In the interrogation room, two police officers sat opposite Su Ning and began questioning her.

"Ms. Su, where were you between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM on February 25, 2001?"

Su Ning did not hesitate, "I am at home, and my maid and mother-in-law can testify to that."

The police officer then asked, "Does Miss Su know Miss Ou Lin? What is your relationship with her?"

Su Ning answered readily, not at all like someone who had killed anyone. The police concluded that either she was exceptionally well-mannered, or she really hadn't killed anyone.

"We don't know each other well; she's my friend's wife."

"Ask me anything you want to ask, and I will answer to the best of my knowledge."

Just then, the interrogation room door was pushed open from the outside, and Su Ning looked up to see a smart and capable policewoman standing in front of her.

The two police officers saw Xi Lan respectfully stand up and say, "Boss."

Xi Lan nodded, "I'll conduct the interrogation, and you'll take the statements."

"I've heard so much about you, Boss Su. My name is Xi Lan. You can call me Officer Xi or Madam."

Su Ning nodded. "I didn't kill Ou Lin. Last night I received a text message from her asking me to meet her at Repulse Bay. She said she had something important to tell me."

"When I arrived, there was no one there. Then I was knocked unconscious from behind. When I woke up, I saw Oulin lying in front of me. You guys have arrived too."
