A KTV in Kyoto.

Duan Ye booked a private room, prepared a romantic setting and a ring; today was a very important day for him.

He wanted to formally confess his feelings to the person he had liked for many years.

When Nanxing arrived, Duan Ye's hands were trembling, but she just stood there, smiling quietly as she looked at him.

Lin Feng patted him on the shoulder: "Go ahead, whether you stick your neck out or not, you'll get stabbed anyway."

Liu Jie: "Yes, it was really difficult to get them to come out."

So Duan Ye straightened his chest and went away. Lin Feng looked at him with a complicated expression, but he was also helpless. Over the years, they, as his brothers, had seen almost everything about Duan Ye's feelings for Nan Xing.

Finally, he stopped in front of Nanxing, holding a bouquet of red roses and a ring in a gift box.

"Nanxing, I know that today might be a little unexpected for you..." Duan Ye was nervous. Even though this wasn't the first time he had expressed his feelings to Nanxing, it was a very formal one.

"I've been preparing for this confession for a long time. Actually... I even wrote a draft, but when it came to this moment, my mind went completely blank. Nanxing, back in high school you said we were still young and our future was important."

"Okay, I'll listen to you."

"When we entered university, you said everything was still unstable, and I listened to you. Now, we're both sophomores, and what you said before doesn't exist anymore, but I still like you."

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

After Duan Ye finished speaking, he looked at Nan Xing with some trepidation.

Nanxing was still smiling, her eyes gentle. Duan Ye almost drowned in her eyes. Just as he tried to kneel down on one knee, Nanxing helped him up.

She said, "A-Ye, you are the best person to me in this world besides my parents."

"But I have always regarded you as my only confidant and best friend in this life."

"Let's just be each other's best friends, that way we'll never be apart, isn't that good?"

Even her refusal was so gentle.

Duan Ye's heart turned cold, but Nan Xing stepped forward and hugged him: "A Ye, you deserve a very, very good girl. You are also the most important person to me, but I can't be with you as your girlfriend."

"Keep the ring for someone important, not for me."

Duan Ye didn't remember how he got out of that private room, but when he came to his senses, Lin Feng and Liu Jie had already ordered quite a lot of drinks, and the surrounding environment was very noisy.

Lin Feng: "Come on, drink! Duan Ye, listen to your brother, after tonight, we'll let go of Nanxing."

Liu Jie: "Lin Feng is right. There's nothing wrong with being friends."

Ye Nuan walked over with the wine in her hand: "Hello, is this the wine you ordered?"

Lin Feng quickly stood up and took it: "Yes, thank you."

Ye Nuan shook her head: "You're welcome." But her gaze fell on the dejected Duan Ye, and seeing him so sad, she couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness in her heart.

But she stepped back and continued working.

Duan Ye didn't say anything, but drank one cup after another with the two brothers by his side.

A short while later, an argument broke out at the next table.

"What's with your high and mighty attitude? You're just a waiter. We're just asking you to have a couple of drinks with us, and you're not happy about it?"

Ye Nuan was a little scared: "Sir, I...I don't drink alcohol."

"No? Working in a place like this, you can't not drink? Are you kidding me?!"

The man stood up and walked towards Ye Nuan. Ye Nuan kept backing away. People came and went around her, but no one helped her. Most of them were just watching the show.

Just as the man was about to reach out and grab Ye Nuan, she bumped into someone's chest. Startled, she quickly turned around and saw a familiar face.

At school, she saw his back the most. This was the first time they had been so close.

Duan Ye reached out and held her shoulders, pulling her behind him, then looked at the man: "What do you want to do?"

The man's face darkened, and he was about to unleash a torrent of curses when he saw Lin Feng and Liu Jie approaching. He immediately wilted: "Who are you? It's just a drink, what are you pretending to be so high and mighty for?"

And so, the man sat back down, grumbling and cursing.

Duan Ye sobered up a bit and turned to Ye Nuan: "It's not safe for a girl to work alone in these places. Find another job..."

Ye Nuan's face was a little red, but it wasn't very clear because of the lighting.

She was wearing a waitress's uniform, but had two small braids, and her cheeks were a little chubby, making her look quite cute when she smiled.

Just as Duan Ye was about to leave, Ye Nuan smiled and said, "I've seen you at school before. Thank you, senior."

Ye Nuan extended her hand and looked at him with a smile.

Liu Jie: "You're actually a junior from our school, doing part-time work?"

Ye Nuan nodded somewhat shyly, but still extended her hand. Duan Ye, not wanting to offend her, reached out and shook her hand.

Ye Nuan's heart pounded like thunder. She had finally... finally had a little bit of physical intimacy with him.

Duan Ye quickly withdrew his hand, and the brothers sat down again.

Unexpectedly, a short while later, two people appeared in front of them: Nanxing and that...waiter.

Lin Feng and Liu Jie both looked uneasy. They didn't know why Nan Xing had come here, but they had a bad feeling about it.

Nanxing saw Duan Ye staring at her and spoke up directly: "Xiao Ye, this is Ye Nuan, a freshman at our school. She has liked you for a long time and has been asking me to introduce you two."
