In the unknown century of Guangyuan, the unnamed galaxy achieved unification. To address population issues, a marriage matching system was developed, forcibly pairing people through data calculatio...
"Uncle Lin, how is it?"
Zhou Siyu pulled up her clothes and quickly buttoned them up, not even noticing that she had buttoned them up wrong.
He thought Lin Ling would take him home, but instead she dumped him at Oran Lab and put him through a bunch of tests.
The numerous inspections are fine, but can someone tell him why he has to be the subject of the interns' visits?!
"It's still not good." Lin Ling held the report, her brows furrowed. "We still need Xiao Wei."
"Do you really need him?"
Zhou Siyu frowned slightly. Yu Wei was so busy that he barely had time to breathe; they hadn't seen each other for almost two months.
“I’ve applied for you to accompany the military, but we’ll have to wait until your condition is more stable.” Lin Ling put down the report, took off her glasses, and pinched her brow. “I’ve spoken with Xiao Wei, and he thinks that if things really don’t work out, we should just not have the baby.”
"The child must stay." Zhou Siyu walked to the table, poured herself a glass of water, and stared blankly at the vortex in the center of the glass. "The child is mine, and his opinion doesn't count."
“You guys…” Lin Ling shook her head, picked up her coat and draped it over Zhou Siyu’s shoulders, straightening his clothes. “Go out for a walk and clear your mind.”
"There are too many important things here, and I... am an outsider..."
"Who said you're an outsider?" Lin Ling magically pulled an electronic name tag from her lab coat pocket. "I've said it before, as long as you want to come back, the doors of Oran Labs will always be open to you."
Zhou Siyu took the work badge, clutched it tightly in her hand, and felt a mix of emotions.
His research results were stolen, and he was falsely accused of stealing other people's scientific research results. Lin Ling tried to keep him despite everyone's objections, but he was so angry that he tore off his work badge and left.
"No need to thank me." Lin Ling smiled and patted Zhou Siyu on the shoulder. "The data and ideas you left behind have been invaluable."
Zhou Siyu always has many strange and unusual ideas in his mind, such as living organism condition monitoring chips and pheromone materialization research. What's even more remarkable is that he doesn't just stop at thinking about them, but also starts to research them.
If he hadn't left, he would undoubtedly have been the next head of the Oran Labs.
As they reminisced about the past, a touch of sadness crept into their voices. Just as Lin Ling was about to speak, the stagnant air was interrupted by a clear, cold female voice.
"Uncle Lin, I have some data here..."
The door opened, and a woman in a white coat and flat shoes appeared. When she looked up and saw the two of them, she straightened up, tossed her long, wavy hair, and greeted them with a smile: "Siyu, you're here too?"
"He's been staying here for a while now, Siyun, could you arrange a room for him?" Lin Ling took the report from Zhou Siyun and opened it. "Which item has a problem?"
“Here…” Zhou Siyun quickly flipped to the marked page and pointed to a data point: “The differentiation index is much higher than the predicted data.”
"Siyu, come and take a look..."
Lin Ling waved, and Zhou Siyu tilted her head, pointing to herself in confusion, "Me?"
Zhou Siyun's smile froze for a moment, then quickly returned. She looked at Zhou Siyu with a smile, and Lin Ling raised her head and nodded with a smile.
"Yes, come and take a look."
Zhou Siyu walked to Lin Ling's side with a puzzled look, craned her neck to take a look, and saw that the A4 white paper was densely covered with numbers and obscure formulas.
"What... is this?" Zhou Siyu looked at it for a long time, scratched the back of his head embarrassedly, and touched his nose: "I don't understand."
He hasn't been in contact with these things for over ten years, how could he possibly still remember them?
"You used to be very interested in sex differentiation prediction experiments."
Lin Ling simply shoved the document into Zhou Siyu's hands and pointed to each piece of data, explaining them one by one.
After the explanation, familiar things suddenly came to mind. Zhou Siyu stroked the numbers with the tenderness and affection of stroking a lover's face. "Uncle Lin, could you please give me a pen and some draft paper?"
Predicting gender differentiation was the last experiment he conducted. Even after the data was stolen and he left the lab, he would still perform calculations and deductions in his spare time, so he still remembers this part of the content relatively clearly.
The pen scratched softly on the white paper, the white curtains swayed gently in the breeze, and long hair fluttered in the wind, lightly brushing against her face.
Zhou Siyu bit her pen, raised her hand, picked up her loose long hair, grabbed a pencil to use as a hairpin, quickly fixed her hair, and continued to calculate.
Without the troublesome hair, Zhou Siyu seemed to be calculating much faster. Lin Ling crossed her arms, her eyes full of satisfaction and praise.
Zhou Siyun and Lin Ling stood side by side, their eyes lowered, their emotions unreadable.
"I understand!" Zhou Siyu threw down her pen, grabbed the paper and documents, and stood up excitedly.
Because of the sudden movement, the chair scraped against the floor with a screeching sound. Zhou Siyu turned around and tripped over the chair without noticing.
Fortunately, Lin Ling caught him by the shoulder in time, preventing him from falling to the ground. Looking at Zhou Siyu, who was holding his hand up on his arm and laughing like a fool, Lin Ling really wanted to slap him flat.
What time is it? Why are you still worrying about those few pieces of paper?
"Be careful of your stomach." Lin Ling helplessly helped Zhou Siyu stand up, then gave him a sharp tap on the forehead with exasperation: "You're about to be a father, how can you be so clumsy?"
"Thank you, Uncle Lin, I understand." Zhou Siyu excitedly handed the data and draft paper to Lin Ling, pointing to the data with her pen: "This item has been wrong from the beginning."
"The optimal testing group for differentiation prediction should be those aged twelve to fourteen, but according to the data here, the testing group is under ten years old..."
"Impossible!" Zhou Siyun interrupted Zhou Siyu decisively. "The ages of the test subjects are all recorded."
