In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
"You said it, you can't lie to me." Yu Wei was still not satisfied, and lowered her head to bite Zhou Siyu's lips. "If you dare to lie to me, I'll make you paralyzed for life and unable to get out of bed."
"I'm scared of you, get out of the car now." Zhou Siyu sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I'm taking you to discuss business tonight, so watch your temper."
"Okay." Yu Wei released Zhou Siyu and straightened his clothes. "I won't embarrass you."
"Good girl."
Zhou Siyu finally understood. Yu Wei was just a big cat. Usually, he was arrogant and looked down on everyone, but in front of her, he liked to throw a tantrum and beg for hugs. When he was angry, he would become incredibly obedient as long as she stroked his fur.
Yu Wei held Zhou Siyu's hand tightly the whole way, walking with his head held high and chest puffed out, as if he wanted to hold up a sign to tell everyone, "My wife is taking me shopping for clothes."
"Try this one."
Zhou Siyu picked up a sweatshirt and held it up in front of Yu Wei, indicating that he should go to the fitting room to take a look.
"Sir, you have excellent taste. This is the latest model this year," the sales clerk said enthusiastically, her eyes darting between the two men.
"Give it a try."
Zhou Siyu pushed Yu Wei into the fitting room, crossed her arms, leaned against the door, and lowered her eyes to think about the problem.
"Hey! What are you doing standing here?" Yu Wei, who opened the door, was startled. "Standing is tiring. You can go sit over there and wait."
"Um."
Zhou Siyu looked up, her eyes lighting up. Yu Wei happened to be wearing sweatpants and sneakers today, and the whole outfit made her look at least ten years younger.
"How about it?"
Yu Wei happily spun around, looking at Zhou Siyu expectantly.
"It looks good." Zhou Siyu waved to the shop assistant. "Please pack it up."
"It's too expensive." Yu Wei glanced at the price tag and whispered in Zhou Siyu's ear, "This dress is worth at most fifty, how dare she sell it for over two thousand?"
"It's okay, I have money."
Zhou Siyu paid the bill generously, tossed the clothes to Yu Wei, and strode away with one hand in his pocket.
"You can't spend money like this even if you have it." Yu Wei's heart was bleeding as he caught up with Zhou Siyu: "Why don't we go back and return it?"
“I’m spending my own money, it’s none of your business.” Zhou Siyu stopped in her tracks. “If you like it, just buy it. I’m not short of money.”
Anything that can be solved with money is a minor issue; if money can't solve it, then pay double the amount to minimize the problem!
"But it's really too expensive."
Yu Wei curled his lip; he was a country bumpkin and couldn't accept it.
Zhou Siyu could understand. Before leaving home, Yu Wei was the young master of the Yu family, and his food, clothing, and lodging were all taken care of. After leaving home, he was basically in the army, so he didn't have to worry about food and lodging and had no concept of money.
But Zhou Siyu was different. When he was a child, he could not eat a hot meal or wear a new piece of clothing all year round. After he started his own business as an adult, he slept on the streets and fought with stray dogs for food during the most difficult time.
After he became rich, he went on a buying spree, purchasing a lot of clothes, shoes, luxury goods, famous cigarettes, wines, and paintings, stuffing them all into the house.
But like a wound in the heart, a house can never be filled; there will always be a gap.
He tried to find romantic partners, but those people were either after his money or his life. Over time, he stopped trusting anyone, creating a self-imposed prison for himself in endless darkness.
Seeing that Zhou Siyu didn't speak, Yu Wei quietly took Zhou Siyu's hand and said, "I won't back down, I won't back down, don't be angry."
“I’m not angry.” Zhou Siyu snapped out of her thoughts. “Let me take you to buy a formal suit.”
"Forget it."
"No way." Zhou Siyu forcefully pulled Yu Wei forward. "My people can't be outdone by anyone."
After visiting several stores, Zhou Siyu could always find fault with the clothes. Either the style was wrong or the fabric was bad, and even the slightest wrinkle was unacceptable.
She got tired after walking for a short while, so she leaned on Yu Wei's back and let him carry her around.
After searching the entire mall, Zhou Siyu still couldn't find a suitable formal suit for Yu Wei, so she had to settle for the next best thing and choose the tallest among the short ones.
"When I get back, I'll definitely have someone make one tailored to your measurements. These clothes are just too bad."
Zhou Siyu lay on Yu Wei's back, chewing on the lollipop she had just bought.
However, thinking that Yu Wei would be thrown into the army again after returning, and they would only see each other a few times a year, the clothes would be made but no one would wear them.
"Yu Wei, do you like the military?"
Zhou Siyu leaned close to Yu Wei's ear and spoke in a muffled voice.
“I like it.” Yu Wei nodded. “I really like the atmosphere there. I have friends and brothers. We go to the battlefield together, do missions together, chat and drink together, and sit on the mountaintop to watch the sunrise and the warm sunset.”
He has no memory of it, but he cherishes that time from the bottom of his heart.
"I'm so envious." Zhou Siyu put her arm around Yu Wei's neck. "Let's go back."
Yu Wei nodded and drove him back to the hotel.
Zhou Siyu's room was at the end of the corridor. Standing on the balcony, one could see the rushing river and hear the ship horns. Yu Zhen and Zhou Yu's rooms were on the left and right sides of each other.
Yu Zhen's door was ajar, and a loud argument could be heard coming from inside. Zhou Siyu tugged at Yu Wei's clothes, signaling him to put her down.
"I've told you so many times, why don't you believe me? There's nothing between me and Cen Jin."
"How can you expect me to believe that?" Yu Zhen threw the newspaper at Lin Gu's face and shouted, "General Lin attended a family banquet with his beautiful wife. They're a match made in heaven..."
"We really are nothing." Lin Gu was stunned, then grabbed Yu Zhen's shoulders. "Zhenzhen, please believe me, okay?"
"Get out!" Yu Zhen shoved Lin Gu aside and threw a photo at him. "You two are nothing, but sleeping naked in the same bed, that's fucking amazing!"
"Zhenzhen, let me explain, I was drunk..."
"You said the same thing last time!" Yu Zhen took a step back. "Don't touch me, I'm dirty!"
