Chapter 130 I Miss You

“That brand of trench coats is really nice. Should we pick out a couple for Chu Zhen? Chu Zhen has such long legs, he looks so handsome in trench coats. I was totally smitten with him back then.” Vera looked like a lovesick girl.

Over the years, it seems I haven't given Chu Zhen anything. The two of them almost always go shopping for clothes together, choosing similar styles from the women's and men's sections of the same store. So every time they wear them out, they subtly show their affection. I looked at those trench coats, and they were indeed quite nice.

"Wow, you're rich! Buying so much!" We had just entered when we saw a man and a woman leaving with large bags of groceries. "You Asians have really strong purchasing power!"

Upon hearing "Asian," I took a closer look, and what I saw startled me. The woman was none other than Amy! But who was the man next to her? They were holding hands, clearly a couple deeply in love.

"What are you doing, Lin Dang? Let Chu Zhen come over. You can have him swipe his card for you like this too." Vera probably thought I was envious.

"It's alright, let's go, I'll pick out a few things for Chu Zhen."

I didn't tell Chu Zhen about seeing Amy. If I had, he would definitely have flown over. I just don't know if Amy saw me. She was still the same as when I first met her, with bright red lips and a charming and alluring look. However, the smile on her face couldn't hide the loneliness in her eyes.

Amy's appearance made my hard-won peace of mind uneasy. Seeing her face reminded me of Chu Lin, Chu Yilin, the knife she used to stab Chu Zhen, and the scar on my own face. This woman was terrifying. I never thought I would meet her in America.

I bought some self-defense items through my classmates in the training camp. New York is different from City A; here I have to rely on myself. Actually, what I'm more worried about is that Amy will see me one day.

"Lin Dang, I'm going out to do an interview for the next couple of days, so I won't be home. Take care of yourself." Vera is going to the next city for an interview, and she'll also take the opportunity to catch up with her favorite star, who happens to be having a concert there.

Don't worry, I wish you success in getting a photo with your idol!

Classes are usually concentrated in the morning, so there's not much to do in the afternoon. Vera used to take me to many places to visit, places that Chu Zhen had been to before. Now that Vera isn't here, I plan to stay home for the next couple of days since I don't have classes.

"What are you doing here?" I saw Amy standing at the door as soon as I got to my house.

"Wait for you."

"What's up?"

"Aren't you going to invite me inside?"

“Let’s talk here!” Indeed, I didn’t intend to invite her inside. After everything that had happened, I had to be wary of her. Although Vera’s villa was in the suburbs, where there were few people, there were still occasional cars passing by on the roadside. It was better than “meeting trouble” inside the house. My hand was also on my bag, ready to defend myself at any moment.

"I heard you had twins, a boy and a girl. Shouldn't you thank me?" Amy smiled, but why did that usually charming smile send chills down my spine?

"grateful?"

"If it weren't for me, would you have gotten pregnant with twins?"

“If it weren’t for you, I might have four children now,” I said coldly.

"Lin Dang, I still don't believe it. What kind of magic did you use on Chu Zhen to make him so devoted to you?"

"I don't know any magic, but I still have humanity. I believe no one can feel any goodwill towards someone who has lost their humanity!"

"You really are a journalist, quick-witted and sharp-tongued. You'll be staying in America for a while, right? We'll have plenty of opportunities to meet again. Until we meet again!" Amy shook her keychain, her smile terrifying and eerie.

I entered the room, my heart pounding, unable to calm down. Amy's last words made it clear that the country had always wanted me dead, and now that I was on her home turf, how could she let me go so easily? I checked the time; it was almost midnight in China. I wondered if Chu Zhen was resting yet.

"Chu Zhen, I miss you~"

Yes, I miss Chu Zhen.

Chu Zhen had arranged everything for me, and I felt the care Vera gave me here. But I neglected Amy. Now, tens of thousands of kilometers away from City A, I feel a strong sense of helplessness and fear. If I were alone, I might not be afraid of anything, but now I have Chu Zhen, An'an and Huanhuan. I can't let them go. I miss Chu Zhen. I miss her so much.

"I miss you too!" Chu Zhen really hadn't rested; those four simple words calmed my uneasy heart.

I locked all the doors and windows from the inside and drew all the curtains. The completely enclosed space made me feel a little more at ease. I went to the storage room and found the golf clubs, placing them on the bedside table and next to the sofa. I put everything I could use for self-defense within easy reach. In City A, Amy could hire someone to cause a car accident to kill me, drug a cake, and kidnap me; she could certainly do that here, where the security situation is unstable.

I don't know when I fell asleep. When I opened my eyes again, it was already noon the next day. I had a nightmare all night. I dreamed of Chu Lin under the wheels of a car and of Chu Yi Lin covered in blood. They kept calling out "Mom, Mom." This nightmare gave me a terrible headache. I sent a message to my classmate and decided to skip class today.

"jingle......"

The doorbell rang, breaking my thoughts. Could it be that Vera is back?

"Who?" I asked through the door.

"I am Chu Zhen."

The familiar subwoofer made me quickly open the door.

The moment the door opened, light streamed into the dark room, and Chu Zhen's tall figure stood in the sunlight. At that moment, his appearance was like that of a god who had saved the world. I rubbed my eyes, confirmed it was him, and excitedly threw myself at him. All the emotions I had been holding back instantly collapsed, turning into tears that soaked my entire face.

Chu Zhen picked me up and dragged my luggage into the house. He didn't say anything, just held me like that, and his embrace slowly calmed me down.

"Why are you here?" I asked, my voice trembling with tears.

"For you to say 'I miss you,' something must have happened. After you sent me that message yesterday, I bought the next available flight and came over." Chu Zhen wiped away my tears. "Have you been wronged?"

"Amy came to see me."

When I said those words, Chu Zhen tightened his grip on my arm, which was enough for him to know why I was feeling that way.

"I'm here, leave it to me." Chu Zhen hugged me tightly.

“Oh my god, did I come back at the wrong time?” Vera’s voice suddenly appeared. It seemed that we had forgotten to close the door when we came in, and she saw us hugging each other as soon as she entered.

"Why are you back? Weren't you supposed to be back tomorrow?"

“It’s not that I was worried about you being home alone, but I think I came back at the wrong time. I can still go out again,” Vera said with a smile, pushing her suitcase.
