Chapter 1140 Rebellion

Zuan traveled to the ancient time fragments and the ancient heavenly court world. Although he felt that not much time had passed, he found that three years had passed in that world when he returned.

Three years is enough to change a lot of things, especially when you think of your daughter who was just an infant back then, and who is probably all grown up now.

He took a deep breath and walked through the city gate.

He didn't fly in directly. The capital city was the human capital, protected by various defensive formations and powerful warriors; such a commotion would be too great.

Given his status, once he's recognized, he won't be able to quietly do what he wants.

However, when he passed through the city gate, he noticed that the soldiers' checks seemed to be much stricter than before.

He frowned slightly. Had Linglong not yet eliminated the remaining demons all these years?

However, seeing that the capital was still bustling and the people did not seem to be affected much, he did not take it too seriously.

They arrived at the Sang residence. The Sang residence had not changed much since then. In fact, Bi Linglong had intended to give Sang Hong a larger house, but Sang Hong politely declined.

After all, the Sang family was small, and living in a larger house would have felt lonely; they had more affection for this old house.

Without informing anyone, Zuan went directly to the backyard, intending to give them a surprise.

To his surprise, neither Zheng Dan nor Sang Qian's room was occupied.

"Did she go shopping?" Zuan was feeling a little disappointed when he suddenly saw a beautiful little girl sitting on the steps in the distance, holding a dark-colored object and munching on it. The air was filled with the aroma of sweet potato.

A thought struck him, and he went over to find the little girl wiping her mouth with the back of her hand from time to time while eating roasted sweet potatoes, which made her chubby baby face look like a little kitten with black spots.

The other person was startled to see someone standing in front of them and instinctively hid the dark sweet potato behind their back. Only after seeing that it was Zu An did they breathe a sigh of relief and say in a childish voice, "I thought it was my mother."

He then took out the sweet potato and started eating it.

"Who is your mother?" Looking into the other person's beautiful and somewhat familiar big eyes, Zu An's heart trembled, and he roughly guessed the other person's identity.

“Mommy is Mommy.” The little girl mumbled indistinctly, seemingly finding the uncle’s question quite strange.

Zuan took a deep breath and sat down next to her: "Are you called Sisi?"

"How did you know?" The little girl finally stopped looking at the sweet potato in her hand, turned her head and looked at it, her clear eyes full of doubt.

Zuan smiled but didn't answer: "Are sweet potatoes delicious?"

"Delicious!" The little girl's eyes lit up when she heard about sweet potatoes, and she said proudly, "I secretly ran to the kitchen to bake these. My mother wouldn't let me bake them."

“Your mother is just worried about you getting into danger,” Zu’an leaned closer. “These sweet potatoes smell so good, can I have some?”

The little girl immediately moved to the side warily: "No!"

No wonder this strange uncle talked to me so much; he was thinking about the sweet potato in my hand.

As she spoke, she quickly stuffed the remaining sweet potato into her mouth, as if afraid the other person would snatch it away, and kept breathing out the hot potato.

Zuan found it both funny and heartbreaking, and reached out to wipe the sweet potato residue from the corner of her mouth: "Eat slowly, be careful it's hot."

He then took out the candied hawthorn berries he had just bought on the street: "How about I treat you to some candied hawthorn berries?"

Looking at the bright red, juicy candied hawthorn, the little girl swallowed hard and instinctively reached out to take it, but then pulled her hand back: "No, my mother said I can't eat things from strangers, they might be human traffickers."

As she spoke, her expression grew increasingly wary as she looked at him: "Who are you? I've never seen you before."

Upon hearing the word "stranger," Zu'an felt a pang of sadness. He realized he was a terrible father; his daughter hadn't even seen his face in all these years.

"Sisi, I heard you secretly went to roast sweet potatoes again?" A beautiful figure rushed over from a distance, her voice sounding both angry and anxious. Judging from her appearance, she seemed to want to give her daughter a complete childhood.

However, upon seeing Zuan, the figure trembled and froze on the spot.

The little girl was startled and was trying to figure out how to explain when she suddenly realized that her mother had stopped talking.

"Qian'er!" After several years, Sang Qian was still as beautiful as ever, but her expression had become more mature than before.

"Ah Zu!" Sang Qian could no longer contain her surging emotions. She ran over crying and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly as if she was afraid that all of this was an illusion and that he would disappear in the blink of an eye.

Sensing the other person's strong and intense emotions, Zuan also held her tightly in his arms.

The little girl standing nearby was stunned by what she saw, and after a long while, she burst into tears.

"Mommy, why aren't you holding Sisi anymore?"

"Sisi will never steal roasted sweet potatoes again."

"You scoundrel, let go of your mother!"

Seeing her daughter anxiously trying to pull Zu'an away, Sang Qian couldn't hold back any longer. She bent down and picked her up, saying, "Sisi, you often ask about your father, right? He's finally back now. Quickly call him Dad."

"You're Daddy?" The little girl looked at him timidly, unable to connect the man who had tricked her into giving him roasted sweet potatoes just a moment ago with the great hero Daddy her mother had described.

Zuan could no longer resist and hugged her tightly in his arms. She was like a little dumpling, soft and fragrant in his arms.

That feeling of being connected by blood grew stronger.

Sang Qian, not bothering to wipe away the tears from the corners of her eyes, hurriedly took out a handkerchief to wipe her daughter's cheeks: "Look how dirty you've gotten after stealing sweet potatoes..."
