Chapter 258 Bai Yichen, Dream

Just then, the scene that suddenly appeared before her eyes puzzled her greatly.

She saw a strange light, as colorful as a rainbow, yet carrying a hint of eeriness.

The light seemed to have some kind of attraction, drawing her involuntarily toward it.

As she approached the light, she found herself in a completely unfamiliar place.

Everything here seems so unreal, as if it comes from another dimension.

Strange clouds floated in the sky, and bizarre plants grew on the ground.

A series of voices came from somewhere.

"How did she get here?"

"Didn't she go to the human world?"

"Yeah, that's strange. Could it be that she's returned from her tribulation?"

"Impossible, right? If she succeeded, she would still be a goddess in heaven."

Li Xi's head was spinning from the noise, and she yelled, "Who's talking over there?"

The surroundings immediately fell silent, and Li Xi began to cautiously observe her surroundings.

Suddenly, she felt someone tap her on the shoulder from behind.

She turned her head and saw a simply dressed but refined-looking man smiling at her.

"Who are you?" Li Xi asked nervously.

"My name is Bai Yichen, and I am the guardian of this place," the man said gently. "Why have you come here?"

Li Xi told Bai Yichen about her situation, and Bai Yichen seemed thoughtful after listening.

"Perhaps this is fate," Bai Yichen said softly. "Now that you're here, let me show you around."

Li Xi hesitated for a moment, but ultimately followed Bai Yichen.

They walked through a misty forest and came to a tranquil lake.

The lake water is crystal clear, and in the middle of the lake is a small island with an ancient temple on it.

"What is that temple?" Li Xi asked curiously.

“That’s the Temple of the Soul, where it’s said to cleanse the soul and help one find their true self,” Bai Yichen explained.

Li Xi's heart skipped a beat. "Could I go and take a look? This place feels somewhat familiar."

Bai Yichen smiled and nodded, then led her onto a small boat and rowed towards the island in the middle of the lake.

As they landed on the island and entered the temple, a sense of tranquility and peace enveloped them.

Inside the temple is a Buddha statue with a benevolent face, as if it could see through everything.

Li Xi knelt before the Buddha statue and closed her eyes in prayer.

Just then, she felt a warm power emanating from the Buddha statue, flowing into her body and making her feel warm all over.

When Li Xi opened her eyes, she saw Bai Yichen's concerned gaze.

"Are you alright?" Bai Yichen asked.

Li Xi nodded. Although it was a dream, she could still feel the power brought by the Buddha statue.

"Thank you," Li Xi said gratefully.

Bai Yichen smiled and shook his head. "This is your own destiny and fortune. I am just a guide. The one who can truly understand and obtain this power is always yourself."

His words were as gentle as a spring breeze, making Li Xi feel at ease.

The two continued walking in the forest, and Li Xi discovered that the plants and animals here emitted a strange light, as if they contained some kind of mysterious power.

"Where is this place? There are so many strange things here," she couldn't help but wonder.

Before Bai Yichen could answer, a brightly colored bird landed in front of her and said arrogantly, "You're the one who's something! We're not some strange mortal like you. Humph!"

It raised its proud head and looked down at Li Xi.

Li Xi was startled by the sudden appearance of the bird. She took a step back, looking at the brightly colored bird with a puzzled expression. She tried to understand what the bird was saying, but felt completely confused.

"Ah, it can talk?" Li Xi exclaimed in surprise, pointing at the bird.

The bird straightened its chest, as if it was very pleased with Li Xi's surprise.

Bai Yichen smiled and replied, "This is the Spirit Realm, a place completely different from the real world you know. Here, all things have spirits; they can speak and have their own thoughts and feelings. This bird is a part of the Spirit Realm."

Li Xi listened to Bai Yichen's explanation, her mind filled with doubt. It seemed her dream was getting more and more outlandish.

Just as she stood there in astonishment, Bai Yichen gently nudged her.

His expression was quite strange: "You should also return to that place, where there is still a mission waiting for you to fulfill. This is the path you have chosen for yourself. All things follow the cycle of cause and effect. Since it began with you, it should end with you."

With the push from Bai Yichen, Li Xi fell into endless darkness.

My body seemed to be falling, and the surroundings were filled with the howling of the wind.

Her heart was beating faster and faster, as if it were about to jump out of her chest.

Suddenly, a blinding light flashed, and Li Xi opened her eyes abruptly, finding herself lying on Lan'er's bed, surrounded by the familiar room layout.

She rubbed her eyes to make sure she was back in the real world.

Recalling what had just happened, Li Xi felt a wave of fear.

Was that a dream? But why did it feel so real?

What did Bai Yichen mean by that? What mission does she need to fulfill?

Sweetie, who had been watching over her, was overjoyed to see Li Xi wake up. "Miss Xi, you're finally awake?"

Li Xi nodded gently, a hint of confusion on her face. "Sweetie, how long have I been asleep?"

“It’s been four whole days, Miss Xi,” Tian Tian replied with concern. “Your injury and unconsciousness terrified everyone. Fortunately, Miss Lan is here. She hasn’t given up on treating you. Just now, she and Master Feng were administering acupuncture. I have to hurry and tell them this good news.”

She wiped away her tears and ran out eagerly to tell the others the good news.

Meng Zhelan had just finished showering and changed into clean clothes. Before she could even fix her hair, she heard a sweet exclamation.

She was startled, not knowing what had happened, and hurriedly ran out.

When she saw that Li Xi had woken up, a huge weight was finally lifted from her heart.

But at the same time, she couldn't help but shed tears. She quickly walked to the bedside and hugged Li Xi tightly, as if afraid that she would disappear again.

"You're finally awake... You scared me to death... Never do that again, getting yourself all injured trying to save someone," Meng Zhelan said, her voice choked with emotion.

Her tears flowed incessantly, soaking Li Xi's shoulder.

Feeling Meng Zhelan's warm embrace and caring words, Li Xi was filled with emotion and relief.

She gently patted Meng Zhelan's back and comforted her, "It's alright, I'm fine now. Don't worry, I'll be more careful next time."
