A girl named Lu Yin enters a system out of despair. A boy named Lan Yi is too different two years before and two years after; they broke up a long time ago. Lu Yin can only return to real life when...
In my dream
Lu Yin curled up on her bed in her apartment, the rain pouring down outside the window, thunder roaring. She woke with a start, her pajamas soaked with cold sweat. Two years ago, Lan Yi was her sunshine, cooking porridge for her in the early morning and staying up late with her to finish projects; but two years later, he had become cold and distant, not even bothering to reply to her messages. On the day they broke up, his words as he turned away, "We can't go back," pierced her heart like a knife. She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face, and fell asleep again.
In her dream, she fell into a pure white space, surrounded by flowing data streams, as dazzling as a galaxy. "Welcome to the 'Emotional Repair System,' host Lu Yin," the mechanical voice said coldly. "Your emotional trauma triggered a time-travel mechanism. You need to complete a mission to return to reality." She froze, her fingertips tracing Lan Yi's data on the light screen—emotional value 3%, the key event pointing to a car accident two years ago.
"Why him?" she asked softly. The system remained silent: "The host's choice is generated by the system based on deep emotional mapping. Perhaps, subconsciously, you still want to untangle his knot." Lu Yin recalled Lan Yi's past gentleness and clenched her fist: "I accept the mission."
Lu Yin slept soundly in the system space, data flowing around her like a gentle galaxy. She dreamt that she reunited with Lan Yi in a sea of flowers, sunlight bathing them both. He knelt on one knee, holding a ring in his hand, his voice gentle yet firm: "Lu Yin, I missed you two years ago; now, I want to spend my whole life making up for it." She smiled and nodded, extending her hand: "I do." The scene in the dream was so real, even the warmth of Lan Yi's palm seemed to emanate from within the dream.
Suddenly, a system notification sounded: "Host Lu Yin, emotional fluctuations detected, triggering the 'Dream Rewind' function." Lu Yin opened her eyes and found herself still floating in a pure white space, but the scenes from her dream were deeply imprinted in her mind.
System notification: "Lan Yi is in a low mood, triggering 'memory rewind'." Lu Yin reset the scene to the First Encounter Cafe. She ordered a caramel macchiato and gently touched the old scar on the inside of Lan Yi's wrist—a mark left by the car accident.
"You...you still remember this." Lan Yi's pupils contracted slightly, and his Adam's apple bobbed. A system notification sounded: "Emotional Value +15%." A long-lost tenderness flashed in his eyes, like a crack appearing on a frozen lake. Lu Yin's heart raced. She asked softly, "Two years ago, why did you become like this?"
Lan Yi was silent for a moment, then lowered his head to avoid her gaze: "Some things, saying too much will only make you more upset." Lu Yin suddenly grasped his hand: "Lan Yi, I'm back. This time, I won't leave you alone again." Lan Yi's body trembled slightly, the warmth from his fingertips seeping through his palm like a ray of warm sunshine in winter. He looked up at her, a hint of struggle in his eyes: "Lu Yin, I... I've actually been dreaming about us making up."
"This must be a dream," Lu Yin thought, struggling. She wanted to improve, no matter what, because this situation terrified her. But she knew she was dreaming, so she struggled without fear. Knowing it was a dream, she decided to face reality and then, once she woke up, she would start her conquest.
