The cold wind howled and lashed the tent violently, and the dim yellow light swayed as if it would fall to the ground at any moment.

"alright."

Qin Ge wiped the scalpel, watching the rapidly healing wound with great interest. He couldn't help but reach out and poke it, earning a glare from Yu Wei: "Childish."

"Is this how you treat your savior?" Qin Ge snorted, packed up his medical kit, and instead of leaving, he circled Yu Wei a few times. Yu Wei lifted his eyelids and shifted his gaze from the computer screen back to Qin Ge's face.

With his current recovery speed, even if his hand is cut off, it can grow back. He may have already reached the point where he can recover even if his heart is injured.

However, he dared not try; he had too many things to do and too much responsibility to bear.

With Lin Gu missing and Chu Yunmu not in good condition, they couldn't find anyone to replace him as commander.

"I really don't understand you right now." Qin Ge pulled over a chair and sat down in front of Yu Wei, kicking Yu Wei's shin: "If you're really worried about Zhou Siyu, why don't you just tell him not to go? Wouldn't it be safer to keep him by your side?"

“I want to protect him, but that doesn’t mean I want to build a cage to lock him up and keep him by my side at all times.” Yu Wei smiled, as if talking to himself: “He is a living, breathing person, and he needs freedom.”

He wanted to protect him, to provide him with a safe haven, but that didn't mean he could only soar in this one place. He could go wherever he wanted and do whatever he wanted.

He was behind him, ready to come back anytime he got tired.

"I'm afraid you're giving me too much freedom." Qin Ge's eyes dimmed, his fingers unconsciously rubbing his ring finger. "And that's what makes the kite fly away."

"I don't know how to fly a kite." Yu Wei moved his wrist, feeling his numb arm regain some feeling. He sighed slightly, gently rubbing his forearm as he said nonchalantly, "What Yu Wen did has nothing to do with you. Why are you thinking about him?"

Qin Ge looked like a wilted eggplant, a mixture of grievance and anger on his face: "This is the first time I've ever been attracted to someone, and I never expected him to..."

"No one expected this to happen, you don't need to blame yourself."

Yu Wei gently patted Qin Ge's hand. Yu Wen was too good at hiding things. If it weren't for the ambush incident being exposed, he would have been kept in the dark.

"Which eye of yours saw me blaming myself?" Qin Ge took a deep breath, resuming his nonchalant demeanor, as if the person who had just been aggrieved and angry was a completely different person.
