In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
“If you can stand it, how could I not?” Zhou Siyu pinched Yu Wei’s cheek. “You underestimate me.”
"You're so good to me." Yu Wei lowered his head and kissed Zhou Siyu's cheek. "I must have done a lot of good deeds in my past life to meet you in this one."
"Then why don't you hurry up and find some good food and drinks to treat me?" Zhou Siyu smacked his lips and stroked his chin, saying, "I want to eat king crab."
"No." Yu Wei pinched Zhou Siyu's nose and laughed, "Seriously, what do you want to eat?"
"Roasted whole lamb, steamed lamb..."
Zhou Siyu counted a long list of dishes on her fingers, her phoenix eyes slightly narrowed, her gaze shifting, yet she counted with utmost seriousness.
“Nothing.” Yu Wei sighed helplessly, lifted Zhou Siyu’s chin, caught the slyness in his eyes, and laughed and scolded, “Are you playing me?”
"You don't have this or that, what kind of bland and unappetizing life do you usually lead?"
"It's not exactly bland, just like opening a blind box every day." Yu Wei took out the medicine and handed it to Zhou Siyu, then took the cup from his hand and refilled it with water. "This medicine is only effective if taken on an empty stomach. After you take it, I'll take you to eat."
"I'm not taking my medicine." Upon seeing the white pills, Zhou Siyu suddenly became agitated. "Take them away, I'm not taking them."
He's constantly taking medicine or getting injections, even though it's not a terminal illness. He's practically a walking pharmacy.
He now strongly suspects that Yu Wei and Lin Ling are using him as a guinea pig.
"Honey, this is just a regular stomach medicine. Just think of it as an appetizer before your meal, okay?"
Yu Wei had no choice but to coax him, as he couldn't force the medicine onto his face. He could only try to soothe him like a child.
"I don't want it, take it away."
Zhou Siyu pushed Yu Wei away, grabbed the blanket and fell onto the bed, burying herself in it.
Tears streamed down his face uncontrollably. Zhou Siyu huddled under the covers, not knowing why he was crying. He just felt wronged, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He just suddenly felt like crying for no reason.
"Okay, okay, I'll take it. I don't want to take the medicine." Yu Wei struggled to pull Zhou Siyu out of the blanket, wiped away his tears, and held the sobbing man in his arms, gently patting him to the back. "Why are you still crying? You're like a child."
“I won’t take medicine! Yu Wei, do you also think I’m going to die soon? Do you also think I won’t get better?” Zhou Siyu buried her face in Yu Wei’s shoulder, rubbing against him while sobbing as she spoke, “I’m not that fragile, I’ll get better.”
"Where do you get so many strange ideas?" Yu Wei gently patted his back. "You'll definitely get better. Besides, how could I bear to see you die? We're going to travel around together, taste all kinds of delicious food, and live together for a long, long time."
“Yuwei…”
Zhou Siyu sobbed softly, crying her heart out in Yu Wei's arms.
"Why are you crying even harder?" Yu Wei helplessly lifted his face, pulled out a tissue and wiped his tears. "Don't cry, okay? Be good, your eyes will get swollen if you keep crying."
“Yu Wei…” Zhou Siyu sniffed, and under Yu Wei’s eager gaze, she finally spoke after a long while: “I’m hungry.”
"I thought you were going to say something." Yu Wei patted his chest, stood up and picked up Zhou Siyu. "Come on, I'll take you to eat."
Zhou Siyu's face was solemn just now, as if he had taken life and death lightly but also lingered in the mortal world. Yu Wei was really afraid that he would start making arrangements for his death the next second.
It was dinnertime, and the cafeteria was bustling with people. Everyone carrying their trays would glance at the corner, find a seat, and then continue to look around.
Zhou Siyu's hospital gown was too big, and coupled with the fact that he had lost a lot of weight recently, his face was gaunt and unrecognizable. The oversized hospital gown hung loosely on his body, and the wind made his thin figure appear even more striking.
"Eat more meat to nourish yourself."
Yu Wei used chopsticks to remove the fat from the braised pork and put the lean meat into Zhou Siyu's plate. Then he started to remove the fish bones and used the chopsticks to feed the deboned fish meat to Zhou Siyu's mouth.
"You eat it yourself."
Two red blushes rose on Zhou Siyu's sickly face, and the gazes around him were like thorns, making him feel very uncomfortable.
"Ignore them."
Yu Wei looked up and glanced at the people who had been staring at them. A chill ran through him, and the people who had been peeking immediately lowered their heads and silently picked at the food on their plates.
"By the way, how's the milk-flavored steamed bun? I haven't seen it for a while."
“It… um…” Yu Wei touched the tip of his nose, considering whether or not to tell the truth.
"Speak! What's wrong with it?"
Zhou Siyu's sudden increase in volume drew everyone's attention, and some people craned their necks curiously, wanting to hear what the two were talking about.
Some people were surprised, not expecting that the usually dignified chairman would be so submissive in front of his wife.
“It’s a bit…” Yu Wei didn’t know how to describe it, so he sighed, “I’ll take you to see it later.”
"I'm sorry, I just..."
Zhou Siyu scratched his hair in frustration. He didn't know why he suddenly lost control of his emotions. He had never been so out of control in public before.
"It's okay, let's eat."
Yu Wei tapped the table, glanced at the probing eyes around him, and sighed deeply in his heart. His dignified image was completely ruined.
After dinner, Yu Wei escorted Zhou Siyu back to his dormitory and handed him a clean set of clothes.
"I have a meeting, I'll be back later, you should rest first." Seeing Zhou Siyu with his head down and not speaking, Yu Wei reached out and ruffled his hair, explaining softly, "It's too late today, I'll take you to see milk-flavored steamed buns tomorrow."
