First encounter, Su Ning arrives at a nightclub covered in blood, bumping into He Ci.
"Who are you, some female ghost?" He Ci remarks.
Later, Su Ning sees He Ci surrounded by ga...
The four arrived at the bustling city center, which was brightly lit and stretched as far as the eye could see. The sounds of conversation among the crowds and the shouts of the vendors filled the air.
Su Ning pulled Su Tian along, following the aroma, to a stall run by a middle-aged couple. Su Ning couldn't help but swallow her saliva when she saw the sausages on the griddle and the fried skewers in the oil.
"Sis, Mengmengmanman, shall we eat this?"
This was the first time Su Tian and her friends had seen these, and they had never eaten them before. When they saw the price on the sign, one yuan per skewer, they couldn't bear to spend the money.
"Ning'er, forget it. I think we should just go home and eat noodles. This one skewer is expensive and not filling enough."
After Wang Meng finished speaking, she looked at the sausages on the hot plate again. She really wanted to eat them too. She only had a few hundred yuan on her, and it was a question whether she could make it to the end of the month.
Su Ning knew what they were worried about! Seeing that there were more and more people at the stall, Su Ning pointed to the fried sausage, squid, chicken strips and rice cakes and ordered four servings of each. Su Ning paid sixteen yuan and told the owner to add chili and cumin.
The four of them grew up together, and Su Ning was familiar with all of their tastes. Soon, their fried skewers were ready. Su Ning paid sixteen yuan, and the group continued walking.
These fried skewers are not enough to be a meal, just enough for a few people to have a snack. Sun Man thought they were delicious, but a bit expensive.
This was Su Ning's first time here. In the past, He Ci or A Rang would pick her up after get off work, so she never had time to come here to shop.
Su Ning felt as if she had suddenly returned to the past, when her family was relatively poor, and when the four of them went shopping together, she would only look and not buy anything.
At times like this, Su Tian would buy her some snacks and then pretend that she didn't like them and gave them to her.
"What is all this stuff? It's awful. You have to finish it for me and don't waste it."
Su Ning knew it wasn't that she didn't like to eat; she had saved all the good food for herself. Later, the Zhu sisters started a cold war.
That's great! My older sister is back. Now that she's rich, I'm going to buy her lots of delicious food.
The group strolled from one end to the other, and whenever Su Ning saw something she wanted to eat, she would buy four servings without hesitation. By the end, everyone was stuffed.
It was already past midnight when they arrived at the Rose Garden. Since He Ci wasn't going home tonight anyway, Su Ning decided to share a bed with Su Tian.
The next morning, He Ci carried breakfast and entered the room. He thought Su Ning hadn't gotten up yet, so he quietly walked to the bedroom door.
The door was ajar. He pushed it open and found the room empty. He went to another room, but no one was there either. He knew without a doubt that they had gone to the other side of the street.
He Ci took out his phone to call Su Ning, but then put it back. It was only a little before five in the morning; they should still be asleep.
He Ci was a little annoyed. His little darling was no longer obedient and had started staying out all night. Before, she would wait for him if he came home a little late, but now that Su Tian and the others had come, she didn't want him anymore.
He Ci felt aggrieved. In the past, it was always those women who eagerly waited for him. He never thought that he would have such a day.
The wait was long. Finally, it was seven o'clock. He Ci couldn't help but call Su Ning. Su Ning knew that He Ci was back. She ran home without even combing her hair.
Su Tian brought out breakfast and saw a fleeting figure disappear at the door. She asked and found out that Ning'er had gone to the other side.
Su Tian's eyes were a little complicated. If Su Ning had to choose between He Ci and Zhu Zhou, she would rather give Zhu Zhou to Su Ning. He Ci was an unfathomable person, not someone they could climb up to.
When Su Ning returned home, she saw He Ci busy in the kitchen. The breakfast had gotten cold, so he brought it in and heated it up. Su Ning hugged his waist from behind and pressed her face against He Ci's back.
"Brother Ci! You weren't here last night, so I went to my sister's."
He Ci turned around and their eyes met. He saw guilt in Su Ning's eyes.
"Didn't we agree that I would help them find jobs and then you would come home to live? You've only been gone for one night and you've already disappeared?"
Su Ning looked at He Ci with clear eyes, and her obedient appearance made He Ci swallow back the words of reprimand he wanted to say.
He ruffled Su Ning's messy hair. "Alright, hurry up and wash up and eat. We'll have to reheat it if it gets cold."
