Accident

Accident

The installation progress of the mall's observation elevator is faster than the mall expected.

It was Tong Xiaolai's birthday, so Shao Linyin took a day off. When he went there the next day, the master hadn't done anything the night before. He just swept the well to facilitate the subsequent installation. There was nothing else he did.

He couldn't quite believe what the master said. When he arrived at the construction site, the parts had clearly been sorted and organized. If they said they would replace the parts, then they would definitely replace them.

In addition, the place where the master lives is very far from here, and the community where he lives is very close to here.

So when the master left at twelve o'clock every day, he would always do some more work by himself, until about two or three o'clock. Although one person's efficiency was slower, it could also help the master save a lot of work.

So after about twenty days, the last few elevator doors were installed, and another day or two of finishing work would be completed.

When Shao Liyin showed up at the mall on time at 10 o'clock in the evening, there were still some shops open, but there were basically no customers. They were all preparing to close.

Shao Linyin had been eyeing the cake shop next to their ladder for a long time. Tomorrow was his birthday. That wasn't important. What was important was that his birthday was also the anniversary of his and Xiaolai's meeting. He had to order a cake tomorrow.

I feel happy whenever I think about it, and I grin while working.

"What good news do you have, kid?" The master leaned the elevator door against the wall and squatted on the ground to count the screws and accessories needed for installation. After the count was correct, he went downstairs to move the door to the second floor.

Shao Liyin smiled and said, "Master, I have some personal matters to attend to tomorrow. I would like to ask for leave. Is that okay with you?"

"Dating someone?"

Shao Liyin chuckled. As soon as his master saw his expression, he knew what he meant and snorted, "I knew you were dating. Little Li in the office has noticed it for a long time and keeps asking who can marry a handsome guy like you."

Shao Liyin remembered what the little girl at school said: "It shocks the heavens and the earth, makes ghosts and gods weep, and even the gods would be ashamed." She smiled even more brightly: "A person who is more beautiful than the gods."

The master rolled his eyes, looking at a silly boy, put down the things on his shoulders, squatted down and continued to count the accessories. Shao Linyin cleaned and trimmed the door frame that was to be installed soon. This was the last layer, and they could start installing directly after cleaning.

After he finished cleaning, he turned around and prepared to get the door, but his pupils suddenly shocked. He saw that the door leaning against the wall fell down because of its unstable center of gravity, right where the master was squatting!

Without time to think, he rushed over, trying to block the door with one hand and pushing his master to the side with the other. The door was already heavy and coupled with inertia, his arms could not support it at all. The entire weight of the door fell on his shoulders, and he was knocked down suddenly, half lying on the ground.

"Master, my foot..." He held on with a little strength to remind his master who was lying on the side in a daze. The master came to his senses and hurriedly retracted his foot. He could no longer hold on and fell down completely with his whole body relaxed.

The master immediately regained his composure, stood up immediately, and moved the door that was pressing on his back away. His entire back and arms were covered in blood and flesh.

He immediately took out his phone and called 120: "Hello, is this 120? Huamao Shopping Center, next to the No. 1 Middle School..."

Someone tugged at his trouser legs: "Don't...don't go to the hospital..."

"What are you talking about, you silly boy? Save your energy!" The master still called 120.

Seeing Shao Liyin's somewhat distracted consciousness, he felt distressed and angry: "Look, you, I want you to help me block it? I'm an old man with thick skin and flesh, I won't be hurt if it hits me!"

Shao Liyin was confused by the pain for a moment, and with half consciousness, he struggled to grab his master's hand: "Don't go to the hospital, there are no broken bones, just flesh wounds, I can just rest and heal..."

"What nonsense! If you don't treat the injury properly and it gets inflamed, it will be bad."

Shao Liyin was unable to move for a moment, his face paler, he clenched his fists, pursed his lips and stopped talking. It was not until the sound of the ambulance came and he was lifted onto a stretcher that he suddenly woke up and struggled.

"I don't want to go to the hospital! I know my own body. It's not serious. There's no need to go to the hospital!" Shao Liyin struggled and the young nurse couldn't hold him down. The master had never seen Shao Liyin like this. The distance from the mall to the ambulance was only two hundred meters, but he stopped two or three times!

He even sat up from the stretcher, holding onto his master's hand, tears welling in his eyes, filled with fear: "Don't go to the hospital, just buy some disinfectant and anti-inflammatory medicine, Master, trust me..."

He turned to look at the nurse again: "I won't go. Sorry for bothering you to make the trip. We will settle the fees..."

The young nurses looked at each other in bewilderment. Since the patient was unwilling, they had no choice but to take the emergency medicine from the car, deal with it briefly, and leave.

The master looked at Shao Liyin, who was as stubborn as a bull, sighed and helped him up.

After all this trouble, Shao Linyin finally woke up completely. He stood up and saw the teaching building of No. 1 Middle School not far away. He then remembered his family's smile.

He looked like this, and if he smiled, he would probably feel even more distressed. He moved his hands, which felt a little painful: "Master, can you help me pass the phone in my trouser pocket?"

"I'll let you die of pain!" The master glared at him, but still took out his cell phone and handed it to him.

Shao Linyin sent a message.

[Xiao Lai, I have a project out of town recently and will be away for a few days. The time is yet to be determined. Take care of yourself these days. Don't forget the milk and fruit, and don't stay up too late.]

He seemed to vaguely hear a "ding" sound, the sound of Xiaolai's phone. He looked around, but under the dim streetlight, there was nothing. He chuckled softly, probably because he wanted to laugh too much.

After a while, Xiaolai called with a video. Video? Video!!!

He hung up the phone immediately, the phone shaking in his hand and his heart beating fast.

After thinking about it, I typed a reply.

[It’s not very convenient. What’s wrong? Is there something wrong? ]

There was silence on the other end for a while. When Shao Linyin was worried that something really happened and was about to make a call, the phone moved.

【good. 】

He stared at the word "good" for a long time. What did it mean? Was it okay or not?

Finally, he stuffed his phone into his pocket in a sullen manner. "You little bastard, you're really acting so cool." He then looked at his master. "Master, my brother at home will probably be worried. Can you keep me at your place for a few days?"

"What are you talking about taking him in or not? My kid hasn't come back from school yet, so the room is empty anyway. Your mistress is at home and has nothing to do, so she can take care of you." The master helped him up and waved to stop a taxi.

“Thank you, Master!”

"You did this to save me, don't do this again next time!"

The midsummer evening breeze swept away the heat that had scorched the entire day. Shao Linyin got into a taxi, as if he felt something.

He turned around and saw a young man standing next to the clump of landscape trees where they had just left. The distance was too far to see his face, but he was tall and thin, just like his son Xiaolai, but Xiaolai would not appear here.

I sighed and said, "Are students nowadays under too much pressure? They look so thin."

The master also glanced back and said, "He's quite thin, and so is my boy!" After saying that, he looked at him and added, "You are the thinnest. Every day you eat like you're counting grains of rice! It's as if you have a huge grudge against eating!"

Shao Linyin chuckled, stopped talking, and pretended to be asleep.

After a night of rest, he thought he'd feel better, but the next day was the worst. He lay on the bed, grimace in his eyes, and ordered a cake on his phone, addressing their home.

He had thought about that cake for a long time. He put a layer of cherries on it and asked the cake maker to write "16&19 Laughter Forever" on it.

19 is his birthday, 16 is the birthday of the last time he laughed, and "the laughter lasts for a long time" means their first anniversary.

He looked at the picture of the finished product sent by the cake maker and was very satisfied. He smiled and sent a message to Xiaolai.

[Xiaolai, come home early tonight, I have a surprise for you, hehe!]

At eight o'clock in the evening, he received a message from Xiaolai on his mobile phone, which was a photo of an opened cake.

He grinned and replied, "Do you like this cake? It's our first anniversary, happy anniversary, (* ̄3)(ε ̄*)"

There was no reply for a long time, and he thought the other party might be eating cake.

I felt a little disappointed [Why am I on a business trip now? What a pity, I didn’t get to eat the cake, ┭┮﹏┭┮]

The phone moved, and Xiaolai replied, "Where are you on business? I'll order a cake for you."

[No, I want to eat with you.] The eldest young master is extremely difficult to please.

[Okay, when you come back, we'll buy one and make amends.]

[No, you can't just eat cake casually. You have to eat it on specific days, my mother said.] The young master is quite particular.

[Then let’s buy two for your next birthday.]

[That’s a good idea, let’s do it!] The young master was finally happy.

While they were still chatting, the master's wife brought the food into the house. Today, the master's wife made steamed sea bass. He remembered to smile as soon as he took a bite.

Exactly the same as what Xiaolai did.

He took the plate and smiled, "Master's Wife, your fish is really delicious. Not only fish, but all the dishes you cook are also delicious. It would be a great loss to the culinary world if you didn't become a chef."

"I didn't make it..." she said, turning her head away, not accepting the compliment. "It's made by a restaurant my son likes. If you like it, eat more, but don't overeat just because it tastes good, or you'll get a stomachache."

Shao Linyin paused with his chopsticks. This was what Tong Xiaolai always said to him. He looked at his master's wife and thought that his eldest brother at home also had a bad stomach, so he didn't think much about it.

He really loved the food cooked by his master's wife, and she very accurately avoided all the things he was picky about and would not eat, so all three meals a day were his favorites.

To be honest, I didn’t want to leave after staying here, but I felt embarrassed to disturb others all the time. After staying here for about five days, my back was covered with scabs, so I left my master’s house.

But the large purple-red blood scab was still quite creepy to look at, so he did not go home. He stayed on the small bed in the company's duty room for another ten days, asking his master's wife where the restaurant was. His master's wife brought him a lunch box every day.

At first he felt embarrassed, as his master's wife always said that he was injured while saving his master. He couldn't refuse anymore, and he kept having people bring up the matter, which made him feel very embarrassed.

Later he accepted it and waited for feeding every day until the blood scabs fell off before he went home.

He returned home early that day, arriving home before seven o'clock. After a few days of recuperation, he had taken fewer showers as he was always afraid of having a body smell. He thought of taking a shower first when he got home, but he didn't expect Tong Xiaolai to be at home, cooking in the kitchen.

"Xiao Lai? Why are you here so early? Aren't you in evening study?"

Tong Xiao looked at him, his level of surprise no less than his, but then his face darkened again: "You still remember to come back? Why don't you go out for a whole month before coming back?"

He knew Xiaolai was angry, but he was in the wrong and felt guilty, so he had to go over and coax her.

"Xiao Lai~ This is a business trip~ I'll be back soon after I'm done pretending."

"Smile~ Don't be angry~ Is the cake delicious? I specially asked him to put a layer of cherries on it. Last year's cake only had one. It looks like you didn't have enough."

"Smile~..." Coaxing was not enough, so he started shaking her.

"Brother Li..." Tong Xiaolai turned his head to look out the window, his voice choked, "The cake is delicious. But I ate your cake twice..."

Shao Liyin reached out and cupped his face. Looking at the red and watery glow in his eyes, he slowly leaned forward and pressed his lips against those tightly pursed, pink lips. His tongue swept across them once before slowly leaving. A smile filled his eyes and brows: "Now I have tasted it. My cake tastes like smiling lips."
