Chapter 6 Injured

Because the building was quite tall, the company had installed an elevator. As soon as Fang Rong entered the elevator, he suddenly saw blood next to him. The blood spread along the corner of the wall and disappeared in the stairwell. He followed the blood trail up the stairs, but couldn't hold on any longer when he reached the seventh floor. He was a little scared, so he simply stopped caring and called the police to handle the situation.

He went around the stairs and into the elevator, went up to the tenth floor. There were many employees in the company, and many rooms were assigned. His colleagues were right next to him. Fang Rong didn't like to talk, so he didn't go to greet them and went into the room by himself.

The room was pitch black. He clapped his hands, but the automatic lights didn't turn on. He pressed the switch button again, but it still didn't light up. Fang Rong thought for a moment and guessed that the power supply to the building next door might have been damaged by the wild beasts, affecting his room.

Fortunately, there was a battery-operated lamp by the bedside. Fang Rong was about to turn it on when there was a knock on the door.

He groped his way to the door, and only opened it after seeing two men in uniform through the peephole. "Is there something you need?"

The two men were very polite. "Have you been home the whole time? Have you seen a mutant pass by here?"

Fang Rong shook her head. "I didn't see any, but I just saw blood in the stairwell. It must have been from that mutant. You guys go check it out!"

The two exchanged a glance, thanked him, and left.

Fang Rong closed the door again and turned on the bedside lamp. He used this lamp when he wrote in his diary. Sometimes he would have nightmares and was afraid to sleep. Turning it on made him feel much more at ease.

The lamplight wasn't very bright, but it still had a certain range, and Fang Rong could easily see a human-shaped bulge on his bed.

He was startled. His first thought was that it was related to the blood in the stairwell. The blood kept spreading and went higher than he had imagined. He was too tired to walk after climbing to the seventh floor, so he simply called the police. The two policemen who had just been there must have been chasing him.

Fang Rong's hands and feet were trembling; he had just experienced the experiment and couldn't comfort himself.

Just as he was about to run, he suddenly felt a pull on the hem of his clothes. The force was very weak and seemed to pose no threat whatsoever. He could easily break free.

For some reason, he suddenly paused, then mustered up the courage to turn around.

The person on the bed revealed a silver head, long eyelashes trembling, and a face full of exhaustion. The blanket was pulled back, and a strong smell of blood wafted out. Fang Hua's voice was unhurried.

"I'm sorry, I got your blankets dirty."
