Lord, Your Wife Is Overpowered Again!

Bai Shimu first saw Gu Jueye on news reports. He was from a prestigious family, exceptionally handsome and elegant. Her first impression of him? "A demon!"

The second time she met Gu ...

Chapter 121: Brother Ye and Lord Jue share a roof, an uneasy night.

Bai Qianmo felt a surge of heat coursing through her body, as if fire was shooting out of her nose.

The man was clearly surprised as well, and stood there stunned for three seconds.

Have you seen enough?

Seeing that the little girl was still staring at him, the man casually tossed the bath towel he was using to dry himself over Bai Qianmo's head.

She then slowly walked to the bedside and got dressed.

Bai Qianmo stood motionless, not daring to pull the towel covering her head. After a while...

Hearing footsteps approaching, Bai Qianmo lifted a corner of her bath towel and looked at Gu Jueye with her large, clear eyes.

He walked towards her, his deep gaze fixed on her without blinking.

Those hands with distinct knuckles were slowly buttoning up his pajamas, exuding an air of asceticism.

Bai Qianmo felt a little uncomfortable under his gaze, and sighed inwardly, "What a devil."

"What did you just see?" The man finished dressing and raised his eyebrows slightly.

"I didn't see anything," Bai Qianmo said with an air of absolute certainty.

What a joke! Even if you saw it, you couldn't admit it yourself.

Gu Jueye glanced at her with a mixture of amusement and disbelief, but didn't delve into the matter further.

We'll have to be completely honest with each other sooner or later, so it's no big deal if the little girl looks at us a few more times.

Her long, seaweed-like hair hung wetly down her back, and her clothes were soaked through.

Gu Jueye reached out and pulled the towel off Bai Qianmo's head, pulling her closer to him and skillfully and gently wiping her long hair.

"Did you need something?"

Bai Qianmo finally regained her senses and remembered why she had come to his room. She handed her phone to him.

Someone called you.

Gu Jueye didn't reach for the phone, but continued to wipe her long hair, using his slender fingers to smooth out the tangled strands.

"Who called?" he asked gently.

"Ms. Qin."

Gu Jueye's eyes darkened slightly. He was afraid that his mother calling at this time wouldn't bring good news.

Picking up his phone, Gu Jueye glanced at Bai Qianmo and said, "There's a hairdryer in the bathroom. Dry your hair and go to sleep."

Bai Qianmo nodded obediently and then walked towards the bathroom.

Gu Jueye walked to the French windows and looked out.

The rain had subsided, but the wind continued to howl like a vengeful ghost descending from the mountains.

The call connected, rang twice, and was answered.

"Why is no one answering my calls? Are you still working in the lab this late?"

"I've told you so many times, work is important, but health is more important. You're still young now, so you don't think staying up late is a big deal, but you'll realize when you get old that many of the health problems you have are left over from when you were young."

Qin Lin spoke for a while, but her son remained silent.

"Are you listening to me? Why is it so noisy on your end?"

Gu Jueye turned his head and glanced into the bathroom, where the buzzing sound of a hairdryer was constantly coming from.

"Why are you calling so late? Is something urgent?"

Seeing that Gu Jueye didn't explain the noise from the other side, Qin Lin changed the subject.

"It's nothing important, it's just that your dad and I miss you. We know you're busy with work, and we don't want to bother you. If you have time tomorrow, please come home."

"I'll go back tomorrow night." She genuinely misses him, and she's even more likely to pressure him into marriage.

"Okay, I'll make your favorite braised beef. You absolutely have to come back!" Qin Lin said with a beaming smile.

Gu Jueye responded and was about to hang up when a loud "bang" came from the bathroom.

Immediately, a burning smell filled the air.

"Ah!" Bai Qianmo exclaimed softly.

Gu Jueye rushed into the bathroom and saw the hairdryer lying on the floor, emitting thick smoke.

Are you alright?

He walked over to Bai Qianmo, pulled her close to him, examined her closely to make sure she wasn't injured, and then went over to unplug the hairdryer.

"The heating element must have burned out."

"Maybe I dropped the hairdryer on the sink and it got wet," Bai Qianmo said, touching her forehead, embarrassed.

"It's good that everyone is alright. I haven't used this hairdryer before. It's easy for it to cause problems if it's left out for too long. Is your hair dry?"

Bai Qianmo nodded: "Yes, it's already dried."

Gu Jueye suddenly remembered something, glanced at the phone screen, and then raised the phone to say to the other end, "Mom, it's too late, you should get some rest. Let's talk about it when we meet tomorrow."

Bai Qianmo was suddenly stunned.

Is Gu Jueye on the phone?

So, does that mean the other party heard their conversation?

In the dead of night, alone with a man, she was still drying her hair in someone else's bathroom.

Anyone with a normal mind would have misunderstood, right?

Gu Jia

Qin Lin sat on the edge of the bed, holding her phone in shock for a long time before suddenly getting up and walking to the other side of the bed.

"Honey, wake up!"

Gu Zhizhou was fast asleep when Qin Lin shook him awake. He groggily opened his eyes, glanced out the window, and found that it was still pitch black.

"Are you having insomnia again, staying up so late at night?"

Qin Lin suffers from severe insomnia and has been taking medication and exercising every day for the past year, so her condition has basically improved.

"No, I'm perfectly fine. I just had a phone call with A-Ye, and you know what I found out?"

Gu Zhizhou sat up, leaned against the headboard, and glanced at his phone.

"Why are you calling him so late at night, past 2 a.m.?"
