In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
Why aren't you leaving yet?
As Zhou Siyu came out of the bathroom drying her hair, she looked displeased at the person who had taken up the bed. Was he addicted to acting?
"Why should I leave? Isn't it reasonable for a fiancé to stay in his fiancée's room?"
Yu Wei lay on his side on the bed, propping his head up with one hand. His bathrobe slipped loosely off, revealing his neatly arranged eight-pack abs.
"If I give you a pole, you'll actually climb it?"
Zhou Siyu threw the towel at Yu Wei's face and then took out a hairdryer to dry her hair.
"What brand of shampoo do you use?" Yu Wei sniffed the towel. "It smells really good."
"Hot Spring Hotel brand shampoo, for dry, frizzy, and tangled hair, you deserve it."
Zhou Siyu rolled her eyes. Could this guy please put on his bathrobe properly instead of acting like a pervert?
"I'll blow it for you."
Yu Wei chuckled, pulled up his bathrobe, sat behind Zhou Siyu, and picked up a hairdryer to blow-dry the air haphazardly.
Thanks to his efforts, his hair dried, but it was blown into a mess, looking like a bird's nest.
"Yu! Wei!" Zhou Siyu turned around with her hair a mess. "Look what you've done!"
"Oh dear, I didn't mean to." Yu Wei burst into laughter, "Hahahaha... I really didn't... hahahahahaha... on purpose... ha..."
"You're all talk and no action! I'll beat you to death!"
Enraged, Zhou Siyu jumped onto the bed, grabbed Yu Wei by the neck, and wanted nothing more than to strangle him.
"Fiancée." Yu Wei placed his hands behind his head, leisurely looking at the person on top of him, "Why are you in such a hurry..."
"I'll beat you to death!"
Zhou Siyu raised his fist, paused in mid-air, and then slowly lowered it.
He simply couldn't bring himself to hurt that face.
Unexpectedly, Yu Wei suddenly attacked, flipping over and pinning him down.
"You shameless bastard! You attacked me from behind! You schemed!"
Zhou Siyu was filled with remorse. He shouldn't have been so blinded by beauty and lost his composure, allowing the man to seize on his weakness.
"All's fair in war." Yu Wei smiled and pinched his chin, saying seriously, "Why don't we give it a try?"
"What?" Zhou Siyu nudged Yu Wei. "Get up first."
"You have to promise me first," Yu Wei said, sounding somewhat like a tantrum. "Otherwise, I won't get up."
"You tell me first, and I'll consider it."
"You won't agree to my request..."
"How am I supposed to know if you're trying to harm me if you don't tell me?" Zhou Siyu snorted. "What if you're after my billions in assets and want to take advantage of my misfortune?"
"I'm not after money." Yu Wei gently stroked Zhou Siyu's lips. "I'm after the person."
"You still say you're not after my money?" Zhou Siyu turned her face away. "You definitely want me to fall in love with you first, take you home, and then secretly transfer my assets..."
“I’m not interested in money,” Yu Wei said, pursing his lips. “I said, let’s give it a try.”
"I admit, although idiots may not be very bright, they have a really good eye for talent."
Why are you insulting yourself?
Zhou Siyu was speechless. Yu Wei wasn't stupid; he just didn't want to step out of his comfort zone. He knew there was a lot of evil and darkness in the world, but he didn't want to be suspicious of others. He'd rather believe in ghosts than believe that people's hearts were inherently evil.
“Okay, I’ve definitely been influenced by him.” Yu Wei kissed Zhou Siyu’s cheek. “I’ve discovered that you’re quite in line with my aesthetic.”
"So what are you trying to say?" Zhou Siyu raised an eyebrow. "That you've fallen hopelessly in love with me and want to be with me forever?"
"How did you know?" Yu Wei blinked. "Are you a tapeworm in my stomach?"
"Don't show off such an old, tired trope," Zhou Siyu said, avoiding Yu Wei's gaze. "It just looks tasteless."
"You look much more interesting than when you're all weak, pitiful, and crying."
Yu Wei chuckled softly, released Zhou Siyu, sat up and slowly said, "I inherited his memories, his feelings, everything about him, but I know I can't compare to him."
"He is like a cloud in the sky, pure and white, gentle, meticulous and patient, able to open his heart to everyone."
"I am the mud in the ground, filthy, irritable, careless, and impatient, and I keep my distance from everyone."
“No one could dislike him.” Yu Wei smiled bitterly. “You’re very happy with him, aren’t you?”
“You are indeed very happy.” Zhou Siyu sighed. “You and he are really nothing alike.”
"You're hurting me by saying that."
Yu Wei's pained expression earned him a glare from Zhou Siyu.
"However, there is one thing you two are very similar in."
"where?"
“He talks too much.” Zhou Siyu crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow at Yu Wei. “When we’re alone, he always likes to tell me about the interesting things that happened to him that day, but I always just give him perfunctory answers.”
"Later he stopped talking. He was quiet and reserved at home, but could chat with friends all night long when he was out."
"Can you stop bringing up my embarrassing past?" Yu Wei covered her face. "I was partly responsible for those things too!"
He and the original Yu Wei were originally one personality, just two extremes. They shared the same heartbeat and breath, and influenced each other, but they just didn't merge.
“You and him…” Zhou Siyu sighed, “He used to be so innocent and pure, it always makes me feel guilty.”
Many times he wondered if Yu Wei was a pre-programmed, artificial person, always optimistic and cheerful.
But now he understands that Yu Wei simply hides all his sadness and unhappiness in his heart and suppresses it deep in his soul.
When he discovered that the world was not as wonderful as he had imagined, he was disappointed, unleashed the darkness, and let it devour him.
