Chapter 160 Selfish Mother

"who I am?"

Where am I?

"Isn't I dead?"

"Stop, stop, stop!" Xiao He quickly interrupted her, "You've got the wrong script. These are the main character's lines."

"What? Who are you? What do you want?"

The young nun shrank back in panic, only to find herself pressed against the back of the cabinet.

The knife in Xiao He's hand was indeed quite ferocious; even if a cute girl held it, it would only accentuate her aura as a sickly, murderous maniac.

"I am the one who saved you," Xiao He said solemnly, wearing a heavy Aladdin hat.

"No! I don't believe it!" Tears streamed down the nun's face as she tried to shout but dared not.

As Xiao He carried his sword, he paused his sentence with each step he took towards her.

"Since I saved you, could you at least say thank you?"

"Waaaaah..."

“This is very important to me!” Xiao He’s expression was serious and firm.

"Waaah..." The nun's face was streaked with tears, like a pear blossom in the rain: "I...I...I thank you...my dear..."

As soon as she finished speaking, a holy light emanated from between the nun's brows and slowly merged into Xiao He's body.

After a while, a satisfied smile appeared on Xiao He's lips.

But the nun could not see this light in her eyes.

He only thanked her with some skepticism because he remembered that the "real culprit" who killed him was not the girl in front of him, and he felt that his body had recovered completely.

The reason why he was trembling with fear was not only because of the "Blade of Hell", but also because of Xiao He's attire and "makeup".

In this dimly lit room...

simply……

It looks too much like a ghost...

"Alright, alright, I'll put it away, okay?"

As he spoke, Xiao He sheathed his sword and with a wave of his hand, it vanished into thin air.

Seeing this, the nun tentatively stepped out of the cabinet with one foot, but her eyes never left Xiao He's face.

"..."

"Roar!!" The latter suddenly pounced like a tiger.

"Ah—" The nun shrank back into the cupboard, knocking over a pile of hats hanging on the upper shelf.

Seeing the nun buried under her hat, Xiao He finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"You scared me once, I'll scare you once, we're even now, come out."

"Waaaah... What is this...?" The nun simply squatted down in a pile of clutter and burst into tears.

Xiao He knelt down in front of her and found that she was not very old, but since she could repair the barrier on her own, she must be a genius in the field of formations.

Since he's a genius, it's normal for him to have some personality abnormalities.

"If you cry again, I'll turn into a female ghost." Xiao He looked at her seriously.

"..." The nun fell silent in a second.

"Who are you? What's your name?"

“I am a nun from the Church of Saintess Polis, and my name is Valerie Bertinelli.”

"Who killed you?"

“It was…” Valerie recalled with some disbelief: “It was the Temple Master…Isabel McGee.”

"Palace Master?" Xiao He was even more confused.

They had been on the phone with Wang Xuefeng the whole time, sharing information immediately. When this shocking secret was revealed, both of them fell into deep thought.

A moment later, Xiao He suddenly remembered something: "Let me ask you again, does Palace Master Isabel have any grudges against Saintess Pattica?"

“Enmity?” Valerie tilted her head. “They often quarrel and their relationship is very strained… well… but Princess Isabel still cares about Pattika.”

"What do you mean?" Xiao He asked, puzzled.

“Patika doesn’t like Princess Isabelle’s constraints, always saying she’s too cold-hearted for a mother.” Valerie blinked, seemingly quite sympathetic towards the former.

Having a mother with strong control and a sense of oppression at such an innocent and carefree age is indeed a childhood nightmare for many.

Realizing the implication in her words, Xiao He was taken aback: "They're mother and daughter?"

“Yes.” Valerie nodded. “Although Princess Isabelle treats everyone as her children, Patika is her real child.”

The fog above Xiao He's head was thick and heavy, and she threw away her Aladdin hat.

In the dim light, Valerie carefully examined the girl in front of her.

With her smooth blonde hair and delicate features, if she hadn't deliberately smeared makeup on her face, she probably wouldn't be any less beautiful than Pattika.

"Who are you?" Valerie asked curiously.

"Xiao He, Pastor."

“So you’re a priest…” Valerie paused. “But why is a priest carrying a knife?”

Have you ever seen a scalpel?

"I've never seen anything this big before..."

Xiao He nodded: "I am a veterinarian."

"So that's how it is!" Valerie exclaimed in realization.

“Then let’s go find Princess Isabel now,” Xiao He said as he stood up.

"Huh?!" Valerie exclaimed in horror.

-

Sister Suna was unaware that Valerie had been killed by Isabel, so she hurriedly led Valerie and Xiao He to push open Isabel's door.

When the latter turned around with a dignified expression, the coffee cup in his hand shattered on the floor.

The numerous maids in the room exchanged bewildered glances, not daring to utter a sound.

"Get out, everyone," Isabel said expressionlessly.

Everyone understood what she meant, so the "unrelated people" quietly left the room.

Isabel stared at the unmoved Xiao He and was horrified to find that she could not sense her power.

It's different from ordinary people; it's a feeling that's unfathomable.
