Chuan Liu has always believed: “Chaos is not an abyss, chaos is a ladder.”
Therefore, the magician Chuan Liu chose the criminal exile island – “Paradise Island.”
On this islan...
Chuanliu's injuries were mainly concentrated on her arms and hands. With an almost mechanical calmness, she applied medicine to each wound and then wrapped it with gauze.
Throughout the entire process, she remained silent, her face showing no change in expression, as if she felt no pain at all.
"You're quite tolerant."
Zhou Zheng leaned against the table with a leisurely air, a barely perceptible smile playing on his lips, and whispered with a hint of appreciation in his voice.
Chuanliu did not look up or respond verbally.
Her attention was focused on trying to lightly touch the most severe scar on her right shoulder.
It was a shocking wound, and every tiny movement felt like a challenge to her body's limits. Touching the wound caused the surrounding muscles to tense up, and waves of pain surged through her, instantly draining the color from her face and making her appear even paler and more fragile.
Seeing this, Zhou Zheng couldn't bear it any longer. He reached out and took the cotton ball and medicine from Chuan Liu's tightly clenched hand, then went behind her to apply the medicine.
"What are you doing? I can do it myself."
Chuanliu instinctively dodged his hand, his voice carrying a barely perceptible hint of wariness.
Upon hearing this, Zhou Zheng smiled warmly, a smile that seemed to have the power to melt ice and snow. He said with a hint of amusement, "It's getting late, and I'd like to go to bed early."
They think she's too slow.
Chuanliu muttered to herself as she turned her head away, letting him gently hold her shoulders from behind.
The man brushed Chuanliu's long hair to one side, gently touched the edge of the wound on Chuanliu's shoulder with a cotton ball, carefully cleaned the blood around the wound, disinfected it, and then blew on the wound.
The faint scent of medicine, mingled with the gentle breeze, carried a coolness that seemed to temporarily alleviate the burning sensation of the wound.
He then gently covered the wound with clean gauze and carefully wrapped it with bandages, one layer after another.
Throughout the entire process, the man's face was filled with seriousness and focus.
Your back should never be exposed to the enemy.
Chuanliu is well-versed in this art.
She was very uncomfortable with someone standing behind her, and her whole body was tense throughout the application of medicine until Zhou Zheng finished bandaging her up, at which point she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Behind Chuan Liu, Zhou Zheng's eyes were deep, and his gaze towards the woman carried a hint of ambiguity.
“Alright,” Zhou Zheng suddenly said, his expression softening as he looked at Chuan Liu again.
"So, how do you plan to get me out of here?" Chuanliu asked.
"You and I..."
Zhou Zheng had barely begun speaking when he was interrupted by a sudden sound—his room door was flung open with a loud bang.
"Brother! You..."
Liu Xingxing's voice came from behind the door, tinged with urgency and worry. However, the next second, his gaze fell on another person inside the room.
The woman had probably just taken a shower; her hair wasn't dry, and she was still wearing proper clothes...
He stopped speaking, his initial worry turning into a cold expression, his gaze towards Chuanliu filled with a mixture of inquiry and hostility.
Chuanliu's gaze lingered between Liu Xingxing and Zhou Zheng, as if he were considering whether he should offer an explanation for Zhou Zheng.
Liu Xingxing closed the door with a hint of displeasure, raised her head, and asked Chuanliu, "What are you doing here?"
She didn't like that attitude.
Chuanliu's gaze swept across the room, and she smiled sweetly, naturally placing her slender arm on Zhou Zheng's shoulder.
She looked directly into Liu Xingxing's eyes and said in an almost defiant tone, "Why can't I be here?"
Liu Xingxing pointed at Chuanliu and said, "You..."
"What? Brother Zhou Zheng didn't say anything, what are you saying?" After Chuanliu finished speaking, he deliberately leaned his head closer to Zhou Zheng's chest.
A blush crept onto Liu Xingxing's face. "I..."
"What? You know you're the third wheel?" Chuanliu retorted without backing down.
Chuanliu discovered that teasing Zhou Zheng and Qian Chuan, who were lukewarm at best, was not interesting. On the contrary, seeing Liu Xingxing, who usually had a cold face, speak sharply and sternly could satisfy her perverse sense of humor.
"Alright." Zhou Zheng helplessly stopped the two from arguing back and forth, and looked at Liu Xingxing, "Xingxing, what's wrong?"
Liu Xingxing's face flushed with anger. She crossed her arms and said irritably, "They said a perverted killer has infiltrated this place. I'm worried something might happen."
"It's nothing, just a misunderstanding. I'm about to see Miss Chuanliu off. Would you like to come along?" Zhou Zheng asked gently.
"No, thank you," Liu Xingxing said, his face was somber and his eyes were filled with disappointment. "I'm glad you're alright, brother. I'm going back now."
After saying that, he left.
"Why don't you explain?" Chuanliu finally lowered his hand, took two steps away from Zhou Zheng, and looked distant.
“There’s nothing to explain. Besides, isn’t our show just about to continue?” Zhou Zheng shook his head, sighed softly, and then resumed his usual smile. “Let’s go.”
Then, he took Chuanliu's hand, walked out of the house, and onto the main road of the mansion.
Behind her, several servants kept a proper distance and followed silently, their eyes filled with curiosity about this suddenly appearing "female companion".
Chuanliu tried to break free from Zhou Zheng's grasp, but the man held her hand tightly; given the injury on her hand, the struggle was clearly futile.
"Hey! You don't have to make this act so real, do you?" Chuanliu said through gritted teeth in a low voice.
She never expected that Zhou Zheng's so-called "idea" would be so terrible!
