Chuan Liu has always believed: “Chaos is not an abyss, chaos is a ladder.”
Therefore, the magician Chuan Liu chose the criminal exile island – “Paradise Island.”
On this islan...
Instead of towering skyscrapers, "Square A's" residence is built with only one or two stories, showcasing a low-key yet grand scale. However, "Square A's" residence occupies the largest area of all the square residents' homes.
The entire compound was gently enveloped in a layer of pristine white paint, spotless and even reflecting the soft moonlight. The main road within the compound was a smooth avenue suitable for both vehicles and pedestrians. On both sides of the avenue were neatly manicured lawns.
Zhou Zheng's residence is located at the end of this avenue—a super-large single-level apartment built with a combination of mirrors and glass.
In the single-level building.
The bathroom door slid open slowly to both sides, accompanied by a slight metallic scraping sound. A warm and humid steam, like soft clouds, slowly escaped from the crack in the door, gradually filling the entire space. A faint fragrance filled the air, giving people a sense of tranquility and relaxation.
In the misty steam, a tall man slowly appeared. He stood tall and straight, his steps steady, each one seemingly carrying an unspoken elegance.
He wore a soft white bathrobe that draped gently over his slender frame. The robe's sash was loosely tied around his waist, perfectly outlining his toned waistline.
His collar was wide open, revealing his well-defined chest and abdominal muscles, his skin glowing healthily under the light.
He put on his slippers, stepped into the bedroom, and gently closed the bathroom door behind him.
At the same time, he picked up a neatly folded towel from the side, casually draped it over his shoulder, and began to carefully dry his short hair. The towel swept over his hair, taking away the remaining water droplets, leaving behind strands of slightly messy, damp hair.
The man's bangs fell casually over his forehead, making him look like a refined gentleman who had stepped out of a painting, adding a touch of laziness and unruliness.
He walked to the table and picked up the pair of silver-rimmed glasses.
With his vision clear, his gaze swept over the things on the table, and he suddenly chuckled softly.
"Ha, instead of being a beautiful woman in the woods, she's become a thief on the roof."
He adjusted his silver-rimmed glasses, sat calmly on the edge of the bed, his gaze sweeping across the room before finally settling on the window, and said, "Since you're here, come out. Why hide?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the curtains in the corner of the window suddenly swayed, and Chuan Liu's figure walked out.
A smile flickered in Chuanliu's eyes as he helped him draw the curtains again, then asked softly, "How did Boss Zhou find out about me?"
"Intuition...maybe it's telepathy, who knows?" Zhou Zheng smiled slightly and said half-jokingly.
After he finished speaking, his gaze fell on Chuanliu.
The girl was dressed in a maid outfit, the once white fabric now stained red with blood, and even her face was stained with a few drops of bright red blood.
The man's brows furrowed slightly, but his tone still carried a hint of teasing: "Miss Chuanliu, what kind of outfit is this?"
Chuanliu's face was pale. She sat at Zhou Zheng's desk, facing the man, not at a disadvantage. "I thought 'Ace of Diamonds' was omniscient and omnipotent, but I didn't expect there were things Boss Zhou didn't know."
Just then, there was a knock on Zhou Zheng's door.
"What is it?" Zhou Zheng asked the person outside the door.
The man outside reported, "Boss, Li Chengfeng's men say that a suspicious vagrant dressed as a woman, dressed as a maid, has entered our residence. Should I send someone to look for him?"
Zhou Zheng glanced at Chuan Liu and said, "No need, everything as usual, don't let anyone else into the mansion."
"Yes." The subordinate outside the door left.
Zhou Zheng couldn't hide the smile in his eyes and said to Chuan Liu, "Crossdressing? A suspicious vagrant? What did you do to make Li Chengfeng think that way?"
Chuanliu touched his nose, looking like he didn't know.
Zhou Zheng shook his head helplessly and said softly, "I prepared the lemonade you asked me to prepare today, and I cooperated with the act you asked me to act. But you disturbed my sleep in the middle of the night. Isn't that a bit unfair?"
"Hey, that's not quite right," Chuanliu quickly raised his hand to stop him. "I'm just making a suggestion. Whether you implement it or not is up to you, Boss Zhou. Besides, I've already helped you find the real culprit, haven't I?"
The man smiled faintly. He did know who it was, but he still asked in return, "Those bowls of lemonade that you and he kept fiddling with?"
Chuanliu was somewhat surprised, then smiled with relief, "I knew it, Boss Zhou is all-knowing and all-powerful."
Indeed, she knew that after the meeting, Li Chengfeng would make his move; how could Zhou Zheng not have thought of that?
“However,” the girl changed the subject, “I came here at the risk of my life, precisely to give you another glimmer of hope.”
Upon hearing this, the man leaned slightly forward, and one hand naturally rested on the edge of the bed.
After saying that, Chuanliu suddenly lifted her skirt, and a black pistol appeared in her hand.
"How about it? Isn't this gift big enough?"
A playful smile played on her lips as her fingers deftly guided the pistol through the air, tracing elegant arcs before it landed gracefully in her palm, displaying complete composure.
Then, the girl threw the gun to Zhou Zheng.
Zhou Zheng caught it and asked, somewhat puzzled, "Why did you give it to me?"
The girl raised an eyebrow. "Because the most important thing between people is trust. Since I'm cooperating with you, I certainly won't treat you unfairly."
Zhou Zhengcai didn't believe this nonsense. After checking the magazine, he asked, "Where are the bullets?"
“Li Chengfeng only had two bullets left, and he’s used them all up,” Chuanliu said matter-of-factly, swinging his legs.
Zhou Zheng looked at the pistol and said, "Anyway, thank you."
