Love Rival

Liu Yuwei witnessed her crush Jin Lang's entire first love breakup process during high school; coincidentally, the female lead was her deskmate. After three years of being friends, she gathered...

19 What do you like about him?

19 What do you like about him?

After safely delivering Song Miao to her destination, Jin Lang leaned back in his chair, his vision filled with images of people rubbing shoulders, hugging waists, and whispering in her ear. His brain, once activated, went into automatic search mode. The man in the down jacket in the night sky reappeared in the image of the man in the white suit at the dinner party, their affectionate gestures flowing like a copy and paste, except the person in his arms had changed to Liu Yuwei. His fists clenched again, veins bulging on the backs of his hands, and anger surged like a black tide, drowning his rationality. Even if they were just ordinary high school classmates, knowing she had met the wrong person, he shouldn't have just stood by and watched. "Lao Zhang, let's go to Wangjiang Xinyuan." The words were resounding, as if he had made a great decision. As the car drove through the night, the female voice of the navigation phone was interrupted by a ringing phone. The driver answered and whispered, "Dear, Dad's still at work. I'll call you later!" Jin Lang suddenly thought of his daughter, whom he had met twice before. With her chubby face and round eyes, she didn't really look like Liu Yuwei. As the wind rustled outside, the restlessness within him gradually subsided. Rage and jealousy vanished like a wisp of smoke, leaving behind only a deep sense of melancholy. Some say the wise never fall in love. But it's not that the wise don't love; it's that they realize, in the moment of loss, that true love has nothing to do with possession. Perhaps only in literature do people sacrifice themselves for their loved ones. For ordinary people, love and possessiveness are often sold together on the shelf. Jin Lang considers himself less noble than that, merely ordinary, and so he refuses to let Liu Yuwei become nothing more than a final dream in his heart. The black commercial vehicle turned into a side street. The already narrow road was cluttered with cars from older residential complexes with nowhere to park. A U-turning taxi ahead blocked the road. Looking out, Jin Lang spotted a red Cayenne waiting on the opposite side. Watching Ren Yiming, in the driver's seat, slowly drive past the tan window, he suddenly felt like a golden opportunity. … After seeing Ren Yiming off, Liu Yuwei changed into pajamas and went to the bathroom, where she expertly removed her contact lenses and placed them in a small, round container. She habitually put her framed glasses aside, ready to change into them after washing up. When you're young, everyone wants to show their best side to the person they like. Even if they know their friend likes Jin Lang, they still can't help but make some futile efforts. Liu Yuwei envied Song Miao's deer-like eyes the most, so she secretly got contact lenses. At first, she would cry every day and it took a lot of effort to put them on. After Song Miao and Jin Lang got together, she felt there was no need to add unnecessary trouble to herself. Later, when she was in college, Jin Lang once...

After safely delivering Song Miao to his destination, Jin Lang leaned back in his chair, his eyes filled with images of people rubbing shoulders, hugging waists, and whispering in his ears. Once his brain was activated, it began to enter automatic search mode.

The man in the down jacket in the night and the man in the white suit at the dinner party overlapped again, and their intimate movements were as smooth as copy and paste, except that the person in his arms was replaced by Liu Yuwei.

Her fists clenched again, the veins on the backs of her hands bulging, and anger surged like a black tide, drowning her rationality. Even if they were just ordinary high school classmates, knowing that she had met the wrong person, she shouldn't have just stood by and watched.

"Lao Zhang, let's go to Wangjiang Xinyuan." He said it in a resounding voice, as if he had made a great decision.

The car was driving in the night, and the female voice of the navigation phone was interrupted by the ringing of the phone. The driver picked up the phone and whispered, "Dear, Dad is still at work. I'll call you later!"

For no reason, Jin Lang thought of her daughter, whom he had met twice before. She had a chubby face and round eyes, and actually didn't look much like Liu Yuwei.

Along with the sound of the wind outside the window, the restlessness in my heart gradually subsided, and the anger and jealousy turned into a wisp of smoke and quietly dissipated, leaving only a heart full of melancholy.

Some say that the wise do not fall in love. But it is not that the wise do not love, but that they realize after losing that true love has nothing to do with possession.

Perhaps only in literature can one find someone sacrificing themselves for their loved one. For ordinary people, love and possessiveness are often sold together on the shelf.

Jin Lang thinks he is not that noble, just an ordinary person, so he is unwilling to let Liu Yuwei become the last dream in the depths of his heart.

The black commercial vehicle turned into a side street. The already narrow road was filled with cars from older residential complexes that had nowhere to park. A taxi turning around ahead blocked the road. Jin Lang looked out and spotted a red Cayenne waiting to pass on the other side.

Watching Ren Yiming in the driver's seat slowly driving past the brown car window, he suddenly felt that this was a great opportunity.

After seeing Ren Yiming off, Liu Yuwei changed into her pajamas and went into the bathroom. She expertly removed her contact lenses and placed them in a small round box. As usual, she set her framed glasses aside, ready to wash and change.

When we were young, everyone wanted to show their best side in front of the person they liked. Even if they knew that their best friend liked Jin Lang, they still couldn't help but make some useless efforts.

Liu Yuwei envied Song Miao's deer-like eyes the most, so she secretly got contact lenses. At first, she would cry every day and it took a lot of effort to put them on properly. After Song Miao and Jin Lang got together, she felt that there was no need to add unnecessary trouble to herself.

Later, when he was in college, Jin Lang accidentally said, "Actually, you look pretty good without glasses." Liu Yuwei then worked hard to practice and adapt to coexisting with contact lenses.

The electric toothbrush vibrated in my mouth and there was a knock on the door.

Liu Yuwei spat out the foam in his mouth, wondering why someone else came at this time. It was probably because Ren Yiming had lost something again.

After simply rinsing his mouth, the "dong dong dong" sound came again, as if the person at the door was getting impatient.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Liu Yuwei shouted loudly twice and walked to the entrance in two steps.

Before opening the door, she glanced at the dressing mirror and found a streak of white on the corner of her mouth. She rolled up her sleeves to wipe it off and took off the cat ear headband on her head.

The voice-activated lights in the hallway dimmed the moment Liu Yuwei opened the door. Without her glasses, she could only see the outline. She said with a hint of sarcasm, "Master, you left something behind again this time. Next time, just leave you here by yourself!"

The elevator door opened, a family of three walked out, the naughty boy screamed "Ah", and the white light bulb lit up again.

Liu Yuwei narrowed his eyes and saw who was coming. His tone dropped a few degrees instantly. "Why are you here?"

Jin Lang didn't answer, but looked at her with cold eyes and suppressed anger.

The draft blew through Liu Yuwei's thin silk pajamas. She saw that Jin Lang was not wearing a hat and mask as usual, and was standing "naked" at the door a few steps away from the elevator.

Liu Yuwei's residential complex is an old-style building with more than a dozen households on each floor sharing three elevators. Thinking of the overwhelming discussions and speculations on Weibo, he hesitated for a moment and decided to let Jin Lang come in to talk.

"Come in first." She moved aside slightly to avoid looking him in the eye.

Jin Lang stood at the junction of the entrance and the living room, his eyes swept across the sofa and fell on the mouse doll with a label. A pair of rabbit ears were revealed in the tilted paper bag next to it. It looked like something a child would like.

Liu Yuwei leaned against the porch and said lightly, "It's so late, what do you want to see me for?"

He scanned her body with his eyes, looking at her with a half-smile.

"Liu Yuwei, why are you with him? What do you like about him?"

She was stunned for a moment, her brain working quickly, and she guessed his anchor point - Ren Yiming.

Before he could speak, he heard him asking and answering himself, "Is it because he has a good figure and is handsome? Or maybe he's from a wealthy family?"

Listening to his words, Liu Yuwei was surprised. They had just met less than an hour ago, and now he knew Ren Yiming's identity. His eyes became even colder.

The man sneered and said slowly, "Or... is he good in bed?"

Jin Lang originally wanted to talk to her calmly, but Liu Yuwei's change of attitude was like a thorn in his heart, making him unable to control himself and speak out the dirty fantasies he was thinking.

Liu Yuwei caught a hint of contempt and mockery in Jin Lang's eyes, and anger surged from the bottom of his heart, "Enough!"

She took a deep breath and said stiffly, "You came to my house in the middle of the night just to humiliate me?"

"Who I'm with now has nothing to do with you."

Seeing her anger, Jin Lang could no longer hold back and directly told her his real purpose.

"Do you know what he's like out there? Ren Yiming is not a man worthy of your lifelong trust!"

"He's not, are you?"

Liu Yuwei blurted out the words without thinking and immediately regretted it.

Jin Lang seemed to quickly catch the loophole in her words and said, "Leave him, okay?"

The breath squeezed out of his lungs sounded like a command and a plea, and every word hit Liu Yuwei's heart hard.

"Leave him, and then, be with you?"

She raised her chin slightly, looked up and questioned with a hint of sarcasm. Her eyes were sharp, piercing straight into Jin Lang's heart.

When he heard the word "together", a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, as fleeting as a shooting star in the night sky, but he quickly realized that the other party was not sincere.

Seeing that he refused to answer, Liu Yuwei became more determined and sneered, "Jin Lang, put away your saintly heart. I don't need you to save me."

"If you want to be a lovestruck person, you've picked the wrong person. It's been eight years, and we've already become strangers."

She deliberately emphasized the word "stranger", and her intention to draw a clear line between them was obvious.

"Stranger?" Jin Lang was once again annoyed by her cold tone.

"Would you kiss a stranger?" He raised his voice a few degrees, his eyes fixed on Liu Yuwei, as if trying to find the answer from her face.

"What do you mean?" Liu Yuwei didn't understand what he was saying, his dark eyes full of inquiry.

Jin Lang took a step forward and suddenly grabbed her. Liu Yuwei staggered and almost fell down due to the unexpected force.

He turned around and pushed her against the door, his two strong arms supporting her on both sides of her body, trapping her in the small space.

Liu Yuwei was forced to stare at the familiar yet unfamiliar face in front of him. The fine hair was scattered messily between his eyebrows, making his deep eyes look even darker.

The two of them were so close that she could see every subtle expression on his face, and the hot smell of alcohol hit her face.

"Let me go!" Liu Yuwei tried to push him away, but her wrist was held tightly by Jin Lang, and her strength was like that of a trapped beast.

When she turned her head, she caught a glimpse of several red rashes on the other person's neck.

"Don't you remember anything?"

Jin Lang moved closer, his body pressed tightly against Liu Yuwei, and both of them could feel each other's violent heartbeats.

"Then I'll help you recall it today!"

With his palm clamped around her slender neck, his lips came over without warning, sealing the words Liu Yuwei was about to say.

She was pressed down defenselessly. There was no tenderness in this kiss, only a strong possessiveness and an almost crazy impulse.

He ravaged her lips fiercely and pried open her teeth roughly with his tongue, as if he wanted to vent all the repression, desire and anger of the past few days.

Liu Yuwei felt his anger, his desire, and the power that almost crushed her.

Her body couldn't help but tremble, and complex emotions kept interweaving - anger, grievance, and some kind of indescribable excitement.

She tried to push him away again, but the man held her in his arms like an iron clamp. His kiss became deeper and more urgent, and the lack of oxygen also made Liu Yuwei's brain gradually stop thinking.

After a moment, Jin Lang suddenly stood up and let her go.

Seeing traces of a passionate kiss on the corners of Liu Yuwei's mouth, he raised the tone of his voice slightly, ambiguous and tender, "How about it, do you remember it?"

The air in the room seemed to be on fire, so hot and suffocating.

Liu Yuwei only felt that his chest was tightly grasped and squeezed by an invisible big hand, like a goldfish being fished out of the water, struggling and gasping for breath on the dry ground.

Seeing her still lost in thought, her eyes unfocused and her mind lost in such a situation, Jin Lang was furious. He suddenly bent down and, with a quick and decisive movement, directly picked up Liu Yuwei horizontally.

He walked into the dark bedroom with ease and mercilessly threw the person onto the bed with such force that it seemed as if he could create a deep crater in the bed.

"Jin Lang, what are you going to do!" Liu Yuwei was startled back to his senses, and subconsciously reached behind him with his hands, trying to support himself.

But unexpectedly, just as he stood up, Jin Lang suddenly came forward with an irresistible look.

"Have you forgotten what you did to me?" His eyes were so hot that they seemed to melt the ice cube of Liu Yuwei.

Jin Lang grabbed one of her hands and imitated what she did that day, his movements were gentle yet somewhat domineering.

Starting from the forehead, slowly stroke across the eyes and eyelashes, gently stroking along the bridge of the nose, and finally stopping at the lips that were wet from the kiss.

Liu Yuwei's body trembled violently, as if struck by an electric current. This familiar movement seemed to have awakened fragments of his memory, and the fog in his mind gradually dissipated, returning to clarity.

Her expression turned slightly red, and two blushes appeared on her cheeks. It turned out that everything that happened that night was not a dream.

None of Liu Yuwei's subtle expressions and reactions escaped Jin Lang's eyes.

He narrowed his eyes, like a lazy yet dangerous leopard, and said with great satisfaction, "You remember?"

Then he lowered his head and left a light kiss on the corner of her lips, like a butterfly touching a flower, with a hint of tenderness and temptation.

I'm working overtime at the office today, so I'm posting this before I start work to get some things off my mind (my backlog is getting smaller and smaller, and I'm feeling the pressure). The writing part is finally here, and the next chapter is officially racing (roar!)
