This is a fragmented, chaotic place. The whims of gods and demons have left it scarred. In a world where everything is in disarray, living beings gather, hoping for dawn.

Both monsters and hu...

Chapter 105

The excruciating pain caused the little spider to let out a ferocious groan the moment it entered.

The moment it was completely enveloped by this twisted body, an indescribable pressure surged from all directions. It felt as if it had sunk into a swamp, its body pressed down by heavy mud. It was completely unable to move.

The magic of forming a colloid after solidification—that's the best definition of this stuff. It's similar to black mud, but far more deadly than anything found in swamps.

Fortunately, Spider-Man himself isn't exactly clean, so he's not afraid of getting dirty.

Come to think of it, why am I doing this here? It seems very dangerous this time; even I might die.

The thought flashed through the little spider's mind for a moment, then was quickly forgotten.

Helping others is the hardest thing to understand, isn't it? Even though I'm a twisted monster, I'm helping some guy who came from who-knows-where.

It seems like I've even risked my life this time. But if I had to put it bluntly, it would be hard to understand not to risk my life in a place like this. Everything was just too dangerous, so dangerous that even staying in a warm bed, I might not see the sun rise tomorrow. When I left that nest, it meant I had already said goodbye to a place called safety.

The little spider felt it couldn't move; it had messed up and was probably going to die here.

It closed its eyes, reminiscing about its home.

Was the place where he grew up actually safe? The little spider recalled that it was a spider nest, a giant spider nest.

It's full of monsters, mostly giant spiders, the really huge kind. Some of them are quite grotesque.

These spider nests, which grow in chaotic regions, are alive. They breathe, have hearts, and grow by absorbing magic from chaotic elements. A disgusting secretion grows all over their bodies—these magically coalesced lumps are their food. This substance sustains the newborn creatures, who haven't yet learned how to create food by gathering magic. Once they reach a certain size, resembling a carriage, they must leave the spider nest and wander, trying to survive as long as possible.

It may go anywhere, then secrete silk to wrap its entire body, and slowly merge with the silk until a new nest is formed.

This is the ecosystem of this giant spider. Although we don't know what it was originally, in a place where monsters come and go as they please, this ecosystem is neither powerful nor weak.

They are not powerful because they are not a race favored by any demon god, and they do not possess any great powers.

The reason they are not weak is that they are an extremely large group. You can find their nests everywhere, and the nests themselves are mostly filled with monsters of the calamity level or higher.

The nest where the spider grew up was special; it was the very first nest. The largest nest, because it was located within a safe zone. Although it was only a small safe zone, in that mild environment, the spider nest was extremely large.

This is what I looked like when I woke up. It seems like some human was dragged here and corrupted into becoming an intelligent monster, or perhaps it's just that I'm a bit deformed to begin with. Anyway, I was already able to move when I woke up.

Most of these things lack intelligence, but what's special about them is that even completely chaotic things know what they should do: avoid powerful monsters, eat, protect their weak offspring, and reproduce.

Of course, some are capable of thinking for themselves. After all, they're completely out of place, and they'll find those guys very quickly.

Those creatures claimed to be the heart, the very heart of this spider's nest. Strictly speaking, they were a product of the heart, much like a fruit produced by a plant.

Therefore, from the moment of its birth, it was a calamity-level monster, possessing a terrifying concentration of magical energy and immense magical power. It even lacked a magical core, meaning it had no weaknesses.

Even so, it seemed he was going to die. The thing he was facing this time was too terrifying. It was a monster with magic power several times that of him, a monster made of pure magic power.

As the little spider was thinking this, he suddenly realized that even his mouth was being stuffed with this disgusting thing. He tried to struggle, but it was no use.

And strangely enough, this stuff actually tastes pretty good.

He instinctively curled up into a ball, and his spider legs began to move through the magic, condensing into spider silk.

He unconsciously enveloped himself, unconsciously beginning to form a nest.

Dedeline finally found an opportunity to jump onto the monster's body, dragging her greatsword as she ran wildly across its surface, creating wounds along the way.

Steam escaped from the openings in her clothes, turning her skin red. A sword made of dragon fang material could easily tear through her armor. And the way she ran across it was no different from a sheep running on a plain.

However, even the position of the pillars she was standing on would occasionally change, but it couldn't stop her from moving forward.

Finally, as she leaped high into the air, one of her necks was severed.

“As expected, I still…” Just as Dedeline was about to boast about herself, she turned her head and saw Lady lying not far away.

The weapon in this guy's hand was even bigger; the scythe had already cut a huge gash in its body just by sitting there.

Behind her, the remaining necks were all severed.

"Huh?" Dedeline was stunned, looking at the things that were still moving after falling to the ground, her lips twitching slightly.

Like Denos, she had no idea what Lady had gone through. She only remembered that there was a particularly beautiful girl in the carriage.

But little did he know that this guy possessed such combat power; what he had struggled so hard to achieve seemed to have been accomplished with ease.

“There’s no way to kill it this way,” Lady said softly, looking at Deedri. “Its core is inside; if we don’t destroy it, it will regenerate no matter how many times we cut it down.”

“But I don’t know how to deal with this thing.” Dedeline casually sliced off a piece with her knife, and it healed almost as quickly as it had been damaged. There was no trace of any damage. “The closer to the magic core, the faster it heals, and it’s more holistic. I didn’t even know… um???”

She watched as the scythe in Lady's hand transformed into a cone-shaped drill in front of her, and then a deafening roar echoed through the sky the moment it pierced through.

Lady is in a bad mood right now; if she had to put it into words, she feels empty inside.

Someone had said they needed her, which made her willing to return to reality. But after coming out, she was told that the guy hadn't been telling the truth.

This feeling was infuriating; she felt that if she didn't do something, she would just have to cower in a corner and cry.

Using my abilities in the sun and getting caught by the church? Who cares? At worst, I'll just be purged by the church. I didn't really want to live anyway, so there's no need for me to care so much about my life.

From Dedeline's perspective, this guy must have lost his mind to possess such an ability.

She hadn't yet come into contact with the hidden parts of this world, so naturally she didn't know the danger that Lady's ability brought. She just thought it was amazing, incredibly powerful.

What kind of material was it? She had no idea, only that the material was something she had never seen before. It seemed to be a solid object that had been kneaded and shaped.

The thing started moving again, the earth began to tremble, and even the wounds all over its body began to reopen.

However, Lady did not suffer any significant damage; the wound caused by the drill bit healed very quickly.

After all, it's something like mud; as long as you don't destroy the core, trying to completely destroy it by just doing superficial things won't work.

"Be careful." Deedri grabbed her clothes and made her duck to avoid the sweeping tentacles.

That thing must weigh several tons; if it hit me, it would probably break all the bones in my body.

Even if your bones are very strong, it's useless; a slight touch would likely result in serious injury.

"That was close." She felt a sense of relief, looking at the tentacle that had been flung at her, and felt a chill run down her neck.

"Why did you save me?" It was a murderous intent emanating from beneath her body. She felt her body, which had been burning hot because of her abilities, slowly cooling down because of this barely perceptible killing intent.

She looked down and saw Lady looking at her with tears on her face.

She felt her mind was blank because she didn't know what to prioritize thinking about.

Because her attention was originally focused entirely on how to deal with the unexpected situation that was about to unfold—this is a form of concentration. Anyone who frequently engages in combat undergoes this kind of concentration training to enable their energy to react quickly in fleeting moments.

But obviously, this approach isn't suitable for comforting a girl who's crying for no apparent reason. After all, there are countless reasons why a girl might cry, and, to her shame, Dedeline admits she can't understand them. Although she may look like a girl, there's probably no girl in the world who would be sitting in a hotel drinking bucket after bucket of alcohol.

So she couldn't understand why Lady was angry or crying. This made her want to think about it. But because her mind had been working so fast, suddenly turning back to think about such a question made her feel like her nerves were about to overload.

"Why? Because I don't want to fight alone right now. I need you!" Deedri could only say this, not knowing if it would make a difference, but she shouted it out as her greatsword plunged into the monster's body. The next attack struck her, nearly shattering her wrist.

"You need me?" Lady asked blankly.

“It’s obvious, isn’t it? If you have any emotional issues, please wait until after the fight. This drink is on me; after two barrels of liquor, everything will be fine! But not now, okay? Can’t you see these monsters everywhere?” Deedri yelled, her long horns beginning to turn red. The temperature started to rise, and she shouted as she swung her greatsword.

A wave of intense heat erupted from the blade, instantly creating a temperature that even incinerated the monster's tentacles.

But what remained was the ashes that had been burned into needles that poured down like a torrential rain.

Deedris pressed down on Lady's shoulder with one hand, while using her other arm to shield her. Protected by the earth, her own body was an incredibly strong shield. Even if that thing could pierce through, it would be difficult to harm Lady, who was behind it.

But the expected pain did not come, because the needles stopped in front of him and then turned into hundreds of spears.

Then it was returned as before, piercing through those parts that tried to get closer by taking advantage of the opportunity.

"Did you do this?" Dedeline was shocked, swallowing hard as she stared at the bizarre scene in disbelief.

"Can you stop hugging me like that? You're suffocating me." Lady's voice came from in front of her. She realized that she was indeed hugging her a bit too tightly and quickly let her catch her breath.

Lady blushed slightly, scratching her face shyly as she looked at the two mounds of flesh swaying back and forth in front of her.

Dedeline scratched her face a little embarrassedly, as her skin was already red. It was unclear whether she was shy or not.

Perhaps because Deedrei came from the Fire Goat tribe, this race might believe that men's interests stemmed from that thing. Therefore, this subconsciously influenced their choice of offspring. However, this caused Deedrei great distress, as the weight of the thing made movement very difficult.

"Thanks," she said, then pulled her up and continued to look up at the enormous thing. "But it seems to be quite lively."

"Then let's make it lose its spirit."

"How domineering! Where is that core again?" Deedri rubbed Lady's head, grinning widely. She seemed quite pleased with herself.

Lady didn't speak, she just looked down.

Dedeline was also stunned, looking down at the scene below.

They heard a heartbeat, a sound that wasn't there before. Just a few minutes ago, they clearly felt a heart beating.

Thump, thump.

The sound was muffled, like the beating of a dull drum.

But the sound was so loud, it was as if the whole world was shaking.

Dedeline felt a cold sweat trickle down her forehead. She suddenly sensed that some kind of monster was being born. Not this thing, but a completely different aura.

Her sense of danger instantly made her realize that a far more dangerous monster was awakening, a monster far more dangerous than this one.

"Do you still stand by what you just said?" Lady asked Deedri.

"Of course, but I'll have Yak treat me to drinks afterwards."
