Female Protagonist Synopsis: Bai Nuo, a seasoned single woman from the 21st century, was strutting towards the path of a "scumbag woman" after buying a house and a car. Suddenly, she became...
Without looking at Bai Dalin's hesitant expression, he stood up, said "Excuse me" to Bai Nuo, patted Bai Dalin on the shoulder, and left.
Only Bai Nuo, Qinghe, and Bai Dalin remained in the room.
After Manager He left, Bai Nuo acted as if she hadn't noticed Bai Dalin's presence, leisurely sipping her tea as if she were at home.
"What are you doing here?" Bai Nuo remained silent, but Bai Dalin couldn't take it anymore and looked at Bai Nuo with disgust, saying, "You're not welcome here!"
Bai Nuo, holding a teacup in one hand, looked at Bai Dalin with amusement. "What? Is Duobaoxuan now bullying its customers and driving them away? Or are you, Master Bai, having a grudge against me, so you're not doing business at all?"
"That's right!" Bai Dalin said with disgust. "So what if we don't want to do business with you anymore? Get out of here right now, seeing you ruins my business for the whole day."
Seeing Bai Dalin's arrogant attitude, Qinghe wanted to retort, but Bai Nuo grabbed Qinghe and said, "Alright, Qinghe, since they're kicking us out, let's go!" With that, she stood up and pulled Qinghe away.
"Girl!" Seeing Bai Nuo's submissive attitude, Qinghe looked at her disapprovingly. What kind of lousy father was this? It would have been better if he didn't have one. What's wrong with the girl? Why is she stopping her? She must beat this bitch into a pig's head!
"Let's go, we should head back!" Bai Nuo said softly.
"I'll count your vision!" Bai Dalin snorted, but didn't follow.
As the two walked out of the room, Qinghe exclaimed, "Girl, why are you afraid of him? I guarantee I can beat him into a pig's head!"
"Shh!" Bai Nuo hissed, saying helplessly, "If you hit him here, before we even leave this door, people will say we're unfilial!"
So they're just going to leave like that?
Qinghe was furious.
However, Bai Nuo insisted on leaving, and Qinghe had no choice but to follow her. But after leaving the shop, Bai Nuo did not return to the shop. Instead, she said, "You go in first. Leave the first floor to Second Master. You watch the second floor. If Second Master asks me about it, just say I have something to do and need to go out for a while."
"Where are you going?" Qinghe asked.
"Don't ask anymore, just go inside!" Bai Nuo said, and left on her own.
Qinghe watched her retreating figure, unsure whether to follow her or go back into the shop. After thinking for a while, he stamped his foot and went into the shop.
Bai Nuo walked on the street for a while, then turned into a side street and circled back to the back door of Duobaoxuan.
"Manager, are we really going to find that old man?" A short while later, the back door of Duobaoxuan opened, and Manager He and a waiter-like man came out. The waiter said as he walked, "It's daytime now. What if the old man gets angry if you go now?"
"Stop calling me 'Grandpa' all the time!" Manager He said irritably. "Bai Nuo is still in our shop. I'll go ask him what to do." He had said he wouldn't call him "Grandpa," but now he had blurted it out again.
When Bai Nuo saw the two people come out, she quickly hid.
She originally just wanted to follow this shopkeeper He to see where his products were made and how they could be so similar to theirs, but she didn't expect to overhear such a conversation.
What old man? What business is it of hers?
It seems that Duobaoxuan really came for her.
Seeing the two of them walk away while talking, Bai Nuo didn't have time to think and followed them. She didn't dare to get too close, but followed them from a distance, so as not to let them notice her, but also not to lose them.
But as they continued, Bai Nuo's attention began to wander. They had clearly left the town and entered a vast bamboo forest. Although the sound of the wind rustling through the bamboo leaves was pleasant, the silence was deafening. If it weren't for the two people talking ahead, Bai Nuo would have been terrified.
It was too quiet, eerily quiet.
Bai Nuo watched as Manager He arrived at a small wooden house. Manager He knocked on the door and went inside, where his waiter was waiting. Upon seeing this, she stopped.
However, being able to only watch from afar and not hear what was being said inside made Bai Nuo somewhat unwilling. It would have been better not to know, but now that she knew, Bai Nuo was very curious about whether there was some kind of troublesome old man inside, who that old man was, and what he would say.
Bai Nuo watched, and taking advantage of the waiter's inattention, she quietly slipped to the side. The bamboo house wasn't big, only about the size of two rooms, and she quickly slipped to the back.
When she got to the back of the house, Bai Nuo heard people talking inside, so she stopped and quietly opened the window.
Whether it was a lucky coincidence or an early arrival, the conversation inside had just begun when Bai Nuo saw Manager He kneeling opposite her, his head bowed.
Having grown accustomed to Manager He's smiling face, I'm really not used to seeing him kneeling so humbly.
But who is he kneeling to?
Bai Nuo couldn't see anything except a black hat.
She heard Manager He say, "Master, Bai Nuo is in our shop. What should we do with her?"
Could Manager He really be planning to kill her? No way! She's a woman, and even though she's an adversary, it's not like he'd actually kill her!
Bai Nuo dared not make a sound. After she could no longer see the person's face, she stopped looking and squatted down by the window, listening carefully.
Another voice said, "So many people saw her enter your shop, do you dare to kill her? How's the deal with Bai Dalin's pearls?"
