In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
"Snap out of it."
The cold voice, like a gentle north wind, entered his brain. Qin Ge opened his eyes and found himself leaning against a small tree, the scalpel in his hand nowhere to be found.
The light reflected from the blade stung his eyes. Before he could react, Zhou Siyu swiftly brought the scalpel down, slicing a large wound into his palm.
What are you doing?
Qin Ge rushed to Zhou Siyu's side, but it was too late to stop Zhou Siyu from pressing her wound against the man's hand.
"You're crazy! You'll get infected with the Kao virus!"
Qin Ge grabbed Zhou Siyu's hand, but it was too late. He could only watch helplessly as the man's blood mingled with Zhou Siyu's blood.
Zhou Siyu seemed not to hear, patted Qin Ge on the shoulder, and looked at Lu Qin who was rushing over. She completely relaxed and said wearily, "Let me lean on you for a bit."
The Kao virus took effect quickly; Zhou Siyu's heartbeat soon became abnormal, and it seemed as if a fire was rising in his body, coursing through his meridians.
Lu Qin kicked the lifeless man and beckoned to the guards: "Pack it up and contact the lab."
He then walked over to Zhou Siyu and Qin Ge, and patted Zhou Siyu on the shoulder, asking, "Siyu, are you alright?"
"It's alright." Zhou Siyu closed her eyes and suddenly threw herself into Lu Qin's arms, hugging his neck and rubbing against him. "Help me contact Uncle Lin and tell him that the first test subject has been found."
He liked the faint scent of osmanthus on Lu Qin; it was like sweet osmanthus cake, making people want to get closer.
Qin Ge explained the whole story, and Lu Qin's face turned very ugly. He immediately decided to have Qin Ge personally take Zhou Siyu to the laboratory.
Just as Lin Ling returned to the lab break room and closed her eyes, her communicator rang. Exhausted, she answered it and weakly said "Hello."
"Uncle Lin, something's happened."
Qin Ge told Lin Ling what had happened at the base, and her drowsiness instantly vanished. Lin Ling sat up, feeling a throbbing pain in her temples: "Where are you?"
"We're almost at the lab."
"Give him a sedative first, and let the robot monitor his heart rate and blood pressure in real time."
"Okay, I understand."
Qin Ge hung up the communicator, his arm was tugged, and he looked down to see Zhou Siyu with half-closed eyes and half her face buried in the blanket, her voice barely audible: "Qin Ge..."
"Um?"
"I just saw Yu Wei."
"Hmm, hmm?" Qin Ge turned around, took out a thermometer and put it under his arm, muttering, "You can't get a fever at this critical moment."
“I don’t have a fever, and I really saw him.” Zhou Siyu suddenly chuckled softly, “If I had known that I would be able to see him if I were infected with the Kao virus…”
"You have a fever, take your medicine."
Qin Ge couldn't help but interrupt his fantasy, realizing for the first time how long the three-day journey from the Ninth Planet to the Eighth Planet felt.
He tolerated Zhou Siyu's recurring fevers and the resulting anxieties; he also tolerated Zhou Siyu's delirious talk that frightened him.
But why is he being fed dog food while taking care of Zhou Siyu?
This is intolerable!
Isn't being single a life?
"Yes, he told me to take my medicine properly."
Zhou Siyu chuckled, got up, took the medicine from Qin Ge's hand, put it in his mouth, drank some water, and buried himself in the blanket.
"You don't have a fever." Qin Ge looked at the thermometer and sighed. "Take your medicine and get some rest. Maybe you'll see Yu Wei when you wake up."
"Hmm." Zhou Siyu groaned softly, pulling back the covers to look at Qin Ge. "Do you think I'll die?"
"Now you're worried about whether you're dead? Where were you before?"
"I was just asking." Zhou Siyu blinked, looked at the top of the spaceship, and said wistfully, "Do you think he would remember me if I died?"
"Yes, he will remember you for the rest of his life. After everything is over, he will find a deserted place to live in seclusion." Qin Ge yawned. "So you have to live well, otherwise he will die alone."
"He will forget me."
Zhou Siyu was also yawned by him, but he wasn't sleepy at all; he was full of energy.
"He has a good memory." Qin Ge crossed his arms and snorted, then casually took out a piece of candy and stuffed it into Zhou Siyu's mouth. "When he was a kid, someone reported him for something bad. On the surface, this kid didn't seem to care about anything, but in reality, he remembered it for more than ten years. After he recovered, he put the person in a sack and beat them up badly."
"So vengeful?"
"Of course, he may seem simple, but he actually keeps a little notebook in his mind. He remembers whoever bullies him and will take revenge when he has the power." Qin Ge chewed on a rose candy. "But he's very protective of his own. Once he's made friends with someone, no one can bully them."
"You don't seem like someone he could get along with."
Yu Wei is the kind of person who will start a fight at the drop of a hat and beat you until you cry for your parents, while Qin Ge seems like the kind of person who likes to plan ahead and stab you in the back.
"Sigh, when I first met him, I didn't think he was a very good fighter." Qin Ge rested his chin on his hand, quite regretfully: "The first time I saw him, I thought he was a young girl, pretty, with fair skin, and speaking softly."
Who knew he was actually a man! And he even differentiated into an S-class Alpha.
"So you're always around him, do you still like him?"
Zhou Siyu's eyes were full of curiosity. He had always been curious about how Yu Wei could have so many friends with such different personalities, and what was even more amazing was that they had such good relationships.
"What nonsense are you talking about!" Qin Ge rubbed Zhou Siyu's face with disdain. "Comrade Zhou, your suspicions are a bit too broad."
