Bai Nuo wanted to speak, but Hu Mingmei silenced her. Bai Nuo wanted to refuse Hu Mingmei, but the man beside her was so aggressive that he didn't give her a chance to refuse. Gradually, Bai Nuo was led astray by Hu Mingmei and couldn't remember what they were talking about before.

The next morning, when Bai Nuo woke up, it was already broad daylight and the man was long gone. She touched the bed and found it ice-cold, wondering how long Hu Mingmei had been up.

After hearing the noise inside, Peony and Peony came in from outside. Seeing that Bai Nuo was already awake, the two of them lifted the curtain on either side. "Madam, shall we start now?"

"From now on, please call me Young Madam!" Bai Nuo said, propping herself up. Shaoyao quickly helped her up, and Bai Nuo asked, "What time is it? Where is Second Master?"

Peony glanced at the timetable and said softly, "It was just past 7 a.m., Madam. Doctor Sun just came over and said that we can start treating the old lady today. Do you think we should inform Doctor Sun?"

Bai Nuo remembered that Dr. Sun had mentioned this matter to her a few days ago. She remembered it yesterday morning, but last night, she forgot about it because of various things that happened.

"Has Dr. Sun been waiting for a long time?" Bai Nuo asked as she got out of bed. Mudan quickly helped Bai Nuo put on her shoes and said, "Dr. Sun just arrived at the old lady's room, and the concubine just arrived as well. The concubine left a message saying that you don't need to worry."

"Wash my face and change my clothes!" Jiang San Niang had arrived, so Bai Nuo wasn't in such a hurry anymore. After exhaling a breath of stale air, he said to the two of them.

The two of them worked together, helping Bai Nuo wash her face, then one helped her change her clothes and the other combed her hair, saying, "A simple one will do."

Peony nodded and combed Bai Nuo's hair neatly. Her hands were very nimble, and in no time, Bai Nuo's makeup and hair were done.

Wang Mama timed it perfectly, and when Bai Nuo finished getting ready, she came in to tell Bai Nu that breakfast was ready.

Bai Nuo was anxious about her grandmother's affairs and originally didn't want to eat breakfast, but thinking that the baby in her belly also needed to eat, she sat down and ate a couple of bites.

"I didn't know when you would be arriving, so I had Doctor Sun begin!" When Bai Nuo arrived at Grandma's room, Jiang San Niang was sitting in the outer room. Upon seeing her, she stood up and explained with a smile.

"How long has it been going on?" Bai Nuo glanced around the room; only Jiang San Niang was there with a maid. "Are you alone?"

"Bai Yu and Jiang Qiao'er went to the shop with my brother-in-law. Aunt Liu is in the kitchen." Jiang San Niang looked Bai Nuo up and down and, seeing the weariness in Bai Nuo's eyes, couldn't help but ask, "What happened? Why do you look so haggard?"

Bai Nuo had no choice but to recount the whole story.

Jiang San Niang's face was filled with horror, and she couldn't speak for a long time. "How could His Majesty?"

Clearly, Jiang San Niang and Bai Nuo had the same idea.

Bai Nuo shook her head. "Don't say anything more. Can I go in and see Grandma?"

"Dr. Sun didn't stop me from going in, but if you go in, you'd better be quiet."

Bai Nuo nodded, knowing that Jiang San Niang was afraid that her movements would affect Doctor Sun. She tiptoed into the inner room, not daring to get close, but just standing a little distance away where she could still see him.

Even though it was daytime, many candles were lit inside, making the whole room exceptionally bright, just like a modern operating room.

The old woman's entire back had been cut open, and it was covered with countless silver needles, making it look extremely gruesome. From Bai Nuo's perspective, all she could see was Doctor Sun's focused expression, with a silver needle still in his hand, inserted into the old woman's back—that was the last silver needle.

As the last silver needle was inserted, the old woman, who had been in a deep sleep, suddenly let out a wail and twitched. Bai Nuo could only cover her mouth and dare not make a sound.

Dr. Sun was not in a hurry regarding the old woman's condition. Instead, he said, "Come here and get me some silver needles!"

Bai Nuo had no choice but to go over and help Doctor Sun open the box on the table. Doctor Sun inserted silver needles into the old woman's head and limbs, and the old woman stopped moving completely, but was still groaning. Her face was covered with sweat, and she looked to be in great pain.

Dr. Sun's voice was devoid of any emotion: "You can help her wipe the sweat from her face."

Bai Nuo nodded, took out a handkerchief, and gently wiped the sweat off the old woman's face. Dr. Sun said, "Don't worry, this is all normal!"

"Hmm..." Bai Nuo nodded, like a devout patient trusting their attending physician, "I believe you!"

Dr. Sun looked up at her and saw that she looked distressed and unhappy, so he distracted himself and spoke to Bai Nuo, "What's wrong? Did that boy Hu Mingmei bully you? That can't be, aren't you pregnant? How could he bully a pregnant woman? That's too mean!"

"I'm worried about my grandma!" Bai Nuo shook her head and said with a wry smile, "She's so old and still suffering so much, I just can't bear to see her like this."

"You're so filial!" Doctor Sun smiled. "Don't worry, although this is my first time treating this kind of illness, it's not like I've never seen anything like it before. It'll be fine. Alright, you're just worrying here for nothing. Go out and boil some hot water so you can wash yourself when you're better."

Bai Nuo then turned and went out again. As soon as Jiang San Niang saw her come out, she hurriedly went to greet her, "How is it?"
