In addition to these, the rest of the land tax, customs duties, likin, monopoly, household registration, land, etc. are all within the responsibilities of the three departments.

By analogy, the three departments of the Song Dynasty are like the Ministry of Revenue in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Civil Affairs in later generations.

The Three Departments are further divided into the Salt and Iron Department, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Revenue. The current head of the Three Departments is Cheng Lin, also known as the Minister of Planning. The deputy heads of the Three Departments are Liu Yuanyu, the deputy head of the Salt and Iron Department, Xia Song, the deputy head of the Ministry of Finance, and Yan Shu, the deputy head of the Ministry of Revenue.

In terms of status, the Prime Minister of the Three Departments was second only to the Chief Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister. His political status basically remained between the third and second ranks, making him one of the highest-ranking officials in the Song Dynasty.

The current Sansi Yamen is the headquarters.

There was even a standing army responsible for the transportation and management of food, fodder, and supplies for the imperial guards. They were called the Cavalry and Infantry Army Food and Supply Officers and the Cavalry and Infantry Army Special Officers.

Therefore, in terms of authority, the three courts have very great power.

At this moment, in the Sansi Yamen, hundreds of officials were doing their jobs, transcribing and managing the official documents reported from all over the country today. Those that the lower-level officials could handle would be handled, and those that they could not handle would be reported to the deputy envoy or the official historian for review.

In terms of workload, unless they were as meticulous as Zhu Yuanzhang, ancient emperors and officials did not actually have to work too hard. Small matters were basically handled by their subordinates, and only major matters were decided by them.
