Chapter 67

"Why are you everywhere? Can't you just shut up and go out to get some skewers?" Feng Hai regretted coming to eat skewers today; he should have gone to eat something else.

"Bang!" Mei Si lightly slapped the table, causing it to sag slightly.

Xu Liang looked at the table with worry; he could hear it groaning in pain and hoped it wouldn't collapse.

"Who the hell are you talking to? Do you even know who he is?" Mei Si glared at Feng Hai, her hands still busy, as she continued to grab meat skewers.

Feng Hai was taken aback. Could it be that Xu Liang had some powerful backer?

"Meisi, how dare you talk to Brother Feng like that? Apologize right now!" Wu Zhengbo, who had been whispering to his girlfriend, was displeased and felt that Meisi was being a bit shameless.

“Xiao Bo can’t argue with Mei Si. Mei Si, who is this Xu Liang? I really don’t know. Tell me about him.” Feng Hai turned around and glared at Wu Zhengbo before asking Mei Si about Xu Liang’s background, making sure he didn’t offend anyone he shouldn’t.

"Nobody, I don't..." Xu Liang knew what Mei Si was going to say, so he quickly interrupted. He didn't want the people here to know what his relationship with Mei Si was; it would be too embarrassing.

"What's wrong with you? Did Brother Feng ask you? Are the rest of our skewers done? Don't burn them, or we won't pay you." Huang Qiang finally understood that Brother Feng wanted to date Mei Si.

"Coming right away!" Xu Liang also remembered the meat skewers on the stove outside. He didn't care about saving face anymore and quickly ran outside.

Xu Liang: I can't afford to mess this up again, or my brother will beat me up!

“Xu Liang is my younger brother,” Mei Si said, swallowing the meat in her mouth.

Everyone: ...That's a bit of an overstatement.

No one took Mei Si's words seriously. After all, the guy selling kebabs looked older than Feng Hai. How could he be the underling of a first-year junior high school girl?

"Meisi, let me just say it directly, would you like to be my girlfriend?" As soon as Feng Hai said this, he immediately felt relieved.

He shouldn't have listened to Wu Zhengbo. Why was he being so reserved? Why didn't he just say it directly? How could that scare the girl? Look! Mei Si didn't even blush; her face is still fair and delicate!

"I don't want to."

"Why don't you want to? What's wrong with me?" Feng Hai didn't expect Mei Si to refuse. With his qualifications, if he shouted it out at school, there would be plenty of people willing to date him.

Feng Hai: Was I too domineering? Did I scare her?

My brother doesn't have a girlfriend.

"Your reason is too flimsy. You need to have a plausible reason to refuse me."

"The biggest reason is that you're too ugly," Mei Si said, giving Feng Hai a disdainful look.

She didn't want to tell the truth; Gou Sheng wouldn't let her always speak her mind, but Feng Hai insisted on asking.

"What?" Feng Hai thought he must have misheard. Someone actually said he was ugly?! How could that be?

Feng Hai: If I'm ugly, then what about all those girls who bring me food? Are they hallucinating?

Feng Hai was most satisfied with his face; when he walked around school, many girls would secretly look at him.

"Meisi, what are you talking about? Feng is so handsome, so many girls at school like him." Zhao Gang felt that Meisi's joke was ill-timed.

"I'm not joking."

Mei Si finished off a skewer of mutton, then looked up and stared directly into Zhao Gang's eyes, letting him see her sincere gaze.

"Meisi, if you don't want to be together, just say so. What kind of lame excuse is that!" Feng Hai said impatiently.

No matter how pretty Mei Si is, she can't help it if she doesn't know how to talk. Feng Hai is used to being flattered and hates people who don't go along with him.

“I’ve said it before, I’m not into dating.” Mei Si said that she had said this before, but he insisted on asking why.

"The skewers are here, 60 pork skewers, you've ordered all the skewers."

Xu Liang brought in a large bunch of pork skewers and was about to put them on a plate when Wu Zhengbo, seeing Feng Hai frowning, started picking a fight.

"Wait! This skewer is burnt, we don't want it." Wu Zhengbo reached out to stop Xu Liang from putting the skewer down.

"It's just a little burnt, but it doesn't affect how you eat it." Xu Liang pointed to a few skewers of meat that were a little burnt on the edges, indicating that they were still edible.

“We already said that if it flops, we won’t want it anymore.” Wu Zhengbo knew Feng Hai well and knew that if the relationship didn’t work out, he definitely wouldn’t want to spend so much money.

Wu Zhengbo: If I spend too much money this time, I probably won't get any good food for the next few days, and I might even have to help Feng Hai out. That won't do! I don't even have enough money for Lu Qi and me!

"Then these few burnt skewers don't count." Xu Liang separated out the two or three slightly burnt skewers.

"Can't you understand human language? We don't want this skewer!" Wu Zhengbo stood up abruptly and shouted.

"You ordered them, they're grilled, how can you just turn them away?" Xu Liang was anxious. These skewers cost a lot of money, how could they just be returned like that? Absolutely not!

“We didn’t order this skewer. If you want money, go ask the person who ordered it,” Lu Qi said, glancing sideways at Mei Si.

Everyone present, except for Mays, understood what she meant.

“It was Feng Hai who ordered it,” Mei Si reminded her.

"Brother Feng, don't listen to her nonsense, that's not what I meant." Lu Qi was taken aback. She was clearly talking about Mei Si, how did she get involved with Brother Feng?

"I know what you mean." Feng Hai waved his hand and gave Lu Qi a smirk, indicating that he didn't take it to heart.

Lu Qi glared fiercely at Mei Si, thinking that Mei Si was really vicious, almost making her offend Brother Feng. Lu Qi decided to find time to teach Mei Si a lesson.

“Brother Feng did order skewers, but he ordered 30 pork skewers, 10 beef skewers, and 10 lamb skewers. You doubled the price of the skewers.” Seeing that this relationship was not going to work out, Zhao Gang quickly made his stance clear. He didn’t want to be implicated by Mei Si; he still wanted to follow Brother Feng.
