Laughter Tilts the Three Kingdoms

On a winter afternoon, the sun was brilliant, yet the chill remained palpable.

Chapter 116 The Return of Tuanzi

Chapter 116 The Return of Tuanzi

Baozi's predicament made me make up my mind immediately. That very night, I packed my bags, ready to seize any opportunity to escape.

Baozi is my child, my only blood relative. I cannot lose him, and I cannot allow even the slightest accident to happen to him. But within this Prime Minister's residence, a group of ladies and young masters are eyeing me covetously, and there are hidden dangers and "accidents" everywhere.

The next morning, as soon as I opened the door, I saw a strange, arrogant little donkey munching on flowers and grass in the courtyard of Tongmeng Pavilion.

"A demigod?!" I looked at the man in blue standing in the courtyard with surprise.

Guo Jia turned around and looked at me with a smile, "Good morning."

I raised my hand in a daze to greet them, "What brings you here?"

Guo Jia smiled, "Ahem... Guess who I brought?"

"Who?" I glanced curiously behind Guo Jia. "Tuanzi?!"

Tuanzi rolled her eyes at me, then walked up to me in an extremely ladylike manner.

"I heard from the Prime Minister that you're not used to the maids in the mansion," Guo Jia said.

"But...isn't she serving you?" I asked, suppressing a laugh, seeing Tuanzi's pout that looked like it could hang an oil bottle.

Upon hearing this, Tuanzi quickly turned around and nodded repeatedly to Guo Jia.

Guo Jia coughed lightly and laughed, "I don't need anyone to serve me, and besides, there's a difference between men and women, so it's not very convenient."

That pedantic fellow...

"Chirp...chirp..." Just then, the little dumpling in my arms shook and stretched out its chubby little hands to rush towards Guo Jia.

Guo Jia laughed, took the steamed bun from my hand and hugged it to his chest. "Steamed bun, what's wrong?"

Baozi rubbed against him, leaving a wet drool stain on his chest.

Guo Jia didn't mind at all; he simply held the steamed bun, his clear eyes filled with a smile.

Looking at Guo Jia, dressed in green and holding a steamed bun in the morning sun, I felt a surge of warmth, and the desolate feeling completely disappeared.

I accepted the reluctant dumpling with a smile, but I still had some doubts in my heart. Guo Jia had clearly said that the dumpling's origin was suspicious, so why was it sent to the Prime Minister's residence? Wouldn't that give the dumpling an opportunity to take advantage of me?

But since I was already determined to leave anyway, I couldn't be bothered to argue about it anymore.

After seeing Guo Jia off, Tuanzi, who had just been acting like a lady, immediately revealed her true colors as soon as Guo Jia left, baring her teeth and glaring at me, "You left, why did you come back and get in my way?"

I was both amused and exasperated. "What's it to you?"

"Young master! He's almost fallen for me, and you had to come back at this crucial moment!" Tuanzi said indignantly.

"Huh? The fortune teller is falling for you? Why didn't I sense it?" I said, suppressing a laugh.

Tuanzi was speechless and rolled her eyes at me.

"You can't do it like this. Do you want me to teach you a few tricks?" I patted her shoulder with a smile, acting like one of our own.

"You?" Tuanzi raised her voice, her face full of suspicion.

"Of course," I proudly held up the steamed bun in my hand, "Look, this is the result!" I boasted without batting an eye, completely disregarding the fact that the steamed bun was an accidental product of that drunken night...

"Chirp! Chirp! Yahoo!" Baozi also chirped, showing his full support for his mother.

"You mean..." Tuanzi's eyes lit up, and she looked at me slyly.

“Yes!” I nodded, grinning like a pimp.

In broad daylight, Guo Jia, who was discussing matters with Cao Cao, suddenly sneezed.

After lunch and putting Baozi to sleep, Tuanzi and I sat in the room for a "secret talk".

"Wow, I didn't realize we were kindred spirits!" Since I was going to help her win over Guo Jia, Tuanzi immediately looked at me with new respect.

I chuckled softly twice and started gesturing wildly, "You have to do it like this... and then do it like that..."

With the perfect strategic plan complete, I'm going to act as a matchmaker and intercept the male lead.

Just as he slipped out of Tongmeng Pavilion, he saw Guo Jia, dressed in a blue robe, walking out of Cao Cao's study across the street.

"Immortal! Immortal!" I rushed forward, grabbed him, and started walking back.

"Pei'er, what's wrong?" Guo Jia looked at me with a puzzled expression as I dragged him away.

"Tuanzi has prepared dinner. Since you'll be alone when you go back anyway, why not have dinner before you go?" I said with a beaming smile, extremely enthusiastic. Tuanzi is with Guo Jia, and I can go find Zhao'er to plot our escape. What a perfect opportunity...

“But men and women should be different. How can Fengxiao barge into the lady’s room?” Guo Jia said hesitantly.

"Huh?" I thought to myself, this is an old-fashioned scholar. "Ah! I almost forgot, I made an appointment with Cao Cao, so I wasn't in the room, so it's no problem!"

"Prime Minister?" Guo Jia was completely bewildered.

"Yes, we made plans to go out," a voice replied, but it wasn't my voice.

I turned my head with a chill running down my spine and saw a guy standing behind me with a smug grin on his face.

Speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao arrives...

Crows cawed as they flew overhead in a magnificent display.

...His appearance was so timely, such a coincidence, that I couldn't help but suspect he came specifically to find fault with me...

In his eyes, I'm already a repeat offender... He treats me like a thief...

"Prime Minister?" Guo Jia coughed lightly. "So you really are going out with Lady Huan?"

“Hmm,” Cao nodded solemnly.

Alas, I've shot myself in the foot; I'm such a fool.

With my head drooping, I walked into Tongmeng Pavilion. I told Tuanzi to greet Guo Jia, then picked up Baozi and resignedly headed for the door.

Cao Cao smiled and patted my head. "My wife is truly intelligent. I was just about to go out, and you knew it."

I rolled my eyes at him. "That's called telepathy."

Cao Cao nodded with a smile, "A meeting of minds, wonderful!"

"Wonderful!" a small voice rang out, "Wonderful...wonderful...wonderful...".

"Does the lady also think so?" Cao Cao turned to look at me.

I stared at the little dumpling who was blowing bubbles, and he kept saying "Meow...meow...meow..." as he blew bubbles.

Traitorous kitten...

"It's your son." I was speechless. He likes to mimic everything, but he just won't call me "Mom." So frustrating...

Cao Cao laughed loudly, grabbed my hand, and swaggered out of the mansion.

My escape plan had to be put on hold for the time being.
