Chapter 50 Something to say

This elevator ride was the most painful one Yu Huan had ever taken. She felt that the few minutes were as unbearable as several hours.

After finally reaching the floor, everyone got out of the elevator. She deliberately fell at the back to avoid the crowd.

Fortunately, everyone's attention was on the bride they were about to see, and no one paid too much attention to her.

Yu Huan had attended several wedding banquets, but this was his first time participating in a bride-picking ceremony. The uncomfortable feeling he had just had was soon replaced by novelty.

She was especially shocked when she saw the best man being asked to play games.

She originally thought that someone like Meng Han would not agree to play these childish and funny games, but she did not expect him to cooperate so unexpectedly.

Sometimes I would laugh out loud because of my own or my friends' embarrassing moments.

The impact this scene had on Yu Huan was no less than when he first learned that Meng Han was an insider. In Yu Huan's eyes, he became more and more unpredictable.

She thought he was a sacred and inviolable flower on the mountain top, but she accidentally discovered that his roots were in the mud, and hidden under his holiness and arrogance were the most primitive desires and nature.

She thought this was all he was, but today she saw another side of him.

They can laugh and make noises, and are full of the flavor of life.

She was like a possessed person again, her heart began to beat violently and she couldn't control it.

All the rest of the excitement had nothing to do with her. She could only see this person.

"Who are you looking at so intently?" Takanashi came up to her and teased her without her noticing.

Yu Huan suddenly came back to his senses and looked at Gao Li with helplessness and panic in his eyes as if he had been exposed.

She was afraid that others would know about her humble and hidden feelings.

Takanashi was startled by her eyes, and a surprised smile appeared on his face. "I was right? Who? Is he the one standing next to my brother just now? I heard that he is my sister-in-law's cousin, the same age as you, and he is really handsome!"

Yu Huan breathed a sigh of relief that the person he mentioned didn't hit the mark.

"It's too hot in here. I'm going downstairs to get some fresh air." She made up an excuse and turned to leave.

"Hot? It's so hot in the middle of winter?" Gao Li looked at Yu Huan's back as he left and asked in confusion.

Coming out of the house, a breeze blew through the long corridor, dispersing the remaining heat in her brain and making her wake up instantly.

After waking up, she felt a heavy and depressed emotion stuck in her heart, which made her feel even worse.

She spent so many days preparing herself mentally, trying to get rid of those inappropriate thoughts, continue to work diligently, and be an honest and responsible subordinate.

But it only took one simple move from him to break her mind, and she fell even deeper than before.

She didn't know what to do.

"Why are you standing here? Aren't you cold?" A questioning voice came from behind her. She turned her head and felt even more annoyed when she saw the person coming.

It was Zhang Qi. He walked up to her and took out a cigarette box from his pocket.

"Do you mind?"

Yu Huan immediately said, "Then you pick me up and let me go in first."

"It's okay, I can..."

Before he could finish, Yu Huan turned and left.

Just at this moment, Meng Han came out of the house. He was answering the phone. He looked up at her, then his eyes passed over her and fell on Zhang Qi behind her.

He quickly looked away, took the phone and pushed open the door to the fire escape.

Yu Huan just felt more depressed.

The bride-picking ceremony ended quickly. This time, Yu Huan hid at the back and waited until everyone had gone down before following the last group of people.

When she arrived at the garage, the car she had taken was already full. Takanashi greeted her from inside the car, "There's still room in the back, go sit there."

Yu Huan was eager to do so and trotted to the car behind to find an empty seat.

After arriving at the hotel, she had nothing to do. She found a table on the side of the male guests and sat down, waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Yu Huan does not look forward to marriage. She has long been disenchanted with weddings and has never felt envy or longing when attending a wedding.

She only cares about when the meal starts.

But maybe it was because she could see that figure from time to time on the field today, this wedding touched her heart more than any other wedding.

It's hard for her not to notice.

After the wedding ceremony was finally over and the meal was about to start, she was called to another table by Takanashi, "Sit with me. That table is reserved for my brother's mother's relatives."

Yu Huan followed Gao Li to another table and sat down. A few minutes later, she regretted it.

Unexpectedly, this table was for the groomsmen and bridesmaids. There were four groomsmen, four bridesmaids, plus her and Takanashi, which made it just enough for one table.

What made her feel even more uncomfortable was that it was Zhang Qi who wanted to sit next to her, but Meng Han, whether intentionally or unintentionally, sat directly next to her, forcing Zhang Qi to sit next to him.

"Old Meng, how could you not have any tact?" She heard Zhang Qi complaining in a low voice.

"What?" Meng Han seemed not to hear clearly and asked him back.

Yu Huan looked over, and Zhang Qi couldn't say anything more. "Nothing."

Yu Huan withdrew his gaze and his heart beat faster.

She heard it all clearly. He was sitting next to Zhang Qi, so how could he not have heard it clearly?

So, he did it on purpose, right?

Because of this guess, Yu Huan lost his appetite. On the one hand, he was trying to figure out what Meng Han meant, and on the other hand, he was wondering if he was overthinking it and that he really might not have heard clearly.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't even hear Meng Han talking to her.

It was Takanashi who touched her and said, "Your boss is calling you."

Yu Huan looked up suddenly, "Mr. Meng, you called me?"

When she met Meng Han's gaze, her face turned red uncontrollably.

Two words immediately popped up in her mind.

It's over.

Neither she nor Meng Han could pretend that nothing had happened.

Meng Han was obviously thinking the same thing as she had guessed. He looked at her with a slightly serious expression and said, "Wait for me after dinner. I have something to tell you."

Yu Huan felt uneasy and could only nod.

"We haven't even started work yet. Why do you have to talk about work now? You, the boss, are really heartless." Zhang Qi stood up for her.

Meng Han glanced at him and changed the subject, "When are you leaving?"

"I left right after dinner because I had to rush back to take care of some things." He then complained to Meng Han, "So you really have no sense at all."

Meng Han pretended not to hear.

After dinner, Yu Huan followed Meng Han, said goodbye to the host, and left with him.

He didn't say a word until he reached his car in the parking lot.

"Mr. Meng, don't you have something to say?" Yu Huan stopped.

Meng Han was about to open the car door when he looked up at her and said, "You want to talk to me here?" He gestured around.

Of course, Yu Huan didn't mean that, but she didn't want to stay in a cramped space with Meng Han. She was afraid that she would lose control and say something irreparable.

"There's a cafe over there. Why don't we go there and talk?" She raised her hand and pointed to one side.

Meng Han opened the car door and said something.

"Get in the car."
