Alien Yeshi starved to death, yet miraculously came back to life. She arrived in a strange place where the creatures weren't very hairy, liked to wear a layer of "skin" on their bodies,...
Because of the limited number of participants, Aunt Li had the boys and girls play the game separately. Each team used the back of their hands to decide who would be the eagle. In the end, Lin Meili, who had been having a run of bad luck that day, successfully became the eagle.
Lin Meili pouted but didn't say anything. However, when she saw Mei Si, her eyes lit up and she suddenly helped the chicks line up.
"Meisi, you run fast, you're at the back, right here." Lin Meili arranged for Yu Yanhua, the smallest and thinnest girl in the senior class, to be in front of Meisi. Usually, Yu Yanhua was the one who would drag the team down during games.
Mei didn't really want to play with the chicks, but Aunt Li insisted everyone participate. Before they arrived, Mei's mother had also told her to get along well with the other children. Mei thought she wanted to integrate into human society; perhaps these games were something human children did every day?
Mei Si imitated others' actions, placing her hands on both sides of Yu Yanhua's waist and tugging at her clothes.
Aunt Li shouted, "Start!"
The already somewhat chaotic queue suddenly erupted into deafening screams.
"ah!!!!"
Mei Si was startled and almost thought that everyone had seen Bu Yaoxing's magical beast. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that the person in front of her was Lin Meili.
Mei Si: Is Lin Meili scary? Why are you yelling and hiding from her? Oh, right! Aunt Li just said we can't let her catch us.
While scaring the other children in the chick team, Lin Meili ran towards the back of the line, determined to catch that fat girl, Mei Si, this time!
Just as Lin Meili was about to run up to her, Mei Si noticed that Yu Yanhua, who was in front of her, was staring blankly at the group of boys next to her.
"Hey! Lin Meili is about to catch you." Mei thought about the game rules that Aunt Li had explained and decided to remind Yu Yanhua.
"Ah? Ah!!! Run!" Yu Yanhua snapped out of her daze and screamed as she ran toward Lin Meili.
"..." Mei Si ran a few steps after him, but something still felt off.
Mei Si: Did I hear wrong? But Aunt Li clearly said to avoid the eagle's pursuit, so why is this person running towards Lin Meili?
"What are you doing? Yu Yanhua, do you even know how to play? You should stay away from Lin Meili, not run towards her!" Xu Aihua, who was in front of Yu Yanhua, got annoyed after being led a few steps by her and started loudly reminding her that she was running in the wrong direction.
"Ahhhhh!!!" Yu Yanhua was too busy screaming to hear what Xu Aihua was saying.
After hearing Xu Aihua's words, Mei Si knew that she had understood correctly. She simply picked up Yu Yanhua, who was still nagging, and led her to run in another direction with Xu Aihua.
They chased each other like this, and Lin Meili was panting heavily, but she didn't even manage to touch a single hair on Mei Si's head.
"Alright! Alright! Time's up! We'll stop here for now and continue tomorrow! Come on, everyone line up, we should go home." Aunt Li called everyone to line up when she saw that it was almost time.
Lin Meili wiped the sweat from her brow. She was furious! She'd run for so long and hadn't caught a single person. She hadn't even been the one caught yet! That Mei Si was so annoying! Couldn't she just stop running and let her catch someone once?
Aunt Li led the children, who had lined up, back to the classroom, and asked them to sit down and rest for a while before leaving the classroom herself.
A little while later, Aunt Li and another Aunt Chen came in, each carrying a bucket.
"Everyone, go get your own water cups and come line up to drink water. Take your time and don't rush! Tang Weiguo, no cutting in line, go to the back of the line!" Aunt Li directed the children to line up in two rows, and she and Aunt Chen began to scoop water from the bucket for everyone to drink.
Mei Si was a little confused. Did she have to queue for water? Why did they all have water jugs, but she didn't?
"Sisi, come here! I already told your mother today that you'll have your own water container tomorrow. Use the water ladle to drink today." Aunt Li called Meisi over, scooped a little water for her with the ladle, and told her to drink slowly.
After drinking water and resting for a while, Aunt Li led everyone out of the classroom in a line again.
This time, instead of going out, everyone went to a smelly place where the children would go to the toilet in groups of five.
After everyone finished using the restroom, Aunt Li led them to the washroom again. She helped each child wash their hands. Once their hands were clean, Aunt Li stopped asking them to line up and let them go back to the classroom on their own.
Mei Si watched quietly and thought these people were really inefficient; it took them a long time just to go to the toilet and wash their hands.
When Mei Si finished washing her hands and was walking back, she found that someone was waiting for her to go back to the classroom together.
"Meisi, you're so slow! My hands are already dry, and you've only just washed them." Liu Jiajia complained that Meisi was taking too long to wash her hands.
"Meisi, you were amazing today! If it weren't for you when the eagle was catching the chicks, Yu Yanhua would definitely have gotten us caught too." Xu Aihua skipped along to Meisi's left, looking at Meisi with great admiration.
"Are you Xu Aihua?" Mei Si recalled that when they were playing Eagle Catching Chicks, the person in front of Yu Yanhua was named Xu Aihua.
"Yes! You have a great memory." Xu Aihua was surprised that Mei Si remembered her name and nodded excitedly.
"What about me? Do you remember me?" When Liu Jiajia saw that Mei Si remembered Xu Aihua, she felt that Mei Si would also know who she was.
Mei Si glanced at Liu Jiajia a few times and, seeing the two messy braids on her head, roughly knew who she was.
"Liu Jiajia?"
“Yes, yes, yes! Meisi, you have such a good memory! You’re so smart too. When Auntie was teaching you math, you were the only one who asked those questions. I never even thought to ask Auntie those questions.” Liu Jiajia hugged Meisi’s arm and said.
