In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
After the storm, there was another period of chaos. The battlefield moved from the ground to the sofa, and then to the bathroom. Only after the final battle was over did Yu Wei fall asleep with the unconscious person in his arms.
A strong vibration came from the communicator on his wrist. Yu Wei, who had just fallen asleep, opened his eyes groggily. It was just getting light outside, and he couldn't see the situation inside. However, the lingering scent of pheromones in the air and the chaotic fragments in his mind were all stimulating his nerves, telling the story of last night's madness.
In the urgency of the situation, Yu Wei picked up the crumpled clothes from the ground and put them on by the dim light. He didn't know where his coat was, so he simply stopped looking for it.
Yu Wei hailed a taxi and headed straight to the command center. After paying, he jumped out of the car and ran wildly to the conference room.
As he ran to the door, he bumped into Yu Zhen's assistant. Yu Wei stumbled and almost lost his balance, but fortunately, the assistant caught him quickly.
"General Yu, your uniform..." A middle-aged man in military uniform said meaningfully, "Young people should pay attention to their image."
Yu Wei scratched his head awkwardly, gave a brief greeting, entered the conference room, and found a seat.
"This meeting will mainly discuss the following three items: First, formulate a post-war stabilization and economic recovery plan for the Eighteenth Star; second, formulate a plan to capture the rebel leaders; and third, draft a list of personnel to participate in the capture."
"I'm applying..."
As soon as Yu Zhen finished speaking, Yu Wei took the initiative to request to go somewhere else to calm down, saying that too many things had happened yesterday.
Moreover, his desertion this morning was highly inappropriate, as he didn't even know what the other person looked like. If the other person was from an innocent family, and he had marked them but then ran away, it would be a significant blow to that Omega and their entire family. Furthermore, if that person happened to be engaged, how would he face his Alpha in the future?
After much thought, Yu Wei felt he should find a way to locate that person and at least provide some necessary compensation.
"General Yu Wei, according to the assessment of the Military Command Committee, your current physical condition is not suitable for participating in military operations." Yu Zhen raised his head and said calmly, "According to the report provided by the military hospital, your glands are extremely unstable, and your pheromones are very prone to going out of control..."
“I disagree with the assessment,” Yu Wei interrupted Yu Zhen by raising his hand. “I request a medical examination and a reassessment.”
"Submit a written application to the committee after the meeting." Yu Zhen switched to the next page. "The meeting continues."
The post-war reconstruction plan was approved unanimously, and it was decided that Lin Gu would temporarily lead the troops to be stationed there to ensure the stability of the 18th Star. The plan to hunt down the rebel leader was also fine, but there were great objections to the confirmation of the list of people to be hunted.
Yu Wei insisted that he was in good health and could participate in the manhunt, but the command committee members, led by Yu Zhen, insisted that Yu Wei was unable to participate and should stay at headquarters to recuperate.
With both sides deadlocked, they finally compromised and agreed on a middle ground: Chu Yunmu and Chen Du would lead the action team to the 18th Star, while Yu Wei's spot would be temporarily reserved until the results of the second evaluation were available.
"General Yu, I'm so sorry, this opportunity should have been given to you."
Chen Du looked at Yu Wei with a smug expression. He and Yu Wei were in the same batch of trainees, and Chen Du had always been overshadowed by Yu Wei, including in the last promotion.
Strictly speaking, neither of them were qualified for promotion. However, a general had just died in the line of duty, and there was no one else to replace him. Given the urgency of the situation, the alliance had no choice but to list Yu Wei and Chen Du, who ranked first and second in the same batch, as candidates and select one of them for promotion as an exception. With Yu Zhen in the running, Yu Wei naturally became the chosen one.
“There’s no right or wrong.” Yu Wei smiled and shook his head. “The rebel leader is cunning and even fled with weapons. Be careful.”
Yu Wei patted Chen Du on the shoulder. He had dealt with the rebel leader before; he was a cunning and treacherous man who was difficult to deal with.
Yu Wei's concern caught Chen Du off guard. He mentally gave her the middle finger as she left, thinking, "What an act, she really knows how to pretend."
"Yu Wei, are you out of your mind?" Lin Gu, who was following behind Yu Wei, couldn't stand it anymore: "Can't you see he's showing off!"
"Huh? Really?" Yu Wei frowned, pondered for a moment, and said, "No, I don't think so. He seemed quite upset."
Lin Gu sighed, "Look, look! What are you looking at?! Where did your eyes go? Are they on the back of your head?"
"By the way, where did you go last night?" Lin Gu put his hand on Yu Wei's shoulder. "Zhenzhen said she saw you carrying a pot of garlic sprouts. Are you planning to move?"
"No." Thinking of what he had seen yesterday, Yu Wei forced a smile: "That was something my dad raised here. I'm just returning it to its rightful owner."
"You let his garlic grow like that, didn't Uncle Lin grab your ear and beat you up?"
Thinking of the pot of garlic with only the bulbs left, Lin Gu couldn't help but laugh out loud. The garlic had grown exceptionally well when he brought it over, and he couldn't resist picking some to take home and cook.
Linling's products are really good; they don't have a garlicky smell, but instead have a subtle fragrance.
"So I had someone deliver it over there." Yu Wei sighed. "Otherwise, why do you think I was in such a hurry to run?"
"I thought you'd suffered some kind of shock. You just got back and haven't even seen anyone before you're leaving again." Lin Gu suddenly lowered his voice and asked, "By the way, how far have things progressed between you two?"
"Which step?"
"You've been married for over two years, haven't you? How come there's been no sign of anything going on?"
"You should worry about your own affairs," Yu Wei changed the subject. "Are you planning to take Yu Zhen with you?"
The reconstruction and economic recovery of the 18th Star will not be easy; it will take at least seven or eight years.
"I want to wait until things stabilize over there before we talk about it." Lin Gu's mood was somewhat downcast. "I don't want them to take risks with me."
