The next day, Bai Shuang and her two companions left by car at dawn. They found a well-trodden road used by fishermen, crossed the Yellow River, and headed straight for Yunshi.

The journey was relatively smooth. Because the route avoided the mountains, the three of them arrived near Longcheng smoothly two days later.

Bai Jiu asked, "Miss, where shall we go first?"

"Let's go to Dragon City Base first and ask someone for directions."

Longcheng Base is an official base, so internal security shouldn't be a problem. Staying here to rest will also allow me to get to know the area better, which is much safer than staying in the wild.

As the car traveled along the official road, the three of them looked around in different directions to see if anyone was around. In the distance, they spotted a large truck driving towards them.

Some of them ran towards the path where Bai Shuang and the others were.

The footsteps grew closer, and Bai Shuang and the others stuck their guns out the window. If they saw the guns and left, the three of them wouldn't interfere.

But they just wouldn't.

"There are snowmobiles!"

"Let's go together, rob it, and drive it away."

The group ran toward the snowmobile, ignoring the guns pointed at them.

"Bang!" Bai Chang fired a shot into the air, giving them a final warning, but unfortunately, the warning was ineffective.

At this point, they were still out of range of the homemade guns, which had a range of about one-half to one-quarter that of the submachine guns.

Bang bang, bang bang bang...

Without any further hesitation, the three men charged forward, and those who were rushing forward fell into pools of blood before they could even turn around, and were quickly frozen solid.

Two minutes later, the people chasing after them arrived.

Three people saw the snowmobile, the submachine guns that Bai Shuang and the others were holding, and then they looked at the robbers' corpses on the ground and guessed what had happened.

They stood outside the range of the submachine guns and put down their weapons.

"Don't misunderstand, we were ordered to haul coal for the base. We were just robbed and they chased after us."

As they spoke, the men took out their work IDs and held them up for Bai Shuang and the others to see.

Although she couldn't see clearly, Bai Shuang didn't sense any hostility from them, and out of courtesy, Bai Shuang and the others also put down their guns.

He gestured to them, telling them to sling their guns over their backs and come closer.

The three men walked over and handed over their work IDs, which Bai Chang took and examined carefully.

Bai Shuang held a poison needle in her hand, her eyes fixed on the group. Bai Jiu, though not pointing the gun at them, kept it out of reach.

Bai Chang told her it was true, and then asked about the exact location of the base.

In chaotic times, it's not surprising that people have things for self-defense, but it shouldn't be excessive and pose a threat to the base.
