Master Fu, Madam Left You a Child

After marrying him, everyone in our circle constantly spread rumors that I, Song Xingyao, was just a replacement. Yet, I had never even heard the name of the person I was supposedly replacing.

Chapter 213 Birthday Gift

The familiar scent and embrace behind her calmed her down.

"Why were you suddenly assigned here?"

Fu Siming took her hand and, following her movements, pulled Fu Xunzhi into his arms.

"Of course, I've prepared a surprise for you."

surprise?

Song Xingyao didn't realize what was happening. Wasn't it his birthday? Why was he preparing a surprise for her?

He didn't rush to speak.

To avoid letting him see what he had prepared in his pocket, he deliberately turned his body to the side, looking somewhat awkward.

But Fu Siming seemed unconcerned.

I led her to the rooftop terrace.

With a wide view and an unobstructed view of the river, Song Xingyao felt that the path of the water and the surrounding environment were somewhat familiar, but she still couldn't recall any related memories.

As darkness fell and the lights on the terrace came on, the quiet and comfortable atmosphere made her sigh with admiration, realizing that Fu Siming had excellent taste.

In such a wonderful place, even dining is a pleasure.

Song Xingyao was surprised to find that all the dishes on the table tasted familiar.

She asked in surprise, "Did you make all of this yourself?"

"You finally figured it out. I was thinking that if you hadn't, I should tell you on purpose when you made your wish later."

His somewhat awkward voice came through the phone. Even though Song Xingyao, who had lost her memory, couldn't taste the food he had carefully prepared, he couldn't hide his disappointment.

Noticing his slight mood, and thinking about the gift she was going to give him later, she looked at Fu Xunzhi with some gratitude.

If his son hadn't reminded him, who knows how wronged this man would have been?

Fu Xunzhi scrambled off the stool, grabbed the ribbon he'd asked his teacher to tie that afternoon, and handed it to Fu Siming. "Happy birthday, Dad!"

Upon opening it, I discovered it was a family portrait of three people, framed in brown.

The words "Happy Birthday" were neatly written on the side.

After the father and son finished interacting, their expectant eyes turned towards Song Xingyao.

Song Xingyao felt that her ability to play dumb was getting better and better.

But thinking that Song Xingyao had not fully recovered her memory, he still sighed imperceptibly.

Whether it was because he was running around at school or because he had been in the car for too long in the afternoon, Fu Xunzhi said he was sleepy early on and was taken to his room to rest by the housekeeper.

The two were left staring at each other in bewilderment.

Song Xingyao looked away guiltily, stood up and looked around, pretending nothing was wrong.

But Fu Siming wasn't going to let her off so easily. It seemed like he had been waiting for a long time before he finally got the chance to ask her properly, "Did you really forget your own birthday?"

Once the person was trapped in front of the railing and completely unable to move, Song Xingyao raised her hands as if begging for mercy and spoke first.

"I was wrong, I admit my mistake. I did remember your birthday only after Xunzhi reminded me, but... I don't remember ever celebrating our birthdays together..."

"So, Mr. Fu, you're so magnanimous, please forgive me?"

"Hmm... your attitude is quite sincere, it all depends on how you get me to forgive you..."

He drawled out the last syllable, waiting for the woman in front of him to make any further moves.

The next second, soft lips stepped forward, ready to press against his cheek.

But he grabbed her hand and leaned down slightly to get closer.

The rich aroma of red wine filled my nostrils.

When she closed her eyes, she realized that the man was biting her lips as if punishing her.

She opened her mouth slightly, and a nimble tongue came over and stole all her breath.

Finally, her legs went weak and she leaned on his shoulder, saying with a hint of reproach, "You..."

"It has to be this way!"

Hearing his somewhat mischievous and smug voice, the heat on her face intensified.

"Fu Siming, you're a scoundrel!"

He pushed her away, somewhat annoyed, and prepared to leave. The next second, a ray of light suddenly burst forth in the night sky behind him.

Huge fireworks ignited the night sky.

The people who were walking downstairs stopped and started taking pictures with their phones.

Turning around, I saw that the man was standing right where the light and shadow were flickering.

His eyes widened in surprise, and he stopped in his tracks completely.

As Fu Siming drew closer and closer, it was as if he were walking out of the flames.

Song Xingyao hadn't even reacted yet, but her heartbeat seemed to be in sync with the exploding fireworks, growing louder and louder, as if the world had shrunk down to just the two of them, getting closer and closer.

Not knowing how to react, Song Xingyao could only obediently cooperate with his actions and be led closer to the fireworks.

My eyes feel a little sore.

His deep voice came from behind, his tone serious and earnest, "Song Xingyao, it's a pleasure to see you again. I've wanted to say this for a long time."

The two were very close, as if only in this way could he hear his truest thoughts amidst the deafening roar of the fireworks.

"I've waited for you for so long, so long that I went to ask the gods if you would come back, if you would forgive me. So long that when you finally came back, you didn't remember me... Song Xingyao, can you fall in love with me again?"

Song Xingyao couldn't see his expression, but the doubt and lack of confidence in his tone drifted into her ears like a breeze.

This version of him is unfamiliar. He used to always seem indifferent, and even when he was suffering from amnesia, he always stayed by his side, firmly telling him that no matter what, he would always be there for him.

It turns out that he's been feeling insecure all this time.

The two warm marks that slid down her face made her want to turn around and hug him immediately.

"Song Xingyao, can you please not leave me this time?" he asked again.
