"Waaah," in the corner of the yard, Fu Man'er sat on a small stone, her neck stiff as she sobbed softly.

Tears streamed down her little face, but her eyes remained fixed straight ahead.

"No, don't cry." Xu Yi didn't mind that her face was dirty. He used his sleeve to wipe away her tears. There were still teardrops hanging on her long eyelashes, which was really heartbreaking to see.

"Man'er," Liu Fang said earnestly while wiping her face, "it's dangerous by the well. You must never go to the well again. What if you fall in?"

Fu Man'er was about to say that it wasn't dangerous, but when she looked up, she saw the serious expressions on the faces of the Xu family mother and son, so she had to give up.

"Okay, danger, danger," the little boy nodded heavily, seemingly having truly taken Liu Fang's words to heart. "Mom, I understand."

Hearing this, Liu Fang grinned and said, "Man'er, I'm not your mother. Call me auntie."

It sounds comforting; kids may not understand, but adults can't be ignorant.
