"Doctor, please look," Chen Xiaoru pointed at the hot pot and said sincerely, "Could you help me check the food in this pot to see which one is poisoned?"

The doctor nodded and walked over to the hot pot. He first carefully observed the various ingredients in the pot, then tested them one by one with a silver needle.

Zhou Si stood beside Chen Xiaoru, holding her hand tightly, giving her silent support. He knew that Chen Xiaoru must be feeling very uncomfortable at the moment, having to face the pressure of finding out the truth and being wary of Li Yuanwai's hidden evildoings.

The doctor examined each patient one by one, his expression focused and serious. As time passed, the atmosphere became increasingly solemn.

Suddenly, the doctor stopped and his eyes fell on a piece of tofu in the pot.

"This piece of tofu..." The doctor picked up a silver needle and gently scraped it on the tofu. A faint hint of black appeared at the tip of the silver needle.

Chen Xiaoru and Zhou Si's hearts instantly rose to their throats.

"This tofu is poisonous!" said the doctor in a deep voice.

Chen Xiaoru didn't find out that it was tofu, and there was indeed no other thing that could be used to poison her.

"Thank you, doctor."

It would be easier if we knew what was poisoned.

Seeing that nothing was wrong, the doctor took his medicine box and said goodbye. Zhou Si saw the doctor out.

After Zhou Si sent the doctor back, Chen Xiaoru was still standing in front of the hot pot, staring at the piece of tofu that was found to be poisonous, with a frown on her face.

"Xiaoru, don't worry. Now at least we know what's wrong." Zhou Si walked to her, gently put his arm around her shoulders and comforted her.

Chen Xiaoru nodded, took a deep breath, and forced herself to calm down. "Zhou Si, who could have poisoned me? Was it Mr. Li? But why would he do that?"

Zhou Si's eyes glared, and he said in a deep voice, "Besides him, I can't think of anyone else who would do this. He's been eyeing our hot pot restaurant covetously, trying every possible way to bring us down."

"But... we have no direct evidence to prove that he did it." Chen Xiaoru was a little frustrated.

Zhou Si held her hand tightly, his eyes firm. "If there's no direct evidence, we'll go find it! This tofu is absolutely the key!" He paused, a gleam in his eyes. "Xiao Ru, do you remember who sent this batch of tofu?"

Chen Xiaoru was stunned for a moment, then recalled, "It was... Wang Ergou from Li Ji Tofu Shop who delivered it. He delivers it every day, rain or shine."

Zhou Si nodded: "Yes, it's him! Let's go find him!"

The two of them set off immediately and headed for Li Ji Tofu Shop.

When they arrived at the tofu shop, they saw Wang Ergou busy grinding tofu. When he saw Chen Xiaoru and Zhou Si, a trace of panic flashed across his face, but he quickly calmed down.

"Boss Chen, Mr. Zhou, why are you here?" Wang Ergou put down the work in his hands, wiped his hands, and came forward.

Chen Xiaoru got straight to the point and asked, "Wang Ergou, the tofu you delivered today was poisoned. Do you know what happened?"

Wang Ergou's face changed, and he waved his hands repeatedly: "Boss Chen, this...how is this possible? My tofu is made with the best soybeans, there is absolutely no way it can be poisonous!"

Zhou Si stared at him coldly: "Wang Ergou, you'd better tell the truth, otherwise, we will report you to the police!"

Wang Ergou's eyes flickered, and sweat began to form on his forehead. He stammered, "I...I really don't know! I'm just a tofu deliveryman. I don't know anything else!"

Seeing him like this, Chen Xiaoru was even more certain that something was wrong with him. She said sternly, "Wang Ergou, think about it again. Did you encounter any strange people or encounter any strange things when you were delivering tofu today?"

Wang Ergou lowered his head, not daring to look Chen Xiaoru in the eye. He hesitated for a long time before finally speaking, "Today... this morning, when I was delivering tofu to your store, I met... met Mr. Li."

Chen Xiaoru and Zhou Si looked at each other, and it was indeed him!

"What did Mr. Li say to you?" Zhou Si asked.

Wang Ergou's voice became increasingly quiet: "Mr. Li... Mr. Li gave me a package and asked me to... to put it in the tofu..."

"Where is that package?" Chen Xiaoru asked anxiously.

Wang Ergou pointed to a corner of the tofu shop and said, "I... I hid it there..."

Zhou Si immediately walked over and found a small package wrapped in oil paper where Wang Ergou pointed. He opened it and saw some white powder inside.

"Is this the poison that Mr. Li gave you?" Zhou Si asked coldly.

Wang Ergou fell to his knees and cried, "Boss Chen, Master Zhou, I was wrong! I was bewildered and did this! Please, forgive me!"

Chen Xiaoru looked at Wang Ergou crying bitterly, feeling mixed emotions. She knew that Wang Ergou was just a nobody and the real mastermind behind the incident was Li Yuanwai.

"Wang Ergou, tell us everything you know, and we can consider not reporting it to the police." Zhou Si said.

Wang Ergou nodded quickly and told the whole story of how Li Yuanwai had instructed him to poison the food.

After listening to Wang Ergou's confession, Chen Xiaoru and Zhou Si had a clue in their minds. They took Wang Ergou and the packet of poison and headed straight to Li Yuanwai's residence.

When they arrived at Mr. Li's house, after the servant informed him, Mr. Li walked out slowly.

"Hey, isn't this Boss Chen and Mr. Zhou? What brings you here?" Mr. Li said with a smile, looking completely unaware.

Chen Xiaoru looked at him coldly: "Mr. Li, we came here to ask you to explain what is going on with the poison in this tofu?"
