This is a fragmented, chaotic place. The whims of gods and demons have left it scarred. In a world where everything is in disarray, living beings gather, hoping for dawn.

Chapter Twenty-Four
Lori huddled by the fireplace in the church, kneeling on the floor and curled up in prayer.
Beside her lay a human whose body had been cut in half—the same bandits who had attacked Lady, now all lying lifeless on the ground.
Lori smeared her body with their blood so that they would think there were no other living people there.
It was a walking insect nest, and the creature that should have been dead had risen again due to corruption.
The first thing I did after getting up was to head straight for the church, just like a big bug outside.
This is because it's a gathering place for illegal temporary residents with virtually no fighting ability. As mentioned before, those with legal status have already gone to the safe zone for refuge. Meanwhile, all the city's residents have left their homes.
In other words, they didn't clear the monsters out of the city at the beginning because they hoped that the monsters would clean up the city properly while they were there, which would also greatly reduce their workload.
To achieve this, even the church doors were not closed properly.
Lori covered her ears and lay flat on the ground with her eyes closed.
Blood and corpses were everywhere; the place had been ravaged by monsters, and countless people had died.
Most of the temporary residents here are illegal merchants who come to do business, or thieves and bandits who are staying temporarily.
But even with these people who should have been arrested dying right before your eyes, their corpses now being consumed by all sorts of strange insects, anyone would feel devastated, because they could very well be next.
I don't want to die yet. Tears welled up in Lori's eyes, but she didn't make a sound.
She had barely managed to survive... She should have died long ago, but she was still alive in the world, which was all due to good luck.
I can't die over something so trivial. Carl will come back to save me... he will.
Lori thought this way because Carl was the only person she could trust.
There was no reason why she believed that guy. Because those favored by God would rarely lie about such things.
He said that as long as he could tell him his origins seriously, he would protect him.
She told the truth very seriously; to be honest, she was genuinely afraid of being killed at that moment.
But Carl didn't say anything more, he just took her back to his home.
From then on, I began living in that small space, simply because it was a place where I could survive.
Lori opened her eyes. She didn't know when, but the monster had discovered her. The twisted monster looked at her and let out a strange, ecstatic expression.
Lori moved slowly, watching, trying to leave without making too much of a commotion.
But it was no use; it jumped right over, the stench of blood reaching her first, and Lori almost fainted.
"Hey, you over there. What are you doing?"
Suddenly, she heard someone speaking. She looked up and saw the guy who had appeared in front of her.
She had never seen such a monster before. Its entire body was covered in black, including its face, yet it had a human-like appearance, like a human wearing a black leather suit.
Lori suddenly realized that there were still monsters roaming around, and she turned her head sharply to look at that place.
But he was stunned, because both the corpses and the monsters had vanished. Only this one figure remained in front of him throughout the entire church.
Just seconds ago, that monster lunged at him. If nothing unexpected had happened, he should be torn to pieces by now.
But now this place is so clean, there isn't even a trace left.
It was completely silent. There was no sound anywhere, and you could even hear the light streaming into the church through the windows.
"Who are you?" Lori asked in a trembling voice, but the trembling was only due to lingering fear, not fear of the person in front of her.
Because the guy in front of her didn't seem to have any hostility towards her at all; he was just sitting on the table, and that was all. He didn't make any further movements, and even maintained a safe distance from her.
"Me?" It pointed to itself and said with a smile, "I'm a demon."
Lori stared blankly at her face, which was now revealed as the darkness dissipated.
Then he nodded to indicate that he understood.
"What a boring reaction. You should have yelled and screamed." The guy who called himself a demon said somewhat dissatisfiedly, "I finally decided to show myself, but the only normal thing alive is a girl. What a disappointment."
Although he said that, he didn't really intend to scare the child.
If you really wanted to scare them, you should have pounced on them and made faces right now.
They all sound so childish, it's really a bit surprising to see such a childish guy here.
He claimed to be a demon, which might be hard to believe at first, because after the darkness faded from his body, he was just a boy who looked a little young.
He looked down at Lori as if they were playing a game together.
"Aren't you afraid?" Lori suddenly looked up at him. "Aren't you scared?"
"Afraid? What are you talking about? What is there for me to be afraid of?"
“They’re all here for you now, and none of them have any good intentions.” Lori hesitated for a moment before saying, “You’re in danger right now. If you can hide, you should.”
"Are you worried about me?" The boy looked surprised for a moment, but quickly smiled helplessly. "What made you think those guys could hurt me?"
As he said this, he touched the table beneath him, and in an instant, the table disappeared, and he landed on the ground.
He stood there smugly, trying to see surprise on Lori's face.
But strangely, the girl just nodded, as if to say, "I know you won't get hurt, so I'm relieved."
He could actually see the guy's happiness at the display of his abilities.
It's inexplicable, truly inexplicable.
“You make me feel like a monkey in a zoo, performing tricks for others to please the audience.” He made a face at Lori: “You’re such a weirdo.”
The boy gestured in the air, drawing a line.
"etc."
Just as he was about to leave, she suddenly called him back.
What do you want to do?
“Your name…and why you’re here?” Lori hesitated for a moment before saying, “Karl said I should be grateful to everyone who has helped me, and I hope you can tell me your name…I can’t do anything for you, but at least I hope I can offer you a prayer tonight.”
The guy thought he had misheard. He turned to look at the child and shook his head helplessly.
If someone else had said this to him, it might have been sarcastic, but he didn't have that thought now because he sensed that this guy genuinely didn't dislike him at all.
Just as the monster said, this child possessed a rare kindness.
“Just call me Nameless, because no one has ever given me a name.” He said casually. “As for why I came to save you… hey, Chrison, you can come out now.”
The name is like a joke; no one would actually take it as his name.
But since he said that, we can only assume that such a person really exists. Although it sounds far-fetched, we have no choice but to believe it.
As he spoke, the horizontal gap stood up, and a dark, indistinct thing fell out.
That's a little spider; it fell out of there.
"Who are you?" Lori looked at the monster rubbing her head in surprise and asked.
But just as she realized that this was a little trick that guy was using to distract her, he had already disappeared.
He's a strange guy, but everyone here is strange enough, making this boy seem rather ordinary. It's strange that everyone here is normal.
Moreover, this guy claims to be a demon. Nowadays, anyone who dares to call themselves a demon either doesn't want to live or thinks they can handle the consequences of being discovered.
It seemed that the guy really did have that ability, so Lori felt a little relieved and didn't have to worry about him becoming someone else's target.
"Are you alright?" She turned her attention to the man in front of her and said with a smile, "Long time no see."
It was inappropriate for someone to speak to a monster in such a nostalgic tone about how long it had been, Krisen thought. He hadn't originally planned to show himself; he was simply relieved to see Lori was safe, and had no other intentions.
But that guy left it here and then left. He probably thought the monster would be dirty in his room, so he kicked it out.
Spider-Man found the guy through that door; he was sleeping at the time and was startled because of Spider-Man.
No one dislikes beautiful things, just as no one likes ugly things.
Chrisson was very self-aware; he knew which category he belonged to.
Fortunately, the creature didn't immediately crack open its head; instead, it chatted with the monster in a joking tone.
Chris looked at the child in front of him and smiled helplessly. The child's head twitched a few times, becoming somewhat ferocious and terrifying.
But the girl didn't seem afraid and responded with a smile in return.
He initially thought the girl's reaction upon seeing him was just his imagination. But now, seeing that friendly expression again, he suddenly felt that perhaps he was really lucky to have met such a kind person.
He shouldn't have doubted the child in the first place; she had earnestly stood in front of him last time. To be honest, the little spider was very touched; he rarely felt kindness from others. For him, as long as they didn't immediately reveal their weapons upon meeting him, it was already considered friendly treatment.
Not to mention, the fact that someone was blocking his way was something that made him uneasy even in his dreams.
Because after that, he left. The child was taken away by that priest.
He wasn't sure if the child was alright, so he had nightmares every night, fearing that the kind child might suddenly die for some reason.
Even death is normal, after all, we live in a world like this. Living is already difficult enough; death is all too common.
Even so, it still hoped the child would be alright. The little spider remembered someone saying that good-looking people and kind-hearted people have good luck. This child had both, so he should be alright, living well in this world, not spending each day worrying about his survival.
So when the guy suddenly asked him if there was anywhere he wanted to go, Chris immediately said he wanted to make sure the child was safe.
Fortunately, although something unpleasant happened, the matter was resolved smoothly.
Strictly speaking, it was easily dealt with by that guy who was sleeping before. It didn't seem to take much effort; in fact, it took only a moment to wipe out all the enemies in the entire church.
However, Little Spider felt that something was amiss. Logically, the Demon shouldn't be limited to this; there are far too many people who can do the same thing, far more than the Demon could accomplish.
Although Spider-Man didn't like fighting and killing either, he had to realize that if everyone showed hostility, it was quite normal for the demon to start a massacre of the city in a fit of rage.
But that guy had no such thoughts at all. When the little spider saw him, it even thought he was someone who had been kidnapped by some monster.
"Are you going to stay here later?" Lori suddenly asked cautiously.
She was worried about the little spider leaving. Blood Day still had a long time to go before it ended, and she didn't want to be alone in the empty church.
"Don't worry, I won't leave until someone you can trust arrives," Spider-Man said, slowly maintaining a safe distance from her. "I won't hurt you either. I'll keep you safe. I can guarantee it."
As he was saying this, the little spider suddenly remembered something deadly.
Lady said she was coming to handle things here, but I haven't seen her yet.
She should be here by now. Even if she failed to defeat the monsters here, she shouldn't be completely unable to find a single person.
The little spider was a bit frustrated, but he couldn't go out to look for it now. He had already promised the child that he would protect it. Although the little spider didn't think his promise was worth much, he didn't want to disappoint the child.
All we can do is pray to the gods for her safety.
