Chapter 339 Surprise

Mid-June, summer.

Shekh calculated the time; it had been almost a month and a half, or forty-odd days, since they set off. It seemed like a long time, but they had only visited six countries.

I knew the threat system would only give me six months, but I knew it wouldn't agree; even two months felt like a death sentence.

The "crying wolf" tactic will lose its effectiveness if used too often, so let's leave it at that for now.

Standing next to the luggage cart, Shekh stood motionless like a statue, holding onto the handle, seemingly lost in thought. From a distance, it looked like he was performing a piece of performance art called "Life Stillness."

Passengers stopped to look, and airport staff couldn't help but come over to ask her if she needed help.

Upon hearing the unfamiliar voice, Sheikh seemed to come alive and shook her head at him, telling the ground crew that she was waiting for someone.

As soon as he finished speaking, Shi Jinzhe put away his phone, pretended to wash the handle, and came out of the bathroom.

When Shekh saw him, he lost all his bones, his shoulders slumped, and when Shi Jin turned around, he leaned against him casually, instantly transforming from a cold, hard sculpture into a boneless, serpentine willow.

Shi Jin pulled her close and said, "Have you been waiting long?"

"Not bad, I've thought through three rounds of life for you."

"Then my life has been a bit too short."

There were already cars waiting outside the airport, and Shi Jinzhe immediately took everyone into the car.

A light rain drifted onto the car window, and he sighed inwardly at his bad luck; it was a cloudy day as soon as he got off the plane, and things would have to be postponed.

"What are you thinking about? You look so worried." Sheikh looked at the Victorian-style buildings outside and turned back to ask.

"I have no sorrow, it is my sadness that I am born with."

"It tastes bitter."

"Eat less chocolate, it's affecting your sense of smell." Shi Jinzhe snatched the chocolate that Shehe was putting into his mouth and fed it to himself.

Schech's hand was still in the position of holding something when the chocolate flew away from his mouth.

"Don't be so bold, I said you're worried, so you are worried."

"Isn't that a bit domineering?"

"Spit it out."

"You can't eat it even if you throw it up, it's such a waste."

"If I don't eat, you can't eat either." Shekhzhen pinched his chin and shook it forcefully from side to side. "Open your mouth."

Shi Jinzhe closed his mouth tightly and dodged backward, almost hitting his head on the glass. He swallowed it whole before speaking, "I tried it for you, it's not good."

Shekh stared at him for a long time before accusing him, "You haven't given me the surprise yet, and now you're stealing my chocolate. I'm going to punish you."

"It's not appropriate to say these things in broad daylight." Shi Jinzhe glanced at the driver, a young white man who probably couldn't understand what he was saying.

The next second, noticing the passengers in the back looking over, the driver asked him in fluent Chinese, "Sir, do you need anything?"

Shi Jinzhe: "...No, no, your Chinese is good."

The personal assistant found him a bit too many service personnel this time. The driver's native language is English, and he also understands Chinese so well. How is he supposed to communicate with Sheikh and say whatever he wants?

Sheh didn't let go, and Shi Jinzhe, not wanting to continue teasing her, produced a piece of chocolate from somewhere and stuffed it into her mouth, saying, "The surprise is coming soon."

"If this isn't a surprise enough, I'll bite you to death." Shekh sat up straight and glanced at the driver.

Customs vary from place to place and country to country. Having seen the world, she has more judgment and understanding than before, knowing what is unsuitable and what is acceptable.

She knew better than to talk about their private matters in front of outsiders; it was better to avoid trouble and prevent others from wanting to kill her if they heard something she didn't like.

The back seats returned to calm, and the car drove through the streets of Edinburgh in the rain, making a detour through the city center before driving away.

Not long after leaving the city, the rain stopped and the sky gradually cleared.

Lush forests appeared on the distant hills, greatly enhancing the natural scenery, as the car drove towards a less populated area.

Sheh lost count of how long she had been sitting there; she was almost asleep when she heard the sound of the waves. She groggily opened her eyes and saw a few gray-white pointed towers above the treetops.

She opened her eyes and rolled down the car window. In the slanting afternoon sunlight, the car wound its way around the coastline and into a beautifully manicured and romantic lawn garden.

At the end of the road stands a Baroque-style castle.

The towers are tall and wide, with smooth curves. The glass of the Hall of Mirrors shines in the light, and the stone bricks on the outer walls, which are carved with reliefs, are extremely gorgeous. The style of the entire castle is so complicated that it is almost flamboyant, but it appears magnificent because it is backed by a whole forest.

Is it the castle she's always dreamed of, or even the grand castle?

Schech's displeasure at not getting the first piece of chocolate vanished instantly, and he held on tightly, refusing to let go, even when the car stopped.

"I want to stay with you forever."

"You have to choose between me and the castle. Which one do you pick?"

"Don't be like this." Shekh wouldn't allow him to make a fool of himself like this. "Love without a family is not enough. Be realistic."

“Am I not realistic?” Shi Jinzhe lifted her up and carried her inside. “You said before that I was your home.”

"Don't be dissatisfied. Some people have neither a home nor love, but you have both."

Sheikh pressed his face against his, forgetting all about propriety in the car, and kissed him again and again without any restraint.

The castle is really big, with about 300 rooms. You could stay in a different room every day without repeating the same one.

Shekh asked Shi Jinzhe, "How much did this cost?"

"Don't be like that, you'll be unhappy if I ask." Shi Jinzhe said bluntly, "Anyway, its appreciation speed is not as fast as mine, and its cost performance is not as good as mine."

The renovation and rebuilding of the castle is more expensive than simply buying it, not including the subsequent maintenance costs. He was afraid that Sheikh would turn around and leave if he heard that.

Upon hearing this, Shekh immediately felt the pinch: "Is it particularly expensive?"

"Not as expensive as you, look at the scenery here." Shi Jinzhe gestured for her to look at the sea outside the window.

Shekh spotted the boat below immediately. "Can we go boating?"

She'd had enough of flying in the sky; she wanted to ride something that floats on the sea.

Shi Jinzhe gazed at the descending clouds on the horizon. The weather in Scotland was unpredictable that day; it was sunny now, but he feared it might rain again soon.

The small wooden boat on the shore offered no shelter. With his and Shekh's abilities, danger wasn't important; even if the boat capsized and fell into the sea, it wouldn't matter. The main concern was that he didn't want to get soaked and then awkwardly row back.

Shi Jinzhe hesitated for a moment, "If it rains, will you row back with me?"

“Sure.” For the sake of the castle, Shekh readily agreed.

Shi Jinzhe: "Then let's go."

Walking from the castle on the hillside to the sea, Schech chose a newly painted boat and, after pushing it into the sea, slowly gave it a couple of pushes with the oars.
