When Chen Xiaoru woke up, she was surrounded by darkness and felt someone hugging her tightly. She knew who it was without even thinking. Without a second thought, she raised her foot and delivered a flying kick.

With a "bang", Zhou Yuxuan was kicked off the bed without any preparation and fell heavily to the ground.

"Ouch!"

Zhou Yuxuan cried out in pain, rubbed his butt, and climbed up from the ground. He looked at the person on the bed with a wronged look on his face and said, "Xiao Ru, you...what are you doing? You are murdering your husband!"

"Who...who murdered her husband! You...you didn't!"

Chen Xiaoru felt a little guilty when he suddenly called her "husband," but she still managed to retort, "Besides, who allowed you to sleep in my bed?"

"Wife, you...you can't just eat it and deny it like this!"

Zhou Yuxuan looked at her pitifully, his tone sounding aggrieved.

"Who is your wife? Besides, didn't I let you sleep with me later? So we're even!"

Chen Xiaoru said this confidently, but her eyes were a little evasive.

When she thought of the madness of last night, she was furious. This guy, who looked weak and frail, was like a tireless beast when he did that thing, and he almost broke her apart.

She was holding a grudge in her heart, and she got angry whenever she saw Zhou Yuxuan. She secretly vowed that she would find an opportunity to "retaliate" in the future.

"Wife, how can this be the same?" Zhou Yuxuan looked at her pitifully, his tone full of grievance.

"How is it different? Hurry up and cook, I'm almost starving." Chen Xiaoru ordered him bluntly, with a hint of impatience in her tone.

When Zhou Yuxuan heard this, he immediately perked up, got up from the ground, and asked flatteringly: "Wife, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you right away."

Chen Xiaoru thought for a moment and said, "I want to eat noodles. Go cook some!"

"Okay, wife, wait for me, I'll be there soon." Zhou Yuxuan responded, ran out of the room happily and went straight to the kitchen.

After Chen Xiaoru saw him leave, she slowly sat up and gently rubbed her aching waist. She picked up her phone, checked the time, and said to herself:

"It's already 11 o'clock at night. I slept for a long time."

She got up and went to the bathroom to wash up. After washing up, she walked out of the bedroom and saw Zhou Yuxuan busy cooking noodles in the kitchen.

Chen Xiaoru walked to the kitchen door, leaned lazily against the door frame, folded her arms across her chest, and said:

"Zhou Yuxuan, how about we go to the water plant later?"

"Why do you suddenly want to go there at night?"

Zhou Yuxuan asked without turning his head while cooking noodles, with a hint of doubt in his tone.

"I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd go out for a walk and take a look at the situation over there."

Chen Xiaoru explained, with a hint of laziness and anticipation in her voice.

Chen Xiaoru couldn't wait to take the bowl of noodles. The aroma filled her nose. She took a deep breath and said with satisfaction:

"It smells so good! It's quite delicious. Zhou Yuxuan, you have good cooking skills." She walked to the dining table with the bowl, sat down, picked up the chopsticks and started eating in big mouthfuls.

Zhou Yuxuan looked at her wolfing down the food, smiled indulgently, served himself a bowl of noodles, sat opposite her and ate with her.

"Eat slowly, be careful not to choke." He reminded gently.

"Yeah." Chen Xiaoru responded vaguely with her mouth full of noodles, but she did not forget to look up and smile sweetly at him.

A few minutes later, Chen Xiaoru put down her bowl and chopsticks contentedly, touched her round belly, and burped. "Ah, it feels so good to be full."

Zhou Yuxuan also finished his noodles. He stood up to clear the bowl and chopsticks and said, "Shall we set off now?"

"Okay!" Chen Xiaoru stood up excitedly, eager to try.

Zhou Yuxuan picked up the metal pipe, and the two of them walked out of the house together. The night air was slightly cool, with a hint of earth. Moonlight sprinkled on the ground, illuminating the road ahead.

"Do you think there will be a lot of zombies at the water plant?" Chen Xiaoru asked as she walked, with a hint of curiosity and anticipation in her voice.

"I don't know. You'll know when you get there." Zhou Yuxuan clenched the metal pipe in his hand and observed the surrounding environment vigilantly.

The two walked along the road towards the water plant. The night was quiet and they could occasionally hear the low growls of zombies in the distance.

The two drove to their destination. Chen Xiaoru took out a frying pan from the space, held it in her hand, and secretly asked the system: "System, are there any zombies near the water plant?"

"No, this place is quite remote. There were a few here before, but they have left." The mechanical voice of the system sounded in her mind.

"Wife, wife?" Zhou Yuxuan couldn't help but call out softly when he saw Chen Xiaoru was stunned after taking out the frying pan.

"Um! Ah! Oh! What's the matter?" Chen Xiaoru suddenly came back to her senses, her eyes still a little confused.

"It's okay, I just saw you were in a daze. What were you thinking about?" Zhou Yuxuan asked with concern.

"I was wondering if there were any zombies in there!" Chen Xiaoru responded casually. She couldn't say that she was talking to the system.

"I don't know either. Let's get off the car and take a look!" Zhou Yuxuan suggested with a hint of caution in his tone.

"Okay, let's go!" Chen Xiaoru responded decisively, pushed open the car door and jumped out first.

The two got out of the car and looked around vigilantly in the dim moonlight.

"This water plant is so eerily quiet..." Zhou Yuxuan lowered his voice and said to Chen Xiaoru beside him.

"Well, something is indeed wrong. Let's be careful." Chen Xiaoru nodded and tightened the flashlight in her hand.
