted her chest while looking back at her with a smile, "I knew it! You scared me to death. Don't go crazy like that next time, it's really terrifying."

The marks left from last night's lovemaking were still glaringly obvious on Chen Zhen's neck. Chu Chu felt a slight pang in her heart, but pretending not to care, she turned her head away. "Yeah, it won't happen again. I'm going to win my ex-girlfriend back!"

While eating crab roe soup dumplings, Shen Zhen nodded, "Yes, since you still like her, you should try to win her back, so you don't miss out for nothing."

Chu Chu tossed her long hair aside, took a big gulp of her black coffee, and felt the bitter taste on her tongue, but it couldn't compare to the bitterness in her heart. From the moment she came downstairs, Shen Zhen hadn't even glanced at her. Was this what it meant to not love her?

Chen Lin and Shen Guodong hadn't bothered Shen Zhen for many days, and Shen Zhen assumed they might have gone back to their hometown, so she didn't pay much attention.

A few days later, Shen Zhen picked up Tuan Tuan and went to Gu's to wait for Yu Shu to get off work. The three of them planned to go out for a big meal.

Just as they reached the entrance of the Gu family's residence, Chen Lin and Shen Guodong rushed out before anyone could react.

Chen Lin shouted, "Shen Zhen! You shameless person!"

A large bucket of paint was splashed from behind, and Shen Zhen pulled Tuan Tuan into her arms.

People around exclaimed in surprise, "My God!"

Red, viscous substances dripped down Shen Zhen's hair, making it almost impossible for him to open his eyes. Shen Zhen held Tuan Tuan tightly in her arms, protecting him from any harm.

Chen Lin, hands on her hips, smugly cursed, "You shameless woman, you've abandoned your parents just because you've hooked up with a rich man, haven't you?"

"Everyone come and see, this is the shameless guy who sent his own brother to jail!"

"Why is my life so miserable? Giving birth to her is such a sin! Everyone come and see! Shen Zhen is so cruel! She's going to ruin her brother!"

Shen Guodong pretended to pull Chen Lin away, saying, "Honey, don't cry. Blame it on our bad luck! Zhenzhen, don't blame your mother either. She was just afraid you'd be scammed! We couldn't bear to see you take so much money from them!"

Shen Zhen trembled with anger. She slapped her face hard and, through the crack, could only see Chen Lin's smug eyes. Stubbornly raising her head, she asked sharply, "What exactly do you want to do!"

Chen Lin collapsed to the ground and began to throw a tantrum, yelling, "Come and see! Who is this person?! How can someone who's climbed up to rich people talk to his mother like this?! Why is my life so miserable?! My poor child!"

Tears streamed down Shen Guodong's face, revealing his honest nature. "My dear wife, don't cry. Zhenzhen's rich husband is still a woman, and she's embarrassed to make us worry. She's a woman with a child, and it's a good thing she managed to marry a rich woman. We can support ourselves by farming back in our hometown!"

Passersby stopped and pointed at Chen Zhen, who was covered in paint. "My God! She's gay! How disgusting!"

"This woman is something else; she managed to marry a rich woman even after having a baby!"

"That's just how society is. As long as you have money, who cares about gender? As long as you're willing to go all out!"

The sticky paint clung to her body, making Shen Zhen extremely uncomfortable, and a huge anger filled her heart.

Shen Zhen looked up abruptly, the early autumn wind making her feel a bone-chilling cold; she couldn't bear to see Ashu get hurt.

"Mommy, I feel so uncomfortable..." Tuantuan writhed in Shen Zhen's arms, her little body twisting anxiously.

Shen Zhen hugged Tuantuan even tighter, completely covering her face and body, and whispered soothingly, "Tuantuan, be good, it'll be alright in a little while..."

Chen Lin stood up and spat at Shen Zhen, saying, "Let me tell you, if Xiao Huai doesn't come out, I'll make sure you never have a moment's peace!"

Shen Zhen's face was wet with a mixture of tears and paint, her thin body trembling uncontrollably, overwhelmed by immense fear and resentment. She couldn't understand why everyone was blaming her, and why her parents were threatening her, when she hadn't done anything wrong.

Shen Zhen opened her mouth as if to say something, but then she was enveloped in a warm embrace, and heard a familiar yet anxious voice in her ear.

"Zhenzhen, don't be afraid."

Someone in the crowd recognized him and exclaimed, "Isn't that the president of Gu's Group?"
