The girl's father?

Upon hearing the man's words, Qinghe immediately stopped moving. She had never heard of the girl's parents before, and the girl never mentioned them either.

Is this man really the girl's father? Qinghe was at a loss for what to do. What if he was lying?

She was a little hesitant, afraid that the man was a liar, but also afraid that he was telling the truth.

He could only say, "Wait here for a moment, I'll go and call our girl down."

Bai Dalin frowned and said unhappily, "I'm her father, and you actually want me to wait for her? Don't you know how to do your job? Tell me where she is, and I'll go find her!"

As he spoke, Bai Dalin walked past Qinghe again, but Qinghe remained steadfastly blocking his way.

"I'm telling you, if you keep blocking my way, I'm going to beat you up!" Bai Dalin said angrily, pointing at Qinghe.

"How could I dare to stop you?" Qinghe wasn't afraid of him at all. Seeing that he was angry, he immediately curtsied and gave a standard apology. "You are the biological father of our girl. I respect you more than enough. As the saying goes, it's only the son who comes to see the father, and there's absolutely no reason for the father to go to see the son. Brothers, don't you agree?"

Second floor.

Bai Nuo was tidying up the shelves when she heard Qinghe's words and immediately laughed, "He is my father, that's true, but we have long since severed ties. Let's just pretend we're acquaintances."

Qinghe nodded. "Then what should I do?" Just as she had thought, the girl and this so-called biological father were not close at all.

"Just find an excuse to send him away. Also, Second Master is on the third floor. Go and tell him not to come downstairs yet. I, his own father, didn't see us get engaged. If Second Master goes down and sees a man here, who knows what he'll say about us."

It wasn't that she was pessimistic about Bai Dalin, but rather that Bai Dalin was just that kind of person; wherever he went, nothing good ever came of it.

While adjusting the spacing between each shelf, Bai Nuo asked Qinghe, "Have the delivery people arrived?"

"Yes, they're all here," Qinghe said, following Bai Nuo. "Right now, they're all on the first floor, blocking that person for me."

Bai Nuo smiled slightly; she could easily imagine Bai Dalin's furious expression at that moment.

"You go ahead, leave this to me. Get everything done as soon as possible."

"Okay," Qinghe agreed with a smile, turned around and walked out. She went up to the third floor first and told Hu Mingmei what Bai Nuo had said.

Hu Mingmei was setting the table for Bai Nuo when she heard this, she paused for a moment, and then said, "Okay, I understand." Then she continued working.

Seeing his expression, Qinghe was used to it. She quickly walked downstairs and said to Bai Dalin, who was indeed furious, "Sir, I'm really sorry, our young lady is not here. She must have gone out. I'm sorry to trouble you to go home and wait for her."

Bai Dalin knew perfectly well that she had tricked him. He was already angry, and now hearing this made him even angrier. "Didn't you just say she was still here?"

"I was indeed there an hour ago, but I probably left through the back door and didn't see it. I'm so sorry for the misunderstanding. You know, our Duobao Pavilion has been involved in some disputes these past few days, so the manager has been extremely busy!"
